Instead of simply explaining their system, the employee, Tom, immediately scolded me for "cutting" ahead of others. I explained that I didn't need any assistance from the counter and just needed to check out, but he responded angrily that this is why they have a ticketing system and that I shouldn't "jump in front of people." It was an unnecessarily rude interaction, especially given that a simple explanation would have resolved everything. Not the level of customer service, or the holiday spirit, I expected. Unfortunately, my 6-year-old had to witness the whole exchange as well.

The Village Community Market is focused on all different aspects of the community and has live music. Included here are many artisans such as crafts, homemade greeting cards, meats, home made play dough, t shirts and organic wines. There are food trucks, fresh juices, baked goods and wine slushies along with the standard farm fresh fruits and veggies. Other community partners and businesses are also present including a local dance studio, Feed Hamburg and the local church/ catholic school. It is wonderful to see so many different areas of the community come together as one every Saturday morning.

Anyone who has not raised their own animals for food nor run their own farm with the constant need for upkeep and money, repairing damage from storms and following strict rules for quality practices can critique his older equipment but I wouldn't trade the experience. A small town family with a small town farm who is concerned over the care and processing of their product will continue to have my vote. Have had his beef, pork, sausage, ham, chickens, eggs and have been very pleased. On those two days he is open, it is busy with customers who have been going there for many years, just engage one of them and they will all tell you their favorites.

The first time I went to Fowler's was to buy sponge candy for some friends in Florida. My friend Tasha sent me a book that turned out to be one of the best I've ever read. It's an old book and out of print, and I kept the book longer than was honestly acceptable, so when I mailed it back I wanted to include something special. I sent a box of milk chocolate and a box of orange milk chocolate sponge candy. Needless to say, I was forgiven. The shop is small, but don't let that fool you. There's a lot packed inside and it's plenty of variety. Wonderful gifts or treats for yourself. I went back just before Christmas to pick up a couple of boxes of sponge candy for my best friend, and the associate working at the counter offered to wrap them up for me. The customer service has been top notch every time I've been in there. The store is clean and organized in a way that makes it easy to find what you need. There's enough parking and it's easy to get in and out. Seriously, Fowler's; let's hang out more, okay? Often I'll get them home, we'll try them a few days later- love them, but then go back to the store to get more and they're gone.
