Cocktails are not good. They need to fix all of them and make sure they are putting once big clear ice cube inside all drinks. Everything else is 8+ out of 10. Steak tacos are - as someone else has mentioned - to die for. My filet mignon was juicy and VERY tender. I mean, it was so easy to cut apart. I think the chef and whoever is making the food are really carrying this place. The hostess and our server, Alex, were also very very nice and welcoming. My dinner partner had the foie gras dish, and it was also great! I definitely want to come back. Just do not order cocktails, haha. Well we arrived in suits and dress clothes because it said "fine dining" but we were totally overdressed at this establishment. Maybe I'm too old, but fine dining should involve that refinement. Stop calling yourself fine dining and call it expensive food with uppity servers and no dress code. Food was amazing- so please know I would absolutely go back for the food! We had lobster bisque, the best Caesar salad (top 5), calm chowder, shrimp and clams, lamb and a fillet. During our meal just after the lovely table side service of the lobster bisque my son accidentally moved the table with his feet and the drinks flew into my food. Our server watched it happen and walked away. She turned not to help but out of disgust walked the other way! The food runner came to the rescue! But then we were charged for another drink that spilled! I don't know but when your at fine dining and you get double charged for a table moving and treated like you are an inconvenience that gets me. Plus she was clearly angry with us. For an expensive night out, Willow & Ivy did not live up to the hype. We got there and had a reservation with bar seating requested. When we checked in with the hostess and asked for bar seating, she said they have two reservations that requested bar seating and those seats are being held for them. I informed her we are probably one of those requests. She checked again and simply replied "we have a table for you". Ok, fine. When we get to the table, it is wobbling back and forth. The place was crazy busy and we didn't feel like flagging someone down to deal with it, so my wife and I just sat with our feet on the base the whole time and that held it steady enough. We then ordered a couple glasses of wine. They are NOT shy about the prices here. Each glass costs between $15-19, and the pours were small. We'd guess either 4 or 5 ounces. We ordered Foie Gras as an app. When it arrived, we asked for some bread to go with it. To our surprise, when the bill came, they charged us an extra $3 for the bread. When you order a $27 app, and two dinners each costng over $50, to add $3 for bread seems a bit petty. I ordered the skirt steak medium rare and it came out bloody rare. My wife ordered the scallops. They were served in a broth that was loaded with salt. Ruined the whole dish. All in with tax and tip, we dropped $250. For that price, this was a disappointment and we had wished we dined elsewhere. read more

Our server only came back once after dropping off our food, leaving us to flag down a different server for our check and a to-go box. In the Lennox hotel is a noteworthy restaurant called Willow & Ivy. This esteemed eatery has been on my family's radar for a while and I recently was finally able to go. The entrance is around the corner from the hotel entrance, so if you're driving then park there for the valet. When you enter the first noticeable thing are the plants including a large tree near the entrance. There's a raised bar against the far wall and a few different dining areas with tables and beautiful lights and decorations all around. The atmosphere is elegant and calming. The menu is unique and it wasn't easy to choose an entree, but I went with the bolognese which was fantastic and had neat wheel shaped pasta. My starter with one of the best clam chowders I've ever had, full of clams and ham or pancetta. I also got to have some of a salad which was also great and full of interesting ingredients, with the same pancetta. We ended with a mint chocolate chip ice cream and two large warm cookies, which was a perfect dessert. The service was great as well. Willow & Ivy is a phenomenal restaurant and for sure one that anyone who enjoys fine dining in Boston should visit! read more

i was pleasantly surprised by this elegant gem tucked away in the lennox hotel! Willow and ivy is a small space with an upscale ambiance. It was very lively on a Monday night and we came to try their dine-out Boston prefix meal. For $55 i started with oysters, had the Bolognese, and ended with a raspberry creme brulee. The oysters were fresh and came with ample side sauces which i loved. The Bolognese was also pretty solid, I loved the big wheel noodles that were al dente and it was very saucy which I enjoyed. The creme brulee was also such a treat, I loved the raspberry accents and the tart sorbet on the side was a nice touch. Overall a pretty solid deal! A more accurate rating is 4.5 stars. My wife, our friends, and I were in town to move our respective children into their freshman college dorms, and we went out for a night on the town. I selected Willow and Ivy based on the strength of their reviews on Yelp and the photos of the space. It looked great. I am glad to say that it lived up to the accolades in the reviews. We were seated quickly, and we had a comfortable table for four. The bar across the room looked beautiful. It was laid out well and had plenty of seating. My wife and I are bar people when we are out by ourselves, but sit at a table when we are with guests. The rest of the space was well-lit and spacious. The great thing was it was not noisy despite the number of occupants. It was easy to engage in conversation. Our server was right there and was full of suggestions regarding the food and drink. Three of us started with the cocktail called Mr. Humo. It was amazing. I actually had two of them. We began with three appetizers that I would highly recommend - the focaccia pie with tomatoes, the dumplings, and the tuna. They were all extremely flavorful and well presented (see photos). For dinner, we each got something different including: the salmon, the lamb, the skirt steak and the Branzino. We each tried all of them and they were all fantastic. In town for work and staying in the Copley area. We had an open dinner night and I found this spot and booked a reservation. The menu and ambience stood out and I was excited to try it out. The restaurant has its own exterior entrance and is part of the Lennox Hotel. We were seated promptly for our 6pm reservation and the restaurant steadily became busier as we ate. On our server's recommendation, we started with the Yellow Fin Tuna & Peach Burrata Focaccia Pie. Both were excellent and an indicator of what was to come. I went with the filet and subbed in the whipped potatoes and asparagus over the mushrooms and duck potatoes. Steak was a perfect medium-rare (or Gordon Ramsay mid-rare), potatoes light and tasty and asparagus was asparagus ha! My colleagues both went with the scallops which I sampled and loved the flavor of the ginger broth. It was also delicious to dip steak in. I always like to look at the dessert menu and appreciated that they read my mind and just placed it in front of us. We shared the decadent and showy Double Chocolate Brownie (a chocolate lovers dream!) and the Garden Strawberry "Shortcake" (deconstructed and fine, but order the chocolate!). Our server and the whole staff were attentive and welcoming despite being busy. They have been open for just 5 months and are nailing it so far. This is a beautiful restaurant/ bar that was something else before hand that I have ate at before. But I have not yet ate here only came here for coffee over the weekend. Some friends and I sat at the bar. There were not many people at the bar area but quite a few tables were in use. There was only one bartender I believe so I felt that the service was on the slow side especially since we only ordered coffees. I ordered the special pride latte. It had lavender and vanilla in it. But the bartender forgot the most important part which was to add the pop of color to it for pride.'They used fruity pebbles I believe for it. So I asked the bartender if he could add it and he said sure, but then that took a bit of time since I don't think he could find them at first. We arrived a few minutes early and were greeted by a lovely hostess who explained prior diners were just leaving so we waited a few minutes for our table. Gaurav was our extremely friendly and knowledgeable server. His wonderful personality really added to our dining experience. We started our meal with the amazing pork belly adobo. It was a nice small portion for two that we both loved. We both live close by and said we'd go back for drinks at the gorgeous bar to pair with this fantastic appetizer. I came here for a 12-person work team dinner after looking for a treat-yourself dining experience. And wow, this place exceeded everyone's expectations, especially with the ambiance and the caters-to-everyone menu. We all loved the entrees we chose (I got the scallops), but it was the appetizers that were on the next level. The flatbreads, pork belly, and cheeses stood out, and were perfectly coupled with our cocktails (I'm still dreaming of that pear martini!). Our server was so accommodatable and patient, especially with our large party. Kudos to him! I was genuinely impressed with every aspect of Willow & Ivy, and I couldn't recommend this place more. This place was amazing. First off the restaurant is beautiful. We walked in and were greeted immediately. We had a reservation so were taken to our table which was right outside the main dining room so a bit more quiet. The food was delicious. I had the scallops with bok choy in a lemongrass broth(?). It was divine. I can't say anything about it was perfect. My sister got the rib eye cooked perfectly to a medium rare and I enjoyed the peppercorn sauce that came with it. For desert we also enjoyed the warm cookie but substituted the mint ice cream for vanilla. I also have to say everyone was so friendly and seemed to help each other out. We saw what looked like managers bringing out plates and when our waitress had a large table to care for someone else came to check on us. I will happily come back anytime im in the city. read more

Our party of four came here on a Sunday evening with a dinner reservation at 5. We were promptly seated and the friendly waitstaff took our drink order. The interior is very chic and the restaurant itself is attached to the fancy Lenox hotel. Our waiter walked us through any questions we had about the menu and gave us some time to mull it over. We put in our food orders and it didn't take long for everything to start coming out. I opted for the wedge salad with a chicken breast to go along with it as well as the roasted asparagus side. The blue cheese on the wedge was fantastic and the addition of the blue cheese dressing really hit that umami flavor home. The roasted asparagus would've been great on its own, but the goat cheese provided a nice bit of delicious tang to the dish as well. My wife and I stopped in since we are staying at the Lenox. So glad we chose to eat here. This was the second night being open. The ambiance is so beautifully decorated. It's very nice upscale and classy. We were greeted immediately by the hostess and she seated us perfectly our reservation right on time. Andres David was our server and the attention to detail was over the top. The menu has a variety if your pallet is up for something new or something classic. My wife ordered the Branzino soooo good. It was beautifully cooked. She loved it. I ordered the chicken it was super amazing. The food comes out super hot which is such an amazing touch. So many restaurants serve good cold or warm. Everything was phenomenal! I can't recommend this place enough. The food, service, and ambiance were all exceptional. I went for my graduation dinner, and they had a hand written card at the table waiting for me to wish me congratulations. To start, we had the focaccia bread to share and clam chowder, so delicious. Best clam chowder I've had, and it had whole clams in it. For mains, we had pasta bolognese, salmon, and the green apple chicken. The chicken was the juiciest I've ever had, the salmon was cooked to perfection, and the pasta was so flavorful. The presentation was great as well. Vanessa was our server, and she was so kind, helpful, and attentive. After seeing another table get the oysters, we asked the restaurant manger, Dan, what they ordered. After explaining it to us, I told him I never had oysters so he gave us the appetizer for free to try! One bartender tending to the bar patrons as well as the service orders, while two others behind the bar seemed to do nothing. The bread appetizer was way too sweet and should be a dessert. Lose all the sugar please. Foie gras was delicious, great texture. but really small serving. Lamb was good but a little tough and a shade overcooked. One of my guests asked for a side of couscous to accompany her entree. But the waitress returned and said the chef would not allow it because it would change the dishes flavor profile. Huh?
