stopped by the plaza premium lounge in terminal 3 domestic around 3:00 pm on a friday, so as you can imagine, it was pretty packed. even with the crowds, though, the seating was actually quite comfortable, which made it a nice little escape from the craziness happening out at the gates. the massive windows do make the lounge feel a bit warm in the afternoon, especially with the direct sun coming through. thankfully, the staff eventually lowered the blinds, and that made a huge difference. suddenly, the space felt much cozier and a lot more comfortable. the clearing crew also deserves some credit because they were completely on the ball. empty plates didn't stand a chance, they were quick to whisk them away almost as soon as you finished eating, which helped keep the busy lounge surprisingly tidy. the food, unfortunately, was where things fell a little flat. i tried the udon coconut curry, which sounded much better than it actually was. the chicken was super dry, almost like it had been repurposed from an earlier meal, and that really took away from the dish. the cauliflower soup wasn't much more exciting either. it was pretty bland, with a heavy hit of black pepper doing most of the work. even the chai was a miss for me. it was an absolute sugar bomb and just way too sweet. at that point, i decided the bakery corner was probably the safer bet. the white chocolate macadamia cookies were actually pretty decent and reminded me of the cookies from costco, which, honestly, is not a bad thing when you're craving a reliable airport cookie. at the end of the day, i think the lounge is more about the escape than the food. having somewhere comfortable to sit, get away from the terminal noise, grab something to eat and drink, and just relax before a flight is definitely worth something, especially when the gates are packed. membership has its privileges...and apparently one of those privileges is getting to sit somewhere comfortable while everyone else is battling for a seat at the gate. just don't go in expecting a stellar meal, and you'll probably appreciate the lounge for what it does best: giving you a little breathing room before takeoff. read more

This is my go-go spot whenever waiting for my flight at Pearson airport. I usually take morning flights, so there were always enough seats and relatively quiet. Today's my first time visiting here in the afternoon (around 3pm) and get why people say it could get quite crowded. Still there's table for me and food were quickly getting refilled. Limited selection, but pretty decent spot being able to stay up to 2hrs with charging options and unlimited coffee & food including desserts, especially considering the overpriced dining options at the airport. Honestly, this was one of the worst airport lounge experience we've had. Checking in on a Monday evening in July, there was a wait. There's a helpful QR code you scan to join the waitlist. After only 15 minutes, we were in as a party of two. However, once inside, the space is very small, crowded, and dirty. With everyone's luggage, it's hard to walk through. The food and drink selection aren't great. There's a little hot food area, soup, and fountain soda. Nothing we ate or drank was good. The Mac and cheese was dry and lacked flavor. We stayed for little less than a couple of hours before our international flight. The check-in was quick and it was busy but not crowded. People were constantly checking in and checking out. The inside was clean and staff worked constantly to pick up dishes and clean up. The staff were courteous. The wi-fi was a bit patchy where we were sitting near the kids play area. The seats were comfortable and we were ok after sitting for sometime. The food was good and we wish there were more choices for vegans/vegetarians or even more food choices, period, for all. This lounge is located in the terminal only for US depertures. I came around Friday 5pm when it was packed, had to enroll in the waitlist first. Luckily my turn came within 5 minutes. Check-in process was simple, just had show my membership in the app. Upon entering found that the lounge was really small. Probably held about 50-60 guests. Most of the tables were in the back side of the lounge. The small bar was right in front of the entrance. On the left side of they had few more couches and booths. The food station had few dishes and salads. Drink station had soda dispenser and coffee machines. The dessert station was near the entrance. It wasn't surprising at all that they were at max capacity. I was really pleased with the food they served. The rice was so good, it had such nice aroma. The chicken was also delicious. I got multiple servings of both of them. The tap beer was also good. Staff members were working hard to keep restocking the station while also cleaning up all the tables with left over dishes and glasses. Despite the limited crowded space and messy stations, I was glad to find this lounge for some quick meal and drinks since this terminal has such limited choices, and most of them are mediocre. Small lounge at Pearson Airport (Terminal 3). I get in through the Visa Airport Companion program, and have luckily never experienced being waitlisted or turned away. Guess it's about timing though, as I've heard from my friends that it's always super crowded. The breakfast eggs are often overcooked to death, turning into this grey-greenish solid. And the cleanliness of the tables, plates, and cups are sometimes questionable. Around 11ish they start serving lunch, and the selection is slightly better than breakfast. I've come across their butter chicken curry a few times, and it's quite alright. We were between flights headed to Venice, Italy. We had several hours to kill and this served as a great spot to do just that. The meatballs were probably the best thing they had that day, but it's inconsistent. The first one I had was fine and tasted like a meatball. The second one was hard and cold and had way too much of the sweet glaze. The chicken shawarma is a hard pass. It was dry and flavorless. The buttered pasta was bland and soggy. The other foods available did not look good. They have drinks here, so maybe that's the way to go. You can't go wrong with soda, water and beer in cans. They also had some yogurt in the fridge. That was alright. There's nothing premium about this lounge. It's way too crowded and the food isn't good. It was quite underwhelming. The food was similar to the free breakfast you'd get at a Best Western hotel. There were scrambled eggs, sausages, french toast, hash browns, a bread station, a juice dispenser, a coffee machine, and a soda machine. This lounge is very tight and was basically completely full the time I was there. I felt that it was understaffed. I was there for a solid couple hours and did not see anyone manning the bar. The food was okay. The best thing I had was meatballs. Those were actually pretty solid. The rest was nothing to write home about. There's a nice coffee machine available for self serve. Beautiful new Plaza Premium lounge at Pearson Airport, Terminal 3, Domestic departure, between Gate B31 and B32. The new lounge is Huge! I would estimate it's at least 4 times bigger than the old lounge, which is still operational at opposite side of the Terminal. So depending on which Gate you are departing, you have 2 different Plaza Premium Lounge to use. If time permits and you don't mind walking an extra 10 minutes, I would definitely recommend you visit this NEW lounge! The food is OK, not as good as Pre-Covid times, but much much better than Air Canada's Maple Leaf Lounge. For breakfast, there are Scrambled eggs, Baked Beans, Sausages, Fried potatoes, coleslaw, assorted bread, bagels, muffins, yogurts, bananas, apples, oranges, all kinds of teas, coffee, expresso, alcoholic drinks, various juices. All you can eat and drink! If you have a World Elite Premium Mastercard issued by most major banks, you have to download the Dragon Pass App and admission is free and you can bring a guest also free of charge. Otherwise, you have to pay $37 per person, so you better be hungry! The best part about the lounge is it's so spacious and comfortable. The washrooms are also very clean and spacious like some expensive 5 star hotels! I'm very impressed! The only reason why I wouldn't give it a 5 Star rating is the food. It's located with the American American Club. Pay attention signs as it is easy to miss - right outside of the Duty Free. Take the elevator to the lounge. Food selections here were not bad and plentiful. For breakfast there were scrambled egg, beans, sausages, potatoes, oatmeal, toast and bagels and because my flight was delayed 3 times we had lunch here as well which consisted of Italian chicken, meatballs with sweet and sour sauce, rice, pierogis, broccoli, and minestrone soup. The scrambled eggs, sausages; and potatoes were average. The pierogis were pretty good, broccoli needed more seasoning, and meatballs were too sweet. We didn't partake in the specialty coffee or alcoholic drinks in the front because it didn't seem to be manned most of the time. Also, the space is super small and got very crowded during lunch times where everyone was apologizing for trying to get out of their seats. The bathrooms were large but not stocked consistently as the one I went to was missing toilet paper. The terminal 3 plaza premium lounge was a lot better and more spacious. read more

First off, Yelp needs to do a better job distinguishing these lounges. There are three Plaza Premium lounges here in T3 alone, one each for A) domestic, B) international, and C) transborder. There are 3 entries in Yelpdom alright, but they are not labeled clearly enough, and it's too early in the day for me to correct. (I think this is the first Yelp review I'm writing before 8 bells in the morning!) So the first part of my review is for A) domestic, which i used 3 days ago. This is an airy and pleasant open space overlooking some gates, with a small bar and a food station. I'd guess it can hold over 200. They had a teriyaki chicken thing going on as well as a vegetarian hot dish, some pasta, and the requisite "salad bar" (field greens and coleslaw were the main attractions). I only saw one large screen TV that wasn't very large. They appear extremely short-staffed: I was seated right in front of the bar and witnessed a patron having to wait 3-4 minutes for someone to service her, and then a little later, the check-in person having to run over to our drinks. They had a menu at the bar which had prices on it, suggesting there's a charge for drinks, which was not the case ... so that was confusing. The pours were not generous: asked for a glass of cab and she poured me about 2oz., and not in a wine glass. I didn't stay long. Upon departure today, I used C) the transborder lounge - a much smaller affair at a capacity of 52 people, and it was packed within a half hour of my being here (0730). They have 3 TVs here. Hot items for bfast were a hot dog thing, pancakes, and some congealed naked beans (I did see scrambled eggs later). The coffee machine was broken, and there were only two bathrooms (not unisex). So if you need to go and there are inconsiderate guests hogging and hugging those toilet seats for an inordinate amount of time, you may want to exit and use the bathrooms for the masses downstairs. Word to the wise: Plaza Premium lounges are not accessible to Sky Club or Priority Plus members. I mean they are accessible, but you'd have to pay. But the Platinum Amex does get you in. read more

The plaza premium lounge was nicely tucked away in terminal 3. Since I was leaving at b41, location of the lounge was not too bad. Across from plaza premium lounge was the klm lounge, but they're hours were not as flexible as the plaza. On arrival you are prompted for payment, if you travel with 2 people you get 30% off. Note that alcohol is not served until 11am per local laws. The food was salads, like qinioa . There was also baked beans, scrambled eggs from carton, breakfast sausages. Also oatmeal (cooked) and lentil soup. Three flavour juice, coffee, tea, hot chocolate. And three types of hot beverages with caffeine and one type of cold beverage with caffeine. There were also selections of croissant, muffin, cookies...all from bucket. There was also wifi within the lounge. The area is very calming with washrooms and showers. Overall great value. Will regularly use lounge services on future visit. Drinks aren't served until 11am. read more

Incompetent staff. Tried entering with my Amex platinum and their machine was not "recognizing the card or finding primary cardholders". Staff was rude and unhelpful, and basically turned us away with a valid ticket into the lounge. Once we entered the food was mediocre at best. Charged us for drinks where it should have been included in the entrance which we had to pay full price for. Inside was cramped and full, but it was clean and staff kept tables free of plates which was the only plus. I'd never come back here and I would seriously considering firing half the staff and the hiring manager for their blatant incompetence. read more

The area is very, very small so if you're traveling with 3 or more, this might not be the lounge for you. The food was just ok. some pretty basic set-up, I had a soup that was pretty tasteless. The sweets were mediocre as well. Drinks are the standard soft drinks, coffee, and water. It looks like you had to pay for any type of alcohol. All I wanted was a comfy chair, but it looked like they only had individual work stations and then a packed table/chair set up. Maybe I'm spoiled because I've been to the Maple leaf lounge here and that is clearly superior in every single way (even down to the mints when you walk out). I just don't know that I would go back to this lounge under regular circumstances. read more

I remember the lounge being in a temporary location, so if you were expecting something like the Maple Leaf Lounge, you will surely be disappointed. I found the lounge to be much smaller than anticipated. If you visit during peak hours (like I did), you'll find it quite cramped. It was hard to find a comfortable seat that was vacant, nor could you find one with seating. They could really use some shades to cut the sun in the early evening as it bakes the little space. The nearby gate announcements make it quite loud in the space. Food/bev is ok. After Air Canada issues led to 2 cancelled and one majorly delayed flight before we were able to get home, we got to visit this lounge a few more times than usual. I continue to appreciate the clear labeling on food allergens, and that the majority of the dishes here minus the meat, which consisted of teriyaki beef/jerk chicken are gluten free. Pastries look decent as well, though all contain gluten. There's an automatic coffee machine that makes the lattes/cappuccinos, but there is also a nice espresso machine and barista to make you a latte with freshly ground coffee, though she did try to insist we use the automated machine at first, which was the first time I've encountered this at a Plaza lounge. Breakfast of tator tots and eggs. Not too crowded off-peak, but very busy during breakfast/lunch times. read more

The airlines and airport makes you check in at least two hours before your US flight. Got here around 3hrs early. Never know what the lines will be like. Checked with American Airlines this time and it was ok. US Customs - a breeze. Hmmmm...now what to do with 2.5 hours! Can hang around fighting for a plug while doing some work and spending $50 on drinks and some lunch or....check into a lounge. Normally, when flying international biz or biz class domestic with some flights, their lounges are included. Unfortunately, AA does not consider their USA flight international and since I only held a first class ticket without status - no pampering for me. Meh...who cares. there are other options then their over-rated lounge. The Plaza has a good model. Give travellers a place to stay with nominal or no charge (AMEX gold/platinum/black...Priority Plus...others). It costs $30 for a couple of hours of relaxation. The place has comfortable chairs, a hot table/salad bar and a few items on the made to order side. Bar selection is beers and wines with all the drinks. Only drawback is the WiFi is not private - need to use the same one as all the rest of Terminal 3. You can work or relax or both. No screaming kids, rude passengers, fighting for charging ports, and expensive food&drinks -usually $50 for a full meal with a few drinks. Think about it, $30 or all the above mentioned negatives.
