Medium Roast
Lindsey H.

I am an absolute sucker for cute local coffee shops and TOPOG is absolutely darling. I love the environment, decor, all the coffee mugs and gift items, but the coffee takes the cake. I had a Brown Sugar Shaken Espresso and it was delicious! I just brewed their medium roast coffee this morning and not only does it smell amazing but it's a great coffee, black or with a little creamer, and it doesn't even need creamer. Everyone is so friendly and ready to serve you. Okoboji is near and dear to my heart, and now this little staple holds a special place as well.

Cute coffee shop in Arnold's Park! We had an iced vanilla latte and a black coffee. I also had the avocado toast on a bagel that was really good.

The food was INCREDIBLE - highly adored the breakfast bowl & only slightly sad the lox wasn't available. I am hoping it will return as I have read amazing reviews on it! The shirts & gifts are amazing & service was speedy fast. My coffee was okay. I ordered off of their favorites, and got a vanilla sweet cream cold brew. I guess I was expecting to see the sweet cold foam on top - or taste it, but neither of those happened. All of the coffees I received looked the same (see next paragraph) I am a cold brew addict and with the rating was expecting a lot more. My husbands white mocha was yummy & my sisters Shaken Brown espresso & vanilla lattes were good. Will try again! The interior was beautiful and I love the company pulling to the fact that it's topography - we went home with LOTS of merch.

This place is beautiful! Located across from Arnold's Park with a lovely outdoor space, I would love to work here daily. Whoever is in charge of making sure this place looks pretty is doing an excellent job. There is a merchandise island with lots of goodies hanging on the walls. I would buy just about everything if I could afford it. The coffee here is good and moderately priced, but what gets me is the ice cream! There were about 12 different flavors to choose from, all of which I've had the chance to try, and all were fantastic! Do a sampler to try three different kinds for just $6. The wifi works great; I've never had an issue. Most of the chairs are only comfortable on the NorthEast wall. I was sitting in one, and my wife came in, so I wanted to give it to her, but she was too slow, and an older man snatched them up. You have to be fast!

We visited Topog a few times during our week long stay in Arnold's Park in August. It's a very cute & aesthetically pleasing shop, with lots of cute merchandise. We only tried espresso drinks and would say none of them were that great. Not the worst, but not the best. I think it was the espresso itself that was lacking flavor to us. The service was also just ok. The cashiers/baristas weren't necessarily rude, but they just never seemed super happy to be there taking your order. This was true of all of them that we encountered over our few visits. We kept going back because it itched our coffee scratch, and was the only open place walkable from where we stayed. Otherwise we would've opted to go elsewhere.

This is certainly the trendiest/most modern coffee shop in the area. The interior is really fun and the shop sells some great local merchandise. I ordered one of their specials iced chai with vanilla cold foam (dirty) and a lemon poppyseed muffin. Their prices seems really high for what it was worth (was eyeing a lavender love latte but it was $7.50 for a 16 oz). When I order a dirty chai, I expect a big punch of chai flavor, but it was unfortunately very watered down. I would have given 3 stars for the coffee but the lemon poppyseed muffin was really good so that was this review's savior. Overall, not my favorite coffee shop and think some of the hole-in-the-wall and homier coffee shops in the area may offer better quality coffee.

Lox bagel sandwich

Got the lox bagel sandwich. Highly recommend. It was a Saturday so it was busy so took time in line and waiting for it but worth it. Lots of goodies in the bagel that elevates your taste buds.

It's amazing that Arnold's Park has a new, legit coffee place. I used to work at this spot in the park in high school scooping ice cream and serving up bagels, and TOPOG has thoroughly brought the space into the modern era, serving up coffee, tea, and simple eats when you're on the boat or near the park. I had a cold brew coffee and it was pretty good! Love that they have strawless lids. My companion had raspberry iced tea. Lol no one in our group could figure out how to pronounce the name of this place. Is it Like TOE-POG? Or TA-Pahg? It's lost on me but the graphic design is super cute. Prices were fair, servers were friendly, competent and swift. I'll be back!

Because those are both better. But this is a locally owned business and I give them points for that. Service is interesting; you order at a tiny counter when you enter. The donut man seemed shy, and just a guess, surprised to see me. But he was polite. Next, you take your donuts to the cashier and pay. She seemed to try to smile. She seemed bored but was polite. Then you leave with your styrofoam container. The maple donut is fresh and tastes very good. 4 star for that. Still, I'm not sure I'd go back. Or that they would want me back. I couldn't tell. The place itself, by the way, was clean, quiet and modern looking, with a hygenic, comfortable appearance. To be constructive, I'd point out that the most comforting part of a dining visit is the people. To say you just let workers be themselves means Jitters has no interior brand. Train these employees in how to make people feel welcome. Like you're happy they're there. Like you want customers to come back. Sit-down customers seemed to be enjoying themselves well enough. So maybe I was overly picky or just misinterpreted the friendly charm. Remember, I'm just some fat guy.
