Torchy's in LC gets 4 stars from me. My first visit here we ordered it to go and the online order system said it would be ready at 1:15 but wasn't brought to our car unti 1:45... I don't mind waiting for food but I'd rather do it at home. The trailer park-trashy and fried avocado were great! The second visit went better, we ate inside and the line to order moved quickly but still a bit of a wait to get 2 tacos, queso wasn't on the taco like I ordered but it was fixed quickly. Food was still great. My mom won't stop talking about it. read more

All the piss poor comments and ratings you see are spot on. Customer service is nonexistent, they will act as if you're not even there. Also, the taco known as the tipsy chick in longer being offered as it was too much work to make the bacon jam that goes on it. Lastly, Torchy's used to offer customers Maine Root beverages that are handcrafted from organic sugar cane but you won't find that in their stores anymore just Coke products. read more

It took 30 minutes for them to make 2 bacon, egg and cheese breakfast tacos with 3 tables occupied in the restaurant! Absolutely ridiculous and uncalled for when business is slow. My first and last trip to that location! read more

I was reading reviews and wondering why the place is always empty. Now I know. They are literally pre making these horrible tacos and handing them to you right when you order. Please shut this place down Torchys because it is ruining your name. I've been to several different Torchys and this is a disgrace. Paying $16 dollars for 2 room temp soggy tacos and a beer. Got the Tipsy chicken excellent with green chilies queso so good with fresh chips. Friends got Republican and fajita chicken both very good. Fast and delicious.Mgr came around checking on everyone so friendly. Very clean and great service. read more

I have to say the food is really good but the management and company overall needs serious help at this new location. Management seems to be unorganized, verbally abusive and have unethical behavior( for a manager) to some of their employees. I wouldn't apply to work here anytime soon. In theory, the Torchy's Lake Charles location is a real winner. It is located on prime real estate next to an on/off ramp, where Texans, seeking a meaningful experience from a Lake Charles Casino, become confused by competing 'Casino Area' and 'Lauberge du Lac Drive' off-ramp signs on the nelson road exit. The uncertainty about how to get to the Casino accidentally results in a right turn. Desperate to make a U turn, but flustered with the yellow sticks in the middle of the road, they are forced to keep going a bit, and turn into a wal mart parking lot. At this point the Texan is exhausted, and frustrated, and sees 'Torchys', something they are familiar with. They pull in to see what it's about... mainly to just see if 'its as good' as their Torchy's. They notice the place is almost empty, and there is trash on the floor. The tables are un-bussed.. stacks of uneaten food next to empty bowls of cheese dip. The vibe is " this place will be closing in 2 weeks, so just dial it in until you have to find a new job :( ". Exhausted, they order something, unable to hear themselves speak, or hear employee taking the order. Why is this music playing? They look around and wonder is this even worth it? There's a centimeter thick layer of dust covering everything. They order - wait - wait - get the food - its cold - looks like its two bites - cost $$$$$ and now feel ripped off. Fortunately, they remember the real reason they are in Lake Charles is to go to the Casino, so they leave to go do that - except now they feel very dirty, and are reminded of the Pandemic. Maybe it's not even worth going to the Casino after all, which, conveniently enough, they notice its very easy to get back on i-210 and get the hell out of Lake Charles.. maybe forever. 3 Stars because exiting the parking lot, and making a left turn to get back on 210 westbound, is very easy. read more

Fairly well managed restaurant. The tacos were delicious and made properly for this style of restaurant. Decent cleanliness enough to pass local health standards. Wait staff was cordial and attentive refilling drinks and checking on their sections. Wait staff could be more up beat, but that is a training issue and they did a good job for their skillset. The Wait time for the two of us was decently fast for the number of patrons in the restaurant. (Restaurant was about 35% capacity)...floors were clean and there were no odd smells coming from the back... read more

Horrible! Unfriendly girl at the register - I ordered a regular beef Taco and instead got a 3 to 4" long barely half ass wrapped burrito!! This consisted of one fajita strip 1 bell pepper and a piece of cheese wrapped in a corn tortilla, not knowing Im actually getting a burrito) I ordered 2, cost me 14.89 for 2 freaking little 4" BURRITOS and a small Coke - never again!!!! I had an order set to be picked up at 1730 and it was not all ready, after waiting over 20 minutes I try to cancell the part of the order that was not ready and the lady manager would not cancel it and kept saying that she did nto know that the order was not ready, this was an order for 30 tacos and chips with cheese. She kept me there for almost 10 minutes telling me the same thing like an old record. Togive tiem for them to finish my order, she offer me some card and I told her not need it since not I or anyone in my organization will ever go to a Torchy's Taco. Food was ok but the 27 minuts delay was un acceptable and not wanted to cancel the order it was to tops. Not much of a manager that did nto know what is going on in her restaurant. My second time eating at the Torchy's in Lake Charles. It's good, but not great. If you have ever eaten at one in Houston or Austin, you know what I mean. This last visit I got the Brushfire taco. There was 1 lonely jalapeño on it and the Jamaican jerk chicken was overcooked, though was still on the tender side. I have had this taco at every Torchy's location I have been to and this one by far was the skimpiest and just not the best. Overall, I would rate the Houston and Austin locations a 5 out of 5 and the Lake Charles one 3 out of 5, which is a tad generous, but this is where I got my score of 4. I'll give them one more shot before I start making occasional taco road trips to Houston or Austin. BTW, took me over a year and a half from first visit to second visit because our to-go order we did for our first visit took 45 minutes to get AFTER we got there and parked. We were there so long both hubby and I had to go inside and use the restroom. Today's visit took longer than it should have as well and it wasn't busy at all. Only reason I didn't send my skimpy overcooked food back is I had been fasting for blood work and I'm diabetic, so I was starving. read more

This place had terrible service and was nasty. Ordered at 6:30 for food to be ready at 7:15 and ended up waiting 45 minutes after our pickup time just for the woman to tell us they didn't even start our food. There were about four tables in there who all already had their food so they definitely weren't making other food. They gave us two Mexican cokes for the wait and finally came out with our food. It was two tacos which were both ordered with corn tortillas but had flour, guacamole which they forgot the chips for, and queso which wasn't even filled up 3/4 of the way. The chips were super oily and chewy and disgusting and the chicken was undercooked and slightly pink. The beef taco had HUGE chunks of chewy gelatinous fat and had no flavor. Not to mention they forgot our actual drinks and when we went back in for them they said they ran out and gave us something else instead. Won't be going back. Fire the lazy staff and the bartender who decided that masks are worn under your chin and this place's service, if not the food too, would improve drastically. read more

I've called in an orders to go multiple times before with no issue, even when they were busy. But my order tonight was so disappointing. Not only was my order missing something (I did call to notify them) but my Baja shrimp tacos were cold. Colder than room temp, as if they were taken out of a cooler. This is just extremely disappointing and they weren't even busy. So it makes me wonder if my shrimp tacos where pre made. read more

My husband and I love Torchys Tacos but the bar tender Bryce is really unbelievable! I called about a door dash order and Bryce could have not been more helpful. The lake Charles location is incredibly slow. It hasn't been just a one time experience for us, it is always slow. If Torchy's wants to set themselves apart in lake Charles, they will train their serving and kitchen staff and managers how to efficiently run a kitchen. read more

SO DISAPPOINTED in this location!! I've been to 2 in Texas MANY times, and TT is the bomb! Never had a bad experience before. I told a friend of mine how great it is, (with the world's best queso!), so we went. But this LOCATION really lacked service on my visit. Two of us each ordered two tacos, along with queso and chips. We were finished with the queso and chips and were eating crumbs for 25 minutes before they brought our order out. Maybe 25% capacity at the time. And the little blonde girl at the register didn't have enough change to give me, so she gave me less and asked me if I was "OK with that" in an expecting way. She said "I can go get the manager if you want but there's a long line behind you"! On August 5, 2020 I go to Torchy's taco and order my tacos to go at 11:07 Am. The cashier tells me to please pull into spot number one for carry out and she would bring them right out to me. Well after sitting in my truck until 11:27 Am I called inside to see if they had forgotten about my food. There were only four people inside when my order was taken so it seems like my food shouldn't have taken that long to make. The woman that answered the phone said let me check on your food and we will have it right out to you. My food finally comes out just as about the time my 30 minute lunch break is over. When I open the bag to my surprise I have seen bigger breakfast burritos from McDonalds than the tacos that I had just paid $12.68 for. The shrimp taco had two shrimp on it. Wow this is the first and last time I spend time or money at this place. It's sad the price you pay for food and you would expect more. read more

Placed an online order that was to be ready at 2:53pm. I checked in with the pick-up crew a minute or so before the time it was to be ready, they took my name, stated it wasn't ready yet but I needed to park my car in slot 6 and they would bring it out to me. After nearly 20 minutes of waiting I decided to go back to see where my order was in process. The guy stepped out, took my information again and brought me our bag of food. The bag itself was quite cold and the food was barely room temperature. Nothing was labeled and all the different sauces were just thrown in the bag. On top of this, I provided a tip when I placed my order. I don't think I will ever use them for takeout again and it's not likely that I will eat at the establishment in Lake Charles. I love this place. The frozen margaritas are the best with fresh lime and agave tequilas and weekday Happy Hour specials and weekend drink specials. Nice bar area with large screen TVs and a great family dining area including an outdoor patio area. The homemade guacamole, salsas, and queso is damn good as well as a variety of tacos. If you are looking for a lighter healthy choice order the Airstream salad with a variety of proteins. Friendly staff. Great addition to Lake Charles area read more
