We had Floriano's cater our party this weekend for 50 and the team was great and the food was very tasty. All of our guests commented on how good the tacos and quesedilla's were. Arrived in town, looking for a solid meal. This place was perfect. We placed our order, paid for it and sat down. 10 minutes later our food arrived. We opted for the shrimp ceviche tostado which was full of plump shrimp. Everything was well seasoned. We also had the beef tongue taco salad, which was full of tender tongue. We had the children's taco order (2) carnitas which came with beans and rice. Very tasty and proportioned nicely. We thoroughly enjoyed sampling the salsa bar. Was in Lompoc for a business meeting and Floriano's was mentioned so I decided to give it a try. The food was absolutely delicious, I did the meat plate and had the steak which was so yummy. Additional, I tried a crunchy taco. The service was great and i appreciated the recommendations. Thought I would give this play a try. Food meh. Salsa from the salsa bar watery and flavorless, and the "carne asada" looked like tiny bits of ground beef with absolutely no flavor. Chips meh. I was very surprised but wanted to keep an open mind. The staff were friendly, no chicken salad on menu, not sure I'll try again. MUCH prefer Toro Loco on Ocean Ave, Lompoc. They have AN OUTSTANDING salsa bar that is so fresh, and chips are too. And they offer Taco Tuesday. The chef always makes sure the food is the freshest, and the burritos are gigantic enough for two. Service was good. Food was meh. My friend got the veggie burrito and said it was really dry. I got the shredded chicken burrito with tomatillo sauce and it had zero flavor. They brought me a side of sour cream but it was really watery and ended up just going on the plate and off the burrito. Prefer El Toro Burrito for sure. read more

Stop what you're doing, as you need this place!! Order at the counter, helpful staff. I tried the (big bowl) of spicy green posole (one of the specials) which was incredible! It came with a large platter of accompaniments--fresh finely diced onions, cilantro, radishes, tortilla chips, little containers of what I think was dried epazote or oregano and fresh red chile paste, as well as wedges of lemon and lime. The pork was cooked to tender shreds, and the soup had a generous amount of it. I definitely want to return for the mild red posole or menudo. There is a salsa bar with at least 6 choices, everything was good. They have soda, tea, and fountain agua frescas at a help yourself station. Tamarindo is my favorite. Husband had a platter of carne asada street tacos which he liked. Also a butcher counter up front to purchase fresh meat. The seating includes large comfy booths and tables. Your food is delivered to your table. I wasn't very hungry after a day of travel, but the food was so flavorful, I ate it all. Very affordable prices, too. read more

The food is delicious! I've had the soft tacos, burrito, chimichangas, and shrimp cocktail. Let them know and they can customize your order. Don't want the beans in your burrito? Have em on the side. Love pico de gallo? Salsa? Load up at the salsa bar and squeeze that lime all over. They offer a ribeye meat selection here which is very flavorful. The shrimp cocktail is served in a bowl plentiful with shrimp and avocado. This is my go-to place. I personally did not enjoy how self served this place was. You had to get your own menus, order your food at the counter, serve your own drinks. When coffees were brought we had to ask for the creamer and the sugar. Perhaps we are really pampered in other restaurants but I certainly wasn't expecting a sit down place to be like this. Then when we were served the lady didn't even which plate didn't have what asked to excludes. Though I have to say Alex was an incredible server he was very attentive otherwise. Everyone who works here seems to be nice and helpful. But the food!!! I crave their burritos!!! I go home and dream of them. They are huge (I generally make two meals from one and I'm a big eater!). I've tried lots on their menu and all of it has been delicious. They have a newer space (across the street from their old location) that will accommodate more folks so now it's easier to take groups to eat there. Everyone from work has an enthusiastic yes if it's suggested we eat there! Hard to get that response from other places!! Now, to talk about their meat counter...oh goodness. Makes you want to immediately go to the grill and start cooking. Nice, thick, well marbled beef. Steaks, ribs, chicken, pork belly just to name a few. So it turns out there is a difference between a "carnitas burrito" and a "michoacan burrito", even though a Michoacán burrito says it's a carnitas burrito. These two items are different on the menu and maybe it was on me to clarify which one I wanted, maybe they should have clarified which one they were giving me. Idk but I got the wrong one. I would have loved to have the sour cream and pico de gallo instead of full of onions like I got without the sour cream and pico. Also, I would have thought that with all the other authentic food, I would have gotten authentic horchata. But, instead it was out of the fountain drinks completely watered down with no love or flavor in it. So I'm disappointed On the other hand, everyone appeared to be super friendly. Our recent stay in Lompoc found us hungry for Mexican food after a day of exploring Solvang, beaches, mountains, and other natural areas broken up by Vandenburg interests. We didn't have to go far from our no-tell motel to find Floriano's. In our native SoCal, I tend to stick to the rule of only eating Mexican fast food at places that end in -erto's (Humberto's, Rigoberto's, Roberto's, Alberto's, Alfredo's... ok, there's an exception...) but this place had pretty good Yelp reviews, and candidly, was the only place open in Lompoc, where restaurants fold up after 8 PM faster that Superman on laundry day... Walking in, we noticed a diverse menu, seat-yourself tables and booths, and the Dodger game on on a dozen flatscreens. Mrs. Picante and I ordered tacos of carne asada and pollo, respectively, and settled in with our fountain drinks to watch a little baseball and relax. Our food was brought to the table, and we were reminded to check out the salsa bar. ... and what a salsa bar! Probably dozens of different combinations of different salsas-- chipotle, habanero, jalapeño, crema, pico de gallo, verde/tomatillo... you name it. All good, and some-- like the habanero-- were actually SPICY! Dr. Picante approves of the salsa kick here! Food was pretty good and about what we expected-- tasty, hot, and a nice side of rice and beans to round out the plate.
