"There are two kinds of adventurers: those who go truly hoping to find adventure and those who go secretly hoping they won't." ~Rabindranath Tagore - I look for adventure, and adventure means bumps and bruises and scuffs. To take the bumps and bruises and scuffs, you have to be tough, and you need tough equipment. Topo has a good selection of hip backpacks and trendy light-hiking apparel. It looks great, but it seems to be more for hiking the airport or hiking the college campus or looking "Colorado cool" than for "All Trails" kinda hikes like I do. But it looks really good. I'll get one of their backpacks next time I hike to Starbucks for a latte. - There are many people like this too. They are superficial and shallow, and can't handle the hard stuff of life. When confronted with "hard" they remember that they have an appointment to get their nails done. Mani Pedi, anyone?

Have been wanting a pair of Topo women's bouldering pants for awhile now and finally decided to stop in and see if they had anything I liked. Found the perfect pair, AND they were on sale!! Couldn't be happier!! Zach the young man behind the counter was extremely helpful and an over all pleasure to be around. Will definitely be returning to purchase a bag in the near future!! They also had Smokey the Bear patches, could it get any better?!

Olive over the natural shirt showing the body difference and sleeve length difference.

I purchased two of the waffle long sleeve shirts, one olive and one "natural", and both shirts were cut different. What I mean is that the body and sleeves on the natural are a full 1-2 inches smaller than the olive one. The sleeves are supposed to be 35.25" from center back neck and are 34" barely. I've done two exchanges in hopes of getting two shirts that are the same size, but this is apparently impossible. Their customer service on the issue has been lackluster to say the least and they fully intend to sell shirts they know are out of spec. For a company that "prides it's self on quality" and charges $80 for a thermal shirt it's pretty unacceptable.

I really wish there was a way to put more than five stars, because this company definitely deserves like a hundred. It was by my good luck that I ran across Topo Designs in a Tumblr post many years ago, it was a picture of a stylish looking backpack and thank goodness the link to their website was on that post. Couple of scrolls through their website and i was already in love, I was sold. I'm from Southern California and I really love to hike and go on adventures, so naturally I am constantly on the hunt for amazing backpacks. However, at the time, I already had an amazing backpack (a really cool nike one that's been with me for several years and in good condition) so I bookmarked the website just in case I ever needed to buy a new backpack. I would've just bought it right then and there but hey, I'm on a college student budget. I ended up getting the opportunity to buy one this past winter because my girlfriend was in desperate need of a backpack. She's a chemical engineering student and she takes her studies very seriously, which means she's always carrying a shitload of books. On top of that she's a competitive water polo player so she needs room for workout clothes, etc. With that being said, all her other previous backpacks have been demolished from the weight of all the books/binders she carries. I wanted to get her a reliable backpack that wouldn't get destroyed within a couple of months, so I decided to try Topo. I bought her the 22L Klettersack because I knew she'd need the extra space. I was a little concerned because she's 5'2" and I thought the backpack would be a little big on her, but it fits perfectly! Before ordering online, I called their store in Colorado and the guy who picked up spent like 15 minutes on the phone with me answering all of my annoying questions and giving me his opinion on which size, etc. He was super helpful and very friendly. The backpack itself is beautiful, super sturdy and simple-looking. It looks stylish and doesn't have all the unnecessary crap that you see on other backpacks. Very spacious comes with a laptop sleeve and water proof interior. Straps are extremely durable and easy to use, there's also a pouch on the outside portion. One of the best backpacks I've ever seen/purchased. My girlfriend loves the backpack and so do I, so happy with my purchase and I am glad to say I will be buying another one soon. Excellent job, Topo!

They offer every type of equipment one would need for their selected sport whether it's hiking, climbing, cycling, camping, paddling, skiing, snowboarding or overall fitness. They also offer the option to rent outdoor equipment, provide a full range bike shop and ski and snowboard services. My husband managed to spend all his saved up gift cards (Ha! Ha!) Service was friendly and helpful from the staff. REI can always be a little on the spendy side but I always try to catch their sales. I love being a member and receiving my annual rewards. Parking is the only downer as it's only free for the first hour. After that you must pay and believe me, an hour is not enough time here. So glad we had the opportunity to stop in, shop and check out this historic location.

They offer a selection of both used and new items for people who live in active or outdoorsy lifestyle. The prices are fair and I love being able to purchase used high-quality items. Today I came in and could not have been happier to find a running belt. I tried to buy things used as much as possible because it saves money and is also giving a second life two items that would otherwise end up in a landfill. The running belt I found was great quality, very gently used and only cost $11. Feral is an absolute gem for the community and is by far my favorite outdoor good store. It is so well located also on Tennyson. Afterwards, you can stop for coffee or pop in for a yoga class at nearby businesses. Though modest in quantity, I did appreciate finding a few items for doggies including trail booties (how cute!). Honestly, I felt that the gear selection seemed limited, mostly on part for biking equipment and accessories. Feral carries a few multi-use items like sunglasses, hydration packs, and headlamps, but other than that, nothing else. The store also lacks in service. There were three young ladies working at the front of the store, chatting amongst themselves. Not one customer was greeted when (we) walked in and checking out felt like an inconvenience to the staff. Prices here on new gear is a bit on the higher side in comparison so it's worth it to shop around (online).

You will need to use street parking or a public parking lot such as I did. It's really not bad at all to park away from the location and get out for a nice walk to the store. You will pass other stores and businesses that perhaps catch your eye for shopping. After finishing up at Patagonia I went to Denver Market for an ice cold beverage. The store lay-out for Patagonia isn't bad. It's clean and organized. Staff aren't so helpful. There were two staff members at the front register. Why one of them couldn't be on the main floor helping customers is a mystery. When going to check out at the register one of them pretty much ignored me then caught herself moments later. Management: please improve customer relations. Don't make interactions so transactional. I walked away with what I wanted but probably should have just used another retailer or distributor to get it.
