They make the best chili verde omelettes!! We've been coming here for years, and the food is always fresh, tasty, and served up with generous portions! Hubby and I have never been disappointed with anything we've ordered. Everyone who works here is very welcoming and friendly, and they are so helpful. I have never seen this place dirty or in disarray, no matter what time we've come in. We also like that they have nice, covered outdoor seating for when we have our dog with us. I was sitting here in Reno, NV thinking about how much I missed Taco Loco and their chile relleno burritos. I grew up in Lompoc and this was one of my "go to" counter style, homemade Mexican food places. I was thinking about how their yummy goodness is smothered in cheese and how it slides down your throat. What I would give to be able to jump in my car and take a drive to visit family and sit there with my son while he enjoys his "go to" quesadilla. This is a family owned restaurant. They did, however, get the request for "no onions" correct, and the pastor was pretty good. Through every bite, I was thinking, "Okay, the rice has got to be at the very end. This tiping thing is getting ridiculous and especially if you're not even eating in. Then, to default it to 30% is just insane. Horrible customer service by the cashiers. I tried to make an order in English and the first cashier couldn't understand a simple taco order. Then I asked her if she wanted me to tell her the order in Spanish and suddenly she called in mocking way in English to another girl cashier for help. Honestly very disappointed customer service. This location is so much better than the one on Central! Here you get all of your food and you get salsa when you order it! I placed an order at the other place for 14 oz of salsa, the kid says oh we are out sorry and expected me to just leave it alone...i told him i got an order of chips what am i supposed to do with a ton of chips and no salsa? He offered me a refund, but i wasn't having it. Finally the chief made us some salsa.... it was not salsa but it was good enough to put on chips and I appreciated his effort. We ordered a couple of burritos and It didn't take that long however when we got the burritos home they almost look like the same size of frozen burritos pretty small burritos for the amount that they charge. The wifey and I planned a day trip to see the flower fields which we were disappointed in and needed to eat as we hadn't had breakfast yet. We saw El Toro Loco and decided to give it a try. We weren't disappointed. My wife had the huevos rancheros plate and I had the chilaquiles plate. We also shared a quesabirria which was bomb. Our food came out quick and was the perfect temperature. Except for the quesabirria which was piping hot. Not a problem as we ate our food while it cooled down. The service was great as well. We went into the El Toro Bronco on Central tonight and the service was unbelievable. I don't know if the cook just ignored us because he didn't like us for some reason or what. We ordered three burger specials we told the cashier we wanted two for here and one to go. Five minutes later after ordering my son called and said he was coming to join us so we went up and ordered one more burger meal to go. About twenty minutes later the cashier brought us two burger meals for here. I told her to please bring the to go burgers also. Other customers came in after that and order to go orders. The cook prepared every order after ours and made ours last. We were the first people in and the last out. It took one hour to get our to go burgers. They had closed this taco loco and they recently re-opened but it's NOT the same people. My family and I were obsessed with their delicious chilaquiles and would buy them all the time. Taco Loco #2 rose to the top 3 of our list for 'best breakfast burrito's' in all of CA! In the summer of 2012 my partner and I went on a mission: to find the best breakfast burrito, the best vegan restaurant, and experience natural phenomena in CA. We succeeded with all these, thanks to Taco Loco #2. Our criteria for selection: 1. the tortilla had to be home made or at least grilled warm so the flavors soaked in better, 2. the beans had to be stewing overnight or at least a long time; they had to be frijoles (pintos) and somewhat 'stewey', 3. it needed papas (potatoes) that were well cooked, but not too many of them, and well spiced 4. it needed huevos (eggs) that were scrambled just right, and not too much eggs in the burrito. 5. the salsa needed to be fresh, spicy, and tasty (either fresca, verde, or other was ok) Our other breakfast burrito champions: Tacos Por Favor in Santa Monica Baldemiros in Seaside (near Monterrey) *The really stewey beans and papas options for hash browns made all the difference! Was excited to try this place but was very disappointed, I ordered a burrito with carne asada but most the the "meat" was gristle and very hard to eat. I ended up taking most of it out and eating the other filling. My daughter ordered chicken tacos, turns out they cook their tacos exactly like jack in the box where the meat and shell are fried together, the shell was way over cooked and the burnt chicken inside was very unappetizing. All I can say is I'm coming back!!! The carne asada wasn't reheated it was grilled fresh. The al pastor wasn't dry, the meat was moist, not juicy, but moist and flavorful. The beans are not refried in lard, thank god because I would have gotten heart burn. They have a small salsa bar with chips. The salsas are flavorful. You won't regret Taco Loco.. We use to love the place that was at this location before. They had great priced tacos that were very tasty. They ended up closing down for some reason and now being replaced with this current establishment. The new place does not have the deep discount for tacos like the old place, but the flavor and variety of options is still there.
