I ordered the steak fajita tacos, and honestly, I was really disappointed. For almost $7 per taco, I expected much better quality and portion. This was my first time leaving a review for food, but I felt like I had to share my experience. The tortilla was so hard it was difficult to eat, and the burrito I got for my son was very mushy and not well put together. Overall, the food did not feel prepared properly. Our total order came out to about $65, and it really wasn't worth it, especially after traveling a long way to eat here. I'm grateful for the effort, but the food quality just didn't meet expectations. I hope they can improve consistency and food preparation in the future. read more

Torchy's can be pretty hit or miss. The first two times I went, I thought my tacos were bland and overpriced. I decided not to go back. They got me with an offer for free queso, so I tried again. This time I got a salad that was very good. I was also surprised by how well made their cocktails are. The service isn't the greatest as it's a fast casual restaurant. Driving through Colorado Springs, CO the other day and a former coworker messaged me and said to try this place out. We were right next door at Scheels and drove over to give it a shot. It reminded me of a Rusty Taco that we have in Arizona, but it had much more than just tacos. Both my wife and I got burrito bowls and enjoyed them. She wasn't as hungry, so she got one without protein. Mine had delicious chicken fajita meat in it. Because I had just signed up for the app, we also got a free chips and queso. Wow. Those are really good. Definitely worth purchasing on our next visit. The service was quick and friendly and the atmosphere was that of a sports bar. Very disappointed with my experience at Torchy's Tacos. The cashier and the staff seemed lifeless and uninterested, almost like the place was being run by younger employees who simply didn't care about customer service. We ordered three burritos and churros. When the food came out, the burritos were thrown on top of the churros, crushing them and leaving them crumbled up. It showed a complete lack of attention to detail and care for the order. What made it even more frustrating was that the restaurant wasn't busy at all--there were only a handful of people there. First time and was pleasantly pleased with the size of the tacos. Contains about double the meat of most street tacos I've had. The Corn tortillas tasted very freshly made. The green sauce is a medium spice and very flavorful. 2 tacos was more than enough but I had the small bowl of street corn. It was super sweet corn. Went here today for lunch. The food is a little pricy but it's clear you're paying for high-quality ingredients (which is what I prefer.) You can taste the difference! The staff is friendly but unfortunately it feels like it's a little short-handed or maybe lacking in leadership, as all of the freed up tables weren't wiped down and they had kept their large window open even though it was windy and uncomfortable. Also, this location is rather loud and caused our server to have trouble hearing us and missed some things on our order. My advice is for management: don't make your customers suffer because you don't feel like paying payroll. Hire more staff. read more

Torchy's has a casual restaurant/bar feel. You order at the register, and the food is delivered to the table. There is bar-seating as well as open-table seating. The menu had a good variety of tacos and other items to choose from. We ordered the queso and chips for the table and a variety of tacos. The queso dip was fire! Had a kick but not overly spicy (although, it could be considered too spicy for those who can't handle any spice). I had the Democrat and Baja shrimp tacos. The tacos were good. We used to love this place when HUMANS ran the order counter. We went there recently only to find the order counter was festooned with self-service screens and no humans. Not a single employee was in sight at that spot, nor was there any evidence any had recently been, with only a bartender and a server or two wandering around delivering food. The kiosk interface was such a disastrous cluster we gave up and left after only a minute or two of trying to figure out that mess and went across the street to Fuzzy's instead, where REAL PEOPLE take your order, answer questions, suggest alternatives etc. Torchy's removal of that environment from the customer experience and forcing us into a purely digital and sterile interaction is a colossal failure of epic proportions. Every time we tried to add a taco to our order it insisted on trying to upgrade that to a meal with drinks and other food and there was no intuitive way to cancel that and just add more tacos. It was a ridiculous debacle, and took far more time and complexity than just having a human take your order. If Torchy's sees this and chooses to respond, there is a very high likelihood they will simply blame some sort of computer glitch, or promise the software is still being perfected, or humans were removed to cut costs and increase efficiency to allow for lower prices (which is a joke because their prices have gone up significantly in the last six months or so), or claim an employee WAS there and just was temporarily unavailable, or some other such lame excuse. The far more likely reality is, this was a corporate mandate in an effort to boost profits and it is backfiring in the worst possible way. They will probably come to the conclusion after watching sales plummet that the decision was a horrible mistake. However, when they run the numbers of what it will cost to execute a massive PR campaign to try to regain customers' trust (e.g., "Humans are back! Please come eat here again!"), the bean encounters will reject the wisdom and common sense of incurring that expense and choose to just keep raising prices to compensate for the dramatic drop off in customer traffic and loyalty. That is the hallmark of a company in a financial death spiral. So long, Torchy's. Maybe something better will occupy your space in the very near future after your inevitable demise. read more

Really good restaurant, food, and service. I came with a group of 12 people and it came out to about $150 for all of us to eat. The tacos and sides were all very well proportioned. The food also came out very fast and they weren't missing anything. They also have a very smart and efficient self serving area. You grab all your own silverware napkins nest the exit. Also placed there are to-go boxes and bags. Very smart because it saves the waiters time not having to get these items for guest. The drinks are also self serving, again saving time. I gave minus one star because for the price of tacos I'd rather get them from a food truck. Lol read more

I had the best experience here today for lunch! The most important thing, even before I mention the great food, is the service! The manager guy from Houston was so on point and helpful, checking in to make sure I was happy, and offered a little tomatillo salsa instead of hot sauce (which was a little "thick" for me), and talk about delicious! I loved it. I had the plant-based taco, regular queso (no meat), and not one thing was off! It was fantastic and now that I know, my next visit will be for the avocado taco and ice cold beer! Great stop for tacos! They are pretty big, so you only need to order 2 if you're hungry. My favorite one is the Baja shrimp taco, it's so good that I almost got 2 of them. The sauce they pair with is so delicious, and i love how they fry the shrimp. I decided to try the beef fajita taco, and the beef was so moist and had a great taste, I also really liked the peppers and onions. We shared chips and queso, the queso has guac, feta cheese, and Siracha sauce you can mix together or dip separately. I liked the different flavors it gave the queso, what a unique way to make queso. This place gets busy making it hard to find seating and even parking. Luckily, they had covered outdoor seating, we got to stay warm in the sun but didn't have to bear the wind. I'm really disappointed in this place, me and my wife come here all the time i can't help but have some of the queso, and the tacos are good if they have the right crew in the back, i have had frequent interactions with the same lady at the kiosk where you order your food and she has consistently been the absolute worst to deal with, she looks like she's inconvenienced that I'm even there and ordering food, and she consistently has gotten my order incorrect, i told her today that i wanted 2 tacos and she only gave us one, and i clearly stated 2 tacos and this isn't the first time she's done this, if u see a taller woman Mexican with glasses and black hair, she will destroy ur order and she won't even care. I think that woman should do a lot better at her job considering 80% of adults could do your job and it's not hard. Went on a Sunday morning 30 minutes after they opened. Every table in restaurant was dirty. Most had dried food on them. The bathrooms were dirty. Floors were sticky. I tried a green chili pork taco and a CrossRoads taco. As far as the meat on the tacos, it was flavorful, and tasted like quality, but as for quantity? The tacos are about the size of a woman's fist. Two hours later after two tacos, I was hungry. Each taco was over 5 bucks and I've NEVER seen tacos this expensive. I wouldn't be rushing to go here again. Waaaay overpriced in my opinion. It was clean and the service was amiable. We felt it a tad overpriced ($5-6 for a single taco is a little absurd), but in this economy who can blame them, and they are slightly fancy tacos with a decent portion. The food: The tipsy chick was amazing. The bacon sauce they give you to top it was incredible. Smoky and flavorful. A great taco for sure. The trailer park was stellar. I got it trashy to have some queso on it and it did not disappoint. Worth the 50 cents entirely. Really solid taco that you won't regret ordering. The chicken fajita was also good. Not as fantastic as the first two but still very yummy. The Democrat was also very good. The barbacoa had a great flavor and putting it with the avocado and cotija cheese is a winner. Great place for casual dining off Interquest. It's not too loud and there is plenty of seating. It doesn't take long to receive your food. Someone said they only have corn tortillas but they also have flour, you just request it. If you want a taco "trashy" make sure to tell them and they replace the lettuce with queso. Interestingly, they have vegan options here and you can order beyond meat if desired. I didn't see a vegan cheese listed. Their food tastes fresh but if you're looking for a place with free chips, salsa and then plates with a ton of beans and rice, this isn't your place. You can check out Hacienda Colorado for that. But if you're looking for unusual combinations, flavors and specialty tacos, burritos or salads, then this is your place. I would say price point is about 3.75 per taco. Weirdly average tacos for an expensive price. We came in with high expectations but came out disappointed. First of all, the kids menu is no where to be found on the menus in the restaurant. You can only find them online or on a sad piece of paper at the front counter. Highly inconvenient when you're dining with children and want to figure out what they want before you even reach the front counter. Granted, they had a diverse kid's menu, but the portions were so small and didn't come with a drink. Secondly, their whole menu is a la carte, so the price of the bill can add up pretty quickly. Especially with their tacos being $4-6 each. This is an absolute rip off. Our order of 4 tacos, a kids meal, chips and salsa, and one large drink to share was $40. However, my daughter enjoyed her cheese quesadilla and I enjoyed my baja shrimp taco. My husband ordered the Democrat, which is a beef barbacoa. He said this had a weird taste to it. He also ordered the chicken and beef fajitas. He seemed to like the beef fajita the most. The chips and salsa were not good at all. The salsa was way too spicy to enjoy and the chips were bland and stale. It would be a hard choice for me to return. Welcome to Colorado Springs, Torchy's Tacos. We're glad this Austin, Texas based franchise is here! This place is hoppin' with guests! There is a reason why! Expect a line... but it moves quickly. The manager was outside greeting guests and handing out menus. Love that personal touch. There is ample indoor and outdoor seating, but I think you may still have a hard time finding a place sit. Baja Shrimp Tacos - there is a lot of flavors going on, but somehow it all works together. I liked that the shrimp were ample size. Next time I'll order two! Airstream Salad - this was a nice fresh salad. There could have been more chicken (only $2 to add a protein) and I was disappointed with the portion of it, but the flavors were great. Ok, so for the down and dirty, my only complaint was I was really surprised at how dirty the bathroom was. That's always a poor reflection on any restaurant in my opinion. Yes, I visited on a Saturday, yes it was busy, but there is no excuse for a dirty bathroom. Excellent customer service. The employees are very friendly and polite. I went to the soft opening and I have gone 3 times since they have opened. My favorites so far are the brush fire and the trailer park trashy which is where they take off the lettuce and add queso. I really like the guacamole and chips and of course the hillbilly queso. You order and pay at the counter. You go find a table and when your food is ready they will find you with the buzzer they gave you. They will bring it out to you. There is outdoor and indoor dining.
