What an amazing find. We were looking for a good Pinot and we found wonderful wines here. Not only were the wines amazing but Frank (Poncho) was such a great host. So laid back and friendly. The biggest surprise was the sparkling rose, worth a trip over there just for that. You won't find this tasting room location on the Chamber of Commerce map so follow the map in yelp and make the short walk around to the alleyway. It was the best stop we made. This tasting room was so much fun. One person working and a full tasting room. This guy was flowing through the crowd and helping everyone with his awesome service. We did one tasting and he was very informative about their wine they had Spanish music playing in the background, very lively. The wine was good and they have a restroom in their plaza. This is very important when you're in this small town not all places have restrooms it's not their fault but it's an inconvenience when you're drinking. It's dog friendly if you like taking your pup wine tasting. I would recommend this tasting room to anyone wanting to have a good time and delicious wine. My friend and I were trying to pick out the last tasting room we were going to try, we were battling between two options. I stopped a local that was walking her dog and asked for her suggestion between the ones we were looking at, and she suggested Toretti. Which end up being a real winner. One of the reasons that they were put on my list is because they have three Pinot Noirs. If you're around the Los Olivos area tasting then you're going to get a lot of chardonnays, rosés and syrahs, so finding a place with three pinot noirs is a gold mine. "Poncho" (says that's what the owner calls him) was the one to help us. He went above and beyond, taking his time talking about the wines, history of them with each pour. He also introduced us to the owner, Mr. Robert Torres, who happened to be there, and had just celebrated his birthday (in his 90's). Robert sat down with us, with his glass of wine. He most definitely is a spry guy and seems a lot younger than 90's. He told us about his history and the history of his land, and how he created the winery. Our tasting included: Chardonnay, Rosé, three Pinot Noirs. My friend and I are not fans of rosé, but we end up going home with a bottle. And a bottle of Pinot. Frank provided excellent customer service during the tasting and we all had a great time. We even got to meet the owner and talk to him for a little bit. The only unexpected thing was that I thought it was located at an actual vineyard due to some of the photos on Yelp, but that may just have been to show where the wine comes from. We were in Solvang for a weekend and wanted to try a wine tasting so we popped up to Los Olivos because this place had a Groupon. The deal was great - $27 for wine tasting for two and a take home bottle of Rosé. They are the only ones with such a good deal in the area since they are off the main path. The server was hilarious and super friendly. He was a lot of fun to talk with, and he gave us a good quick background on the winery which is small, relatively new and makes only Pinot noir wines (except for ones they contract out). The tasting had one contracted wine (a Chardonnay) and four of their pinots (with various levels of oaking), and the server threw in a sixth wine as well. I know very little about wine, but I enjoyed all but one, which was the rosé (the bottle for take home). Fortunately my wife liked that the most, so we were overall pretty happy. The 40% oak was my favorite (the "Inocencio"). They also make candles in recycled wine bottles that have the spirit of wine scents and smelled soooo good. read more

Discovered this "small boutique" vineyard through a Groupon deal that included a tasting for two + bottle of Pinot Noir. We had a fantastic Saturday afternoon visit here with Frank, who guided us through tasting 5 Pinot Noirs and one Chardonnay. When we arrived, a few visitors were wrapping up their tasting, so we had the place to ourselves for the majority of our stay. Frank, who is relatively new to the industry and has already begun making his own wine, shared a lot of fun knowledge with us about the wines, along with recommendations for where to go next on our weekend adventure (e.g. Cold Spring Tavern off Stagecoach Road!). The ATMOSPHERE of the tasting room is super cozy and has lots of character with several musical instruments stationed around the room (trumpet, trombone, guitar, double bass, drum) -- I'd love to see this place on a night with some musicians around! And finally, and arguably most importantly, the PINOTS here were the most delicious of all the wine tastings we did in Santa Barbara / Los Olivos combined. one of the stops on our 5 year anniversary Los Olivos wine trip. the wine here was pretty good. the tasting room is nothing extravagant, but, it is very homey. the best part about this place is the storytelling of the family patriarch and winery namesake. we lucked out and got a bar seat on a busy labor day weekend. while getting our tasting, our barkeep told us the origins of the winery as well as the story of its owner, who happens to NOT be italian! that's the extent of the story line i'll be divulging on yelp. you have to stop by in here and grab a taste and let them gab on your ear for a bit while looking at the amazing pictures on the walls. overall, a very easy going spot and a definite must stop. read more

This is a tiny side street tasting room. This was my second time here. Both times it was one of the most relaxed wine tasting experiences I've had. It's family-run and you'll most likely meet them. I joined their wine club. I figured it was worth visiting a couple of times a year. Plus, this place has a secret...they have a bathroom. If you've been to Los Olivos you've discovered the incredible shortage of bathrooms. The town is on septic and they can't accommodate more so...wine tasters get the row of port-a-potties lined up on a side street. read more

Just opened an 09 Pinot we bought several years ago. Dusty bottle hidden in my cellar and hate to say, we forgot about this little winery in Los Olivos. I can't say enough good things about Toretti Family Vineyard. The wines here are truly exemplary! There is not one wine that I do not like here. While I have many more wines to taste in the region and I really know none percent of the total wines in the world, I would venture to say that the Pinots here are some of the best around, and certainly the best I've had. It is a nice break from the prevailing Syrahs and Sauv Blancs from this area. There is a richness and bold nature to many of their Pinots here. Yet the subtlety and delicate nature of Pinot's fruity florals still remains on some of the others. Then there is the Chardonnay which perfectly showcases what Chardonnay can be without all of that nasty buttery-oak flavors that winemakers are finally getting rid of. And finally, I have no words for the Syrah. Okay, I have a few: Warm, transporting and mystical. To round out your experience here, you will find Milena. She will make you feel very welcome with the most friendly of smiles, and of course, she is quite knowledgeable of the wines. If you come here often as I do, you may spot one of her lovely children and perhaps even Robert Torres himself. This is as family as wine gets! read more

Last stop on the tasting room rounds turned out to be the best. The interior is appointed with cushy sofas and interesting decorative pieces. You can sit for a while and drink the heavy pours they give you. But it was the wines that really stood out. - Chardonnay was quite good for being Pinot specialists - Rose of Pinot was nice and dry without being over dry - 2012 Pinot Noir Inocencio nice simple complexity, not too jammy, easy to drink - 2013 Pinot Noir bolder and more complex, things are getting interesting and I was contemplating buying everything up to then - 2013 Inocencio/Valentino mix (more Inocencio) was a bit confusing to me and couldn't tell a whole lot of difference from the previous wine - 2013 Valentino/Inocencio (more Valentino) hit me with impact as complex, fruity, well rounded, everything a Pinot should be - 2011 Pinot Noir that won Gold at SF Chronicle really light yet full body with a variety of things going on so with complexity, something that you want to drink chilled on a summer day All were wonderful wines with the last 2013 clone mix really standing out for me. I bought two bottles of that and a Rosada de Pinot Noir. read more

My husband and I have visited this winery and taken several friends with us. While the 2nd time we didn't enjoy as much due to the hospitality issues of the pourer, I liked their wine so I thought I'd overlook that issue (from March 2015) and take 4 of my girlfriends here. All of them loved the wine, it was the only winery we visited where all 5 of us made purchases. Additionally they offer discounts for purchasing 3,6,12 bottles of wine (at this time, not sure if they always offer that) For reds they currently only do Pinot Noir, they also had a Chardonnay; which is the one we all enjoyed and purchased. It has a slight tannin to it and it was perfect. Would recommend a stop here, generally a fun place when you get a great hostess at the bar. read more
