I cannot recommend using this company for AC repair or service. My elderly mother called on…read moreWednesday because one of her air conditioning units was not working properly. A service technician came out and informed my mother that the unit had no refrigerant in the system. He further instructed her it would be another $500 to replace the lost refrigerant. My mother became skeptical when he wrote all of this out on her notepad after he requested some paper. An estimate for repairs and diagnostic statement was not on the company's letterhead. After my mother contacted me; I called the number and requested a call back. No one from the company ever returned my call. I will not mention the specific tech's name for privacy concerns. I redacted his name from the business card he left. The repair tech requested $562.47 with no parts or service work performed, which was promptly paid by my mother. Furthermore, the things he said were wrong with the system were fine according to the other company we hired. The air conditioning problem was a faulty evaporator coil. It had nothing to do with power capacitors as he suggested on the notepad. The work was performed today by another company and completed in a little over 3 hours. I took photos of the faulty evaporator coil, business card, service technician's diagnosis and ridiculous invoice he wrote on our memo pad.

Eric the owner showed up at 9:00 PM on a Thursday night and was able to fix my A/C and get it functioning again and diagnosed the issue as plugged condenser drsin lines and low freon. Eric and his wife Paige worked with my home warranty to get a replacement condenser and had it fixed in a little over a week. Since then Eric has replaced all my old duct work in my attic, replaced a furnace and added a larger return to make my house efficient and comfortable both summer and winter. I recommend Stacks to everyone that I can if they have issues or need some work done on their HVAC systems in their homes. Eric and Paige are a small family owned business and the craftsmanship and prices have beaten any and all estimates that I have received from other companies.
