I ordered the Quesa Birra, my dad had the chicken tacos and daughter had the fajita burrito and let me tell you. I'm going to be hard pressed to find a better place, and I don't say that lightly! The cook or I assume owner came to us and made sure everything was perfect. It was beyond perfect and then began to chat with us a bit. He takes his business very seriously. We also learned he has 2 sons serving in both the Marine Corps and Army. Literally I don't think there would be a thing on this menu that would not be 5 stars. Again, I don't say that lightly. Best nachos I've ever had. The chips were actually cut from their own corn tortillas and prepared fresh, unlike other restaurants that'll typically just put in bag chips and call it good. The guacamole and sour cream were fresh, and the asada was cooked well and had a delicious tang to it. My mouth is watering just thinking of it again... that should tell you enough. Went tonight for dinner as we saw it being recommended on instagram. Food was bland, my land and sea burrito had shrimp with the shells still on it, the asada was burnt and the rice was hard. So this has always been a place for good menudo! And today as my husband is eating menudo over chewing takes out a big nasty nail press on nail, my husband calls the women who brings the food gives to her tells her this was in my menudo, she takes it to the man cooking Not one of them returned to our table to even apologize! That's all we wanted as paying customers for yrs we bring our friends here who visit us, we are not scammers trying to get a free meal I couldn't even continue eating cause who knows where the other 9 acrylic nails are now? We are very disappointed in the food and service no apology at all. Absolutely the best burrito I ever had. Got the wet chorizo burrito (no rice) smothered in red chili sauce. The chorizo was flavorful with little grease. The red chili sauce had real chili flavor and was not watered down like most do. A real mom and pop shop with abuela minding the grandchild while serving. Order was prompt and the cold beer was crisp and the right accompaniment to the meal. Cost was very reasonable for a large burrito I had to take home when I could not finish it. We were not looking for the holy grail of taquerias, we were just looking for a decent place to eat. This taco shop is a ways out of town but still a quick drive in a shopping mall that would have been a great back drop for a Mexican/spaghetti western. As we walked into this place we were greeted with some Mexican old songs that took me back to my acne face and the memories started flowing! This was THEE sign that was divine intervention and so our next stop is to the local mission to light a few candles! We basically ordered one of each of what was available on the menu, oink!!! The arrival and presentation of my taco plate was a work of Modern Art! The only complaint at this point was the smallish size of the tacos but I'm on a self inflicted diet so it felt medically right. I started off with the Al Pastor taco and poured some sugar on it (salsa verde and salsa Colorada) and I was ready to find the truth! The taco was pure revelation, it was perfection in two small tortillas. I was still amazed and perplexed at the magical culinary and immediately grabbed for the Rajas Tacos. Never having experienced a Rajas Taco I prepared it like a surgeon and used my surgical mouth to devour this new patient! Pure Bliss!! Then there were only three left on my plate and the count down/chow-down began. I was left perplexed, amazed, excited and confused at what had just happened. So there was only one thing left to do and order a Tripas and another Al Pastor taco to double check my experience. If you are within a 250 mile radius your next assignment is to accept this new culinary mission and drive straight to Taqueria La Mision. You will find what you have been looking for! Sooo we order here a lot. We have so far liked everything we order....except one thing we experienced today which is why it's 4 instead of 5 stars. We ordered Mar Y Tierra (steak and shrimp) and as I take a bite of a shrimp I see something rather unpleasant. The digestive tract was not removed and it wasn't just one shrimp was missed...it was ALL the shrimp and these large shrimps had some pretty full sacks of poop in them. We stopped eating but after googling, apparently it's safe to eat, it's just an unpleasant sight and experience. So we tried not to think about it and just finish our dinner. Some of the shrimp wound up in the garbage cause we just couldn't get over the thought. We will order here again but will forego any seafood from here on out. read more

We were in Lompoc for dinner and needed help to find a good restaurant. So where do I turn?? Yelp of course!! I saw this Taqueria and hoped it would live up to the five star reviews. Well it sure did!! First off the Taqueria is located outside of the downtown area, in a more residential area. It is located in mini-mall, where there are only two things open at night. There are many free parking spots in front. The sign was turned off but we found it anyway. We called in our order and brought it back to eat. There were inside dining spots with a few patrons. The service was friendly. Our to go order was as we ordered. I must say I am pretty picky about Mexican food and this was excellent! The carnitas plate was so flavorful. The pinto beans was creamy and perfectly cooked. I rarely eat most restaurant Mexican rice, as it usually flavorless and dry. Not so here, the rice was moist and full of flavor! The carnitas were really crispy but moist, yes it was fried so it not something to get if on a diet. Such a great choice. The nachos were generously covered with the toppings. The chips were homemade, fresh Pico de gallo, pastor was moist and flavorful. We ran out of chips because there was so much toppings. Guacamole also was fresh and good. The salsas were a little spicy but delicious. Do yourself a favor and give this place a try. If we are in Lompoc again we will be back. read more

I decided to give this new taqueria a try since I was a regular with the previous business that was located here and I love tacos so why not ! I ordered 2 Asada , 1 chorizo taco and 1 hard shell chicken taco to go. My total was $8.62 plus a couple bucks for the tip . Order was made in a timely manner considering the fact they only had 2 other customers dining in . The soft tacos were good especially the chorizo one , must try ! Green salsa is on point if you like spice. My only complaint is when I got to my hard shell chicken taco , I opened it up because all I bit into was tortilla, sadly I noticed the chicken amount was so skimped out! WOW, what a disappointment. We went Friday and liked it so much we went back again Saturday! Perfect place to have in mind when you dont want to venture into Lompoc. Restaurant is nice but majority of orders placed were to-go. The kitchen is open to view and food was cooked to order. We tried to carnitas nachos (5/5), carne asada burrito (5/5) and the ceviche tostada (3/5) my rating is solely personal preference since I dont like mayo with ceviche. Next time we will take pics!
