Amazing. Shrimp tacos, breakfast burrito, chicken enchiladas with green sauce, flan, churros. All amazing. Plenty of parking. Service is amazing. Ambience spot on for the type of restaurant it is.

Easy to find location, plenty of parking, good service, and delicious food. This has been the first place that I can say is authentic Mexican. I enjoyed the chilaquiles so much. I'd had gone to another Mexican restaurant and they were good, but not as good as this ones. It reminded me of home and the chilaquiles I had back when I lived in Mexico. The agua de Jamaica was delicious too. Have to try horchata next time I go. The churros were good too, made me wanna have atole with them.

I was excited about this location but unfortunately it felt short with food and experience. Not sure what the hype is . Based on reviews I expected better food. Portions were very nice but flavors were lacking. I ordered chicken burrito . It was meh . Very one dimensional, packed with rice and very little chicken . Pozole was ok . The lady that greeted us was very pleasant but the one who took our order was cold and unwelcoming. The place was ok , nothing fancy, just a hole in the wall type of restaurant. I wouldn't return.

I'd most likely give them a 4. The pozole was tasty and the portion was huge. The side of rice was also really good. The burrito was tasty but it was mostly rice/filler. It definitely needed more meat. The staff were nice and the place had ample seating. I'd try something again.

This is one of my favorite "hole in the wall" Mexican spots in south Colorado Springs. Everything I've tried has been delicious, including tacos, burritos, beef soup, pozole, and quesabirria tacos. Their prices did go up from my visit a year ago, but it wasn't outrageous. They always have the Mexican "aguas", pineapple, Jamaica, and horchata on deck, another plus! Do yourself a favor and check it out if you're in the area, for sure!

Everything came so quickly and right to the table. Staff was friendly. We had a blast hanging out with family from out of town for his birthday.

As a Mexican visiting the US it's rare to find authentic Mexican food. And this place has it all. The experience is like walking into a restaurant in downtown Mexico City. The food is so good. And the torta ahogada that I ordered was just like the ones you can find at Guadalajara.

Carne asada burrito was tender and good. Quesabirria was also delicious and well put together and perfect portion. Carne asada fries were tender and the cheese they melted on top was delicious and fries were cooked perfectly. Tripas street tacos, wishes the tripe was crispier. Carnitas was decent. Al pastor was decent. Churros were undercooked on the inside and crunchy on the outside. The horchata was like gas station horchata.

After finding this place accidentally, while looking for a new Mexican place to try, I decided to check it out. Located in a little strip mall, I noticed upon entering that it was packed. Most tables were full & there was a small line. Their menu was extensive, but contained most of your typical dishes, easily ordered by number. I decided on a chicken chimichanga & found the price to be quite reasonable. We didn't have to wait long at all, I felt as though it was a quality fast food. The chimichanga was one of the best I've ever had. The flavors were extensive & the tortilla was crisp, but not oily or overly done. The rice & beans, again were a notch above your typical side of rice & beans. My husband had their enchiladas & there were no leftovers, always a good sign. Everything I tasted had quality, genuine flavor & I truly enjoyed eating here. Will definitely come back & sample more items on the menu!!!

Went with other's reviews and what an awesome choice!!! Located in a little strip mall and just one of those hole in the wall places that you know have treasures to offer! What an awesome meal! First, the menu is all pictures hanging from ceiling and everything is well priced for what you get. The portions were big, so could be shared between two if you really want to, but why??? We had the carne asada plate, the carnitas plate and enchiladas with ground beef. We also got chips with salsa and guacamole. The carne was flavorful and tender, the carnitas were so moist and so yummy and the sauce for the enchiladas was perfect in taste and spice. The plates come with rice and refried beans, both were so good! They serve pico and guacamole as sides and we were amazed by the several corn tortillas that came and the homemade flour tortillas. Service was quick, food came out well presented and it was hot when delivered. The prices are awesome for what you get. Bonus...checked in through Yelp and got sopapillas for dessert. Light and airy with a dust of cinnamon sugar, fried perfectly and came with some honey on top and whip cream. This was a first visit for our locals who were with us and now is on their return list when they need their Mexican food fix.

Do they offer chips and salsa before your meal here?

No because in my experience it is more of an informal restaurant. You place your order at a counter, take a number, and then the food is brought to your table. I'm not sure if you could ask for chips and salsa (perhaps for an additional charge). The… Read more

I grew up eating tamales from Grandma Carrillo. The town grandma. The food here was different than I've ever had. It was good, hot and well presented. BUT, We asked about the green chili there and got a sample to try. My brother and I know our stuff about green chili. We've never had green chili like theirs. It wasn't green chili in our sense of the word. It was more like tons of sour cream with flavorings in it. No heat and (in my opinion) kind of blah. The Chipotle sauce on the enchiladas was very different as well. Same sort cream base. When my brother and I first asked about the chili, in all honesty the waitress had no clue what we meant by green chili. I'm thinking that their versions are related to different recipes from different parts of Mexico. If that makes sense. but.. don't get me wrong, it was very good. Nice place to eat.. but give me some more common Mexican food. There was not ONE TAMALE in the menu. No sopapillas. No vermicelli. No chili con carne. Of your looking to try a different type of Mexican food, go here because it is tasty. I can NOT say I had a bad meal..... it was just something different.

New MENU & new management! Now serving Honduran and Mexican…read moredishes! We had been to this location years ago, but saw they have new owners and good reviews, so we wanted to try them again. The location is somewhat hidden, being in a strip center on Murray just south of East Platte. Don't judge this place by the façade - the food and service are excellent! We entered the restaurant and were pleasantly surprised by the clean and colorful decor and seating. A young woman, Leyri, greeted, seated, and served us. She was very friendly, helpful, and attentive. There were a couple of glitches. For one, their drink machine was out of order so only bottled drinks were available. And no iced tea. So we had water. I'm sure this will be rectified soon. Also, when Leyri brought the menus, she explained that this was a new menu and that the QR code on the table linked to the old menu. When I noted there were no prices on the new menu, she went and made a quick list of their most popular dishes and their prices for us. (Note: chips and salsa are not available.) My husband immediately decided on the chicken fajitas, by which he judges many restaurants. I decided to try one of the Honduran appetizers, the tortillas con Casillo as well as a couple of the Mexican tacos with Asada (these were what I normally call Street tacos). The food, when it arrived, looked at smelled amazing. All the ingredients were very fresh and colorful. And the taste of everything was delightful. My husband thought the fajitas may have been some of his favorites in town. He had a bite of my appetizer and thought it tasted good as well. I loved the Honduran appetizer - Tortillas con Quesillo (2 handmade tortillas with cheese in the middle. Served with cabbage, pico de gallo, tomato sauce and dressing with cheese on top). Each Mexican taco only cost three dollars, but they were delicious. Each taco was comprised of 2 corn tortillas and a lot of meat, cilantro, and onions, accompanied by a green sauce, which was delicious as well. My husband's fajitas were served with rice, beans & cheese, pico de gallo, and both red and green sauces. The red was very spicy and very tasty. The Green was perfect as a slightly milder sauce, and I enjoyed it on my tacos. Leyri was a wonderful server, checking back on us frequently and bringing whatever we asked for. When we received the check, I was shocked at how inexpensive the meal had been especially for the amount of food we received. I can't wait to return and try more of the delicious food here at Hacienda Vera.
