The crew was awesome and it's always cool to me to see how hands-on every single person on the staff is. I was super hungry so I ordered the Niçoise salad which was perfect. The vinaigrette they have is flavorful and I would put it on anything. Since I've been on a ramen kick lately I had to have the wabi-sabi ramen which I highly recommend to everyone. Drinks! I got the good luck, outlaw and it was bright, not too sweet, gingery. If you're not used to consuming turmeric this may kick start your digestion so be wary if you're going somewhere with limited restrooms. Good for the gut really means GOOD for the gut. If you've never visited this little spot, don't be afraid to try something you may have not heard of. Shuga's is avant-garde dining, with a menu of all different kind of items that somehow still co-exist without sacrificing flavor, but still shows love to that menu item's traditional style. My family and I have been going to Shuga's since before I can remember and always enjoy it. The coconut shrimp soup is amazing, the salads actually have some substance to them, and I've never had a better cubano sandwich. Truthfully the whole menu is fantastic, and that goes for the drinks as well. Due to Shugas popularity it has become less and less likely to find an available table without making a reservation, but this is what you expect. Recently, my sister and I decided to meet some friends for an early dinner on a Saturday night. It looked like there were some open tables on the patio, and we figured we would go in and see if we could get one. The person who greeted us at the door was extremely unwelcoming and treated us like we had done something wrong by walking in. He asked if we had a reservation and when we started to say no, he directed us to a two top, saying it was the only thing he had available. I told him we had three more joining us so we would head out if that was the only open table. He then got exasperated, saying we told him we had two in our party (we had maybe gotten a few words out before he directed us to the two top) and directed us to a larger open tables. Feeling very uncomfortable, we decided to leave and spend our evening elsewhere. This isn't the first time we have had poor service, and we always want to give the servers the benefit of the doubt. However, it was a very disappointing experience and I don't think we will be inclined to return. read more

It's not often that I can say every item I order is great but at Shuga's everything really is great. Shuga's Favorite Cafe Tray is an order that could satisfy one's entire meal but is best when shared as a starter or if you are looking for a light meal. The Mediterranean selection with the hummus and tapenade is amazing with the coconut shrimp soup being a must try with its creamy and spiciness. Though I love the almond butter cake the most to add a little dessert to the meal. The Madame of the Pletzl is one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've ever had. The bagel is perfectly salted and has a wonderful crunch the sandwich needs. The egg melts into the sandwich, mixing with everything it needs to. The ham is fried up to crisp it up a bit but the ham seems to be lacking flavor wise compared to everything else in the sandwich. The Cuban Mojo Sandwich also is an amazing sandwich. The pork shoulder is crisped up nicely and works so well with everything else. The winter soup was a tomato soup with some grilled cheese croutons and it is the best tomato soup I've ever had. The tomato soup isn't puréed, there are noticeable definitions in the tomatoes in the soup. The soup isn't too acidic which is the usual issue in tomato soups. The croutons really amplify this dish on to another level and I just wish there were more in my soup. I can't wait to come back here and my biggest issue will to try and order new things. read more

This was recommended by my cousin before my visit to Colorado. She had given me a list of places to eat, I was going to try 3 off those from the list, I decided i skip this eventually. Came here with a few work colleagues and had a great time. Sat outside in the climate controlled tent (there's a name for it) and it made for an intimate atmosphere. Servers were extremely nice and checked on us often, food and drinks came out pretty quick. Only had a light bite, but the bruschetta was great. We've had two separate friends who've had bad service there, one at the location and one with catering. But we still love it and are loyal. This spot was a random choice between my friend and I visiting from out of town, but we were so glad we made that choice. Shuga's was delicious for both food and's drink options (alcoholic and non). I'd gladly come back for these tasty sandwiches and drinks. I got the Montreal Village sandwich, and though I wished the peppered honey was a little stronger, the Brie cheese was melty and salty which balanced the sweetness from the apples, honey, and ham. I don't know a soup and sandwich can be so magical, but Shuga's figured it out! The asparagus soup was probably the best soup I've ever had. I don't know how but it is! I tried to recreate it at home but I couldn't make it as great as this. The sandwich was also really good! Pistachio, garlic, porchetta, mozzarella, basil scallion butter... what's not to love? It was balanced and actually quite filling! Everything came out super fast and our server was very nice. I loved the outdoor seating area--it was so quaint and cutely decorated! This was our first time here but the reviews were good online and the dishes seemed unique. I had a hot lemon ginger tea that was amazing and the Cao Boi sandwich (like a bahn mi) but it had lemongrass beef. We also had the shrimp soup plot twist. I thoroughly enjoyed my sandwich and the soup was good. It is advertised as spicy but I was able to eat it and I can't handle spice.
