Took the family out for taco Tuesday. Had a great time the staff was super friendly and great with the kids. The service was very prompt and courteous. I had one of the carne Asada burritos and it was very good. The ratio of steak and rice to beans was good and the vegetables were cooked nicely with still a little bit of bite to them. The plate was hot so my food stayed warm until I finished and the cheese and toppings were flavorful. The kids all had tacos and finished them up pretty quick. I had a Modelo on tap and it was warm, maybe that's how they drink it in Mexico lol. I really enjoyed the place and would eat there again.

Loved this Mexican restaurant within walking distance of the lakefront and the Coeur d'Alene Resort. When I ordered the taco salad without meat, they offered to add more beans and avocados - so delicious! The staff was also very friendly and encouraged us to practice our Spanish :)

I had a hunger for Mexican food while here in Idaho yes Idaho. I have passed by this restaurant many times while here and decided to go in today. I ordered the chicken mole with black beans and Mexican rice with a side of guacamole. I just wanted some water and they brought me some complimentary chips and salsa. well the chips weren't warm the salsa was okay and I went through about half the bowl and I drank a full glass of water... unfortunately that is all that I had. I was there for almost a half an hour and still had not received my food. As I walked out I let the waitress know to cancel my order... the waitress responded that she was sorry but they are very busy. I did have the opportunity to go to both sides of the restaurant (remember I drank a whole glass of water) and needless to say I've seen busier places and have received my food a lot faster.

I wanted authentic Mexican food and was not disappointed, the food here is very delicious!! The staff is very friendly and courteous. I was made to feel very welcome. You get a lot of food so you definitely will not leave hungry, if you do it's your fault!

Great chili verde, enchiladas, chimichanga and chili Rellenos! This is our go to Mexican in CDA!

Okay geez wow! Have you tried the new Kylie Sweet Pork Burrito??? I was in a few weeks ago and asked Junior if he had a sweet pork burrito?? My son Kylie loves sweet pork burritos!... He admitted he did not... Apparently I motivated him because the next time I saw him, he said hey! I was thinking about it and I invented a very special sweet pork burrito for your son! Well, of course I felt obligated to try one. So I immediately ordered one of his special sweet pork burritos. I took it home to my son, Kylie, and he said "it was absolutely the worst Burrito I ever ate." (please see the picture!!) Was able to grab a couple of bites before my son Kylie devoured it... it's so sweet! But then it kicks you a little bit! I really can't describe it! It is definitely one of the best sweet pork burritos I've ever had! And I think Junior for his creativity! And I think my son Kylie for his inspiration! Next time you're at Toro Viejo, do yourself a favor and order the Kylie Sweet Pork Burrito! (Okayyyyy they probably won't name it after my boy)... You won't regret it! And special thanks to Junior and all of his staff. They always listen to their customers and they always pay special attention to suggestions and advice. What a great, wonderful, amazing family restaurant! I will continue to go there for many years to come!

They have a huge selection of regular and alcoholic beverages including wine, beer, seltzers, and canned cocktails. Two entrees ended up being $50. The layout is not ideal, a good chunk of the room is taken up by the bar and then there are 4 shared tables that sit about 8 so it feels a bit like a dining hall when you're sharing a table with other groups. But the steak plate was truly a treat!! I got the 1/2 lb beef plate and it felt like a really hefty portion, full of flavor and juicy with that grill deliciousness. If you're gluten free, the tortillas are a corn and flour blend, but they do have plain corn tortillas. The vegetarian bowl was $16 which is meh for beans, rice, and potatoes, but the husband enjoyed it. Seemed really busy, glad to have a healthy, fresh option in town.

But pay no heed and do yourself a favor and just go eat here. The staff is the sweetest. We are a vegetarian party so we ended up with veggie burrito, tostada salad, tacos, fries, and Horchata. These guys don't skimp on ingredients. I asked for extra rice and they didn't charge me. Horchata was perfection. Try their salsas--both Roja and verde which they keep in the drinks fridge. Chips and a spicy salsa are complimentary. The Enchiladas come with a red or green sauce, so I chose the green. It had a great flavor and the enchiladas had plenty of cheese. However, the inside was lukewarm and the cheese was not melted. You could still see the shreds. I took them home for another meal. As to the tacos, they fry their handmade corn tortillas and they have a good flavor. Unfortunately the ground beef has little to no flavor. Luckily I had salsa left over and used it to spice them up. They come with plenty of shredded lettuce, diced onions, and two types of shredded cheese. They have 8 tables and they had a steady stream of customers for both to go orders and dine in. The restaurant is clean and average noise level.

We were greeted and immediately taken to a cute booth with beautiful scenery painted on the table and hand painted flowers on the back of the booths. It was nicely bright and a welcoming atmosphere. Our server, Billie, took our drink order, dropped off warm chips and 2 salsas: hot and mild, and gave us time to look over the menu. Both salsas were tasty and of course, I preferred the spicy one. Also it just hit better with the warm homemade tortilla chips. I went with my fav drink of Horchata and liked how they noted 1 refill. The horchata was ice cold and delicious--it didn't have that waxy taste like some horchatas I've had before. I ordered the #33 Spicy Shrimp with Rice and Beans and my roommate got the daily special of 1 Enchilada and 1 Taco with Rice and Beans and with a cup of chicken tortilla soup. My roommate LOVED the soup and said it was chunks of chicken vs shredded chicken. He really liked the flavor and plans to get it again. Our plates arrived super hot, which I'm a fan of--I'd rather wait for my food to cool down some vs your first bite being luke-warm. The shrimp wasn't as spicy as I thought it would be, and that's partially my fault because I should have asked about the spice level. I like and can handle a lot of heat lol. Nonetheless, the shrimp had great flavor and the guacamole was bright and fresh and so good. The hot corn tortillas with the HOT rice and beans just paired so well together. My roommate tends to get the same plate, just at different restaurants. He said his combo plate was a winner and really liked the season on the rice. Billie did a fabulous job taking care of us today and we'll definitely be back.

It's not like in Los Angeles where you can't walk 1 mile down the street without tripping over a taco truck. That being said, I think the Mexican Food Factory (MFF) could hold it's own even in SoCal. Here are some reasons to try it; 1. Fresh ingredients. Especially the taco sauce. It tastes like it is made that morning. Seasoned but not overwhelmed with habanero or something. Delicious. Meats are not oily but still very tender and juicy. Ground beef is even juicy and tender. Did I mention the fresh taco sauce? 2. Cooking style. It's fast and made to order. Wait is short but realistic considering they are making your order as it comes in. Nothing prepared and sitting under a heat lamp ahead of time. They even toast the soft tortillas which is a huge flavor enhancer. They don't have gourmet ceviche or swordfish tacos but if you like distinct and discernable flavors in your meals it works here. 3. Small shop vibe. Cinderblock style place with an eating area outside at least as big as inside. Bright murals painted upon it. It's next to a road but traffic is slow and not too noisy. Clean as can be. Same employees in the kitchen for many months. 4. Value. If you shop around and are honest with yourself, I think you will agree that prices are not nice to us now. I don't know where else to find the quality of ingredients, speed of service, and no drama atmosphere at these prices. The daily specials are the way to try a lot of different things over time with a cost savings. Taco Tuesday crunch-fest awaits. Improvement? Yes of course. Open on the weekend please. In the name of all things Holy. We need our after church enchiladas. Also small size street tacos are needed. Radish, lime, cilantro, cotija crumbled on Lengua on a 4 inch soft tortilla. I'll take 6 of those to go down to the lake for a nice lunch. Por favor.
