Parker evaluated the cause (slow leaking evaporator coil) but he wanted to be sure the rest of the system maintained integrity by performing a pressure leak test which he did a few days later. He charged the system back up, enough to get me to the pressure test. Confirming the problem, he passed me over to Hope who provided a solution and explained in detail what needed to be done, what it would cost, and how long it would take. This was on a Friday afternoon. She was able to coordinate the required new equipment, materials and schedule their construction team for the following Monday morning. Everything was in place that morning and needless to say, they knew what to do and how to do it. They jumped on it, and never stopped. No breaks, no lunch and were finished by 2:00 PM. This was a major project, having to demo and rebuild the supply plenum, remove and replace the coil section of the furnace, install a new drain pan and drains, etc. As fate would have it, my thermostat had failed and that caused a delay getting the system to start. Richard, another airWoodlands tech came out and discovered the problem quickly and provided me with a new thermostat. From Angela, to Parker, to Hope, to Cossa, and to Richard, I could not have asked for a better team from any one, anywhere. Customer service in general has failed in America, but this group is an exception. I will never have to search for an a/c contractor. Air Woodlands is the best. (A special call out to Parker. We were enrolled in American Comfort Experts' annual maintenance subscription. When we noticed a…read morepersistent "dirty sock" smell in our home, we were told additional duct services were needed. This cost us an additional $870. However, during the duct cleaning service visit, the technician informed us that coil cleaning was not part of this additional service because it was supposed to be covered under our existing yearly maintenance plan. It became evident that the coil cleaning was never performed during any of the previous maintenance services. The duct cleaning technician called the technician who had previously performed our annual maintenance to visit our home and ask him about this. In front of my husband, the technician who performed our yearly maintenance acknowledged that the coils had never been cleaned during prior maintenance services because they were difficult for him to get to. You would think this would be mentioned to us instead of pretending to perform coil cleaning for several years. Because the coils weren't being cleaned, there was a dirty sock smell, which we thought would be resolved if the ducts were cleaned. Finding out that this smell would have been resolved if the coils were properly cleaned​ is frustrating because we would have never paid the $870 for the ducts to be cleaned if this were the case. We attempted to resolve this matter directly with the owner of American Comfort Experts, but they refused to give us any money back, despite not receiving services that we paid for (coil cleaning). Absolutely unfair and unprofessional. ****ADDENDUM: The company keeps replying to my reviews stating that they did clean the coils during the duct cleaning. This is a true statement. The yearly maintenance plan that I have paid for several years includes coil cleaning. I found out years later that the coils had NEVER been cleaned during the yearly maintenance... When we complained to the company that the coils had never been cleaned before, that is when they cleaned the coils. So we have been paying for a service for years that we were not receiving. They did not give us any money back and they continue to comment on reviews without addressing the actual complaint.

Bad business practice. I previously used this company when they were called Elite Comfort and gave…read morethem a great review. However, that's not the case with this new company, Air Tech. While the technician was professional, the estimate they gave was outrageous. The technician said I needed a new evaporator coil. If you look online, you'd be hard-pressed to find one for more than $1,000. He mentioned it would take two technicians and six hours to complete the job. Even if we assume the technicians charge $100 per hour (which is a stretch), that brings the labor cost to $1,200, and the total so far to $2,200. Let's add a 50% markup for the company, which brings the total to $3,300. That's still high, but they quoted me $4,980! Obviously, I shopped around and found a much more reasonable estimate--nearly 50% less from a reputable company. The bad business practice here is charging nearly $100 for the diagnostic, knowing the estimate was outrageous. You could literally build a business around giving inflated estimates with the sole intention of collecting diagnostic fees.

A human sized hole in my attic, the crew cut down to 1 guy, "finished" at midnight, but the system is still unbalanced and the job is still not finished. I DO NOT BLAME THE INSTALLERS. It was a really young crew which i loved to see because we desperately need people in trades. They all were well versed in everything they were doing, knowledgeable, and had a hell of a lot of hustle. Accidents happen, and I get it. I blame the company, its safety protocols, and the complete lack of response to my continued requests of a quality check (which i'm now getting after a week and the system is unbalanced b/c no dampers were installed)and a phone call from someone in mgmt to discuss my concerns...But also, I think Alpine Investments (private equity) is now the owner of Apex Solutions, which i believe jointly owns Air Tech with an individual in houston. So the inability to email anyone (info@elitecomfortservices.com as stated as their email to reach them at DOES NOT EXIST), reach a manager, speak to someone other than a service tech/scheduler...all by design. After this all happened, i recieved an invoice the following morning. YOUR OWNERS FROM OUTSIDE DON'T CARE ABOUT YOUR CUSTOMERS.
