I usually don't write reviews; but this company really upset me! We had used EZ Comfort before without any issues, so I figured I would use them again. My husband called on Thursday, May 8th, and scheduled an appointment with Aisha. He informed her that the appointment was for our business--the same place they had done work before--and that they would need a 15-24 ft ladder to access the AC unit. The appointment was scheduled for Friday, May 9th. On Friday, I received a text stating that the technician was heading to my house. I called to confirm that they were going to the business and not my house, and Aisha answered. I verified the address and confirmed that she was aware a ladder was needed. However, she then stated that she was not made aware of this and that a $150 charge would be added for the safety of her technician, which I firmly believe is untrue! My husband was with me at the time, got on the phone, and reiterated that he had informed her. Aisha insisted that it was a $150 charge for the safety of her technician. I pointed out that we had work done at the same location in February of this year and were never advised of or charged an extra $150 for having a ladder brought to the location. She stated they should have charged me. To me, this seems ridiculous; you need tools to perform your job, so why charge extra? It felt like she muted me because there was silence for a good minute. Then she repeated her statement about the safety of her technician. I asked to speak to Melissa, as I had dealt with her during the previous job, but Aisha said, "No, I'm the GM, and the fee stays." I canceled my service due to this business taking advantage of local businesses and imposing hidden fees. EZ Comfort rescued me from Home Warranty shenanigans, after I hadn't had AC for 10 days while in the middle of a heat wave in Humble that included daily heat advisories and resulted in a house whose ambient temperature was 90F from June 14th - June 24th 2023. Their staff were able to get me on their schedule with minimal delays (when other companies were quoting 2-3 weeks into the future), with one phone call to the stellar office team. The Business Owner & HVAC technician, Juan Carlos, quickly diagnosed the issue and explained what options I had. His professional, polite, technical demeanor & explanation resulted in my family replacing the furnace, drip pan (which was inappropriately plumbed causing rusty water to constantly drip from our backup line rather than divert to the primary drain line) and installed a whole home surge protector. These updates should mitigate/eliminate future issues. It is likely that local power surges placed strain on my capacitor (which had a burnt out terminal & char marks on the mounting frame), resolved a Gerry-rigged control board, and replaced the non- functioning blower. All these observations where ignored by my home warranty inspector who instead quickly insisted that I had a leak in my system that the HW wouldn't cover & tried to sale me a "temporary fix" via cash that wouldn't have addressed any of the true issues. Thank goodness I was smart enough to reach out to EZ Comfort who did a thorough system inspection to provide a technical disposition with appropriate records of their finding's & recommendations for correction. The EZ Comfort staff who came out to help (installation & removal of non-operating equipment) were professional and friendly, with much appreciation, thanks, and popsicles given to Juan Carlos & his team (Yoni, Jose, & the electrician). The front of the office staff were equally as professional effective and just pleasurable to talk and work with to restore services. I am looking forward to using EZ Comfort for all my future HVAC & home services needs in the future as together we maintain & service my property through their helpful & reasonably priced maintenance plan & dedicated team of technicians & installers. Had a 12 year old Goodman Amana system fail on a rental property. They gave me a quote to replace entire system and furnace with TRANE equipment, they also offered Goodman for a lower price point if you want a more economical solution. I've had bad experiences with Goodman equipment due to evaporator coil failures so I will never buy Goodman again, the TRANE is a little more expensive up front but I think over the life of the system the TRANE will be cheaper with better reliability. They did an amazing job on this install. Very clean installation. Also love that they have a great billing system that lets you use Apple Pay and sends nice PDF receipts. Good work, courteous, on time and easy to do business with. Phillip was very professional and came back after the install to do a quality control check on the system and make sure everything was working properly. Well, sometimes you just have to give up the old and go with the new as is that's what we had to do. After a month of 100° plus and my AC quit in three times each time wasn't a major problem but I decided I didn't wanna wake up on a weekend in a hot house, so I did my own research on finding what unit brand I wanted and Goodman came up on top more than once, and I made locally here near Houston everyone at EZ Comfort on the phone or in person is always a pleasure Felipe takes a lot of pride answer his work phone, no matter when I call he answers the phone or send a text message back and he's very knowledgeable. also everyone at this company that I've dealt with has been extremely helpful and knowledgeable and nice and they like their job. Philip Mora and his crew removed and replaced all of our HVAC ductwork. We had experienced poor air flow throughout the bedrooms and bathroom in our home for years and final decided to do something about it. Philip came out and gave us a great estimate to not only replaced all of our ductwork, but add new ducting in order to balance the airflow properly. In addition, they also upgraded our coil casing and added an extra return and media filter. All of these upgrades really balanced the airflow throughout the house evenly. Philip made the entire job seamless and his crew did an incredible installation job and also left everything very clean. We would highly recommend EZ Comfort Air Conditioning & Heating. I put in a Yelp project request to get someone out to my house for an AC repair. EZ Comfort responded. They sent their info along with available time slots. I included my contact information which included my address, phone number and availability per their message as requested. Yelp also sends my phone number with the project. 24 hours later I got a response asking me to provide the same information that was provided. I think they realized they already had what was needed and began to call. I have been in meetings all morning and got the first call and voicemail at 1pm. I was wrapping up a meeting and was about to call them when I got another call 52 minutes later. The lady introduced herself as Aisha. I told her I got their call, message and voicemail but was wrapping up with a client and would call them back shortly. She then got an attitude and stated "Well do you need us to come out or not?" As soon as she said that to me that was a no go. I said no. The overly aggressive contacts and then the attitude when I told her I would call her back when I wrapped up with a client within the next few minutes will not earn any company my business. We had EZ Comfort come out to give us a bid on a wall unit. It was below the other two quotes we rec'd. They installed it. They were clean, respectful and efficient. The unit is still leaking but they sent someone out yesterday in less than an hour. It started leaking again but the are sending the tech out again today. We have NO doubt they will fix it. We asked the about a remote control thermostat for the upstairs HVAC (which is brand new and another company suggested but they never followed up). It works beautifully! We have had John Moore (who originally installed the new HVAC) and four other companies come out for suggestions. It would never cool below 80 when it was really hot outside. They are professional, cleans and have very quick service. I am SURE they will fix our mini unit. We highly recommend them! read more

I hired them to come check out my rental property because I had renters who said 1 part of the house was not getting cold air. I let them know ahead of time and again when dispatch called me that I do not live at the home and that the renters may or may not be there, but that I could grant them access if they were not through the smart lock. When the tech got there he was clearly in a bad mood and claimed to not be comfortable going in without somebody there (my renters were there just in the backyard apparently). I explained that I had mentioned this repeatedly on the call and that they should have told me so I could get another company if that was an issue. He went in, said the unit appeared to work and said he'd check out the air flow issue and get back to me. Never heard from him again, and the company won't return any calls explaining what, if anything, he found, leaving me to pay emergency hours for another company to now have to come identify the problem. Needed to get the heater fixed. Carlos came out and was honest about what needed to be done. Ultimately, we decided to get a new heater instead of repairing a twenty year old unit. We scheduled the service for the next day and he knows I had a prior commitment that evening. His guys arrived a few minutes late , because of another appointment, but worked hard to make sure that I was not inconvenienced. If I could give no stars I would...contacted this company late afternoon on a Saturday in July in middle of Houston heat wave. Our upstairs A/C was out and we needed repair ASAP since bedrooms are upstairs. Company said a tech would arrive between 4:30-6:30. Time frame came and went with no response from anyone. I tried contacting tech through the "Housecall" app that was linked to the email confirmation I received but no response. Why not just say you were booked up and not schedule the service call??? This company takes advantage of it's customers. We are a new business and our heaters weren't working during the latest cold spell. We have 3 units and when we set up the appointment, we were told it would be $150 diagnostic fee per unit. I pushed back and said "if it's the same problem (which I figured it was) causing all 3 units not to work, I did not expect to pay for each unit ($450). They agreed to this over the phone before they deployed their service tech. Sure enough, it was the main gas valve on the roof that someone had turned off (probably during our construction inspection). So they sent us a $450 invoice for their technician getting up on the roof and turning a single valve by hand, which took no more than 10 minutes. I would NOT recommend doing business with this company unless you really enjoyed being taken advantage of and overcharged. read more

They were excellent to deal with. I called them on the Sunday after July 4th. Renters were arriving in their moving van from Kansas at 4pm that evening. The A/C kept blowing the breaker. They were at my home by 2pm (the time they said they would arrive). I texted me when they were on their way from previous job. They also called me. They arrived and immediately diagnosed the problem and had the price and parts needed to fix it. Their service charge to come out on a Holiday Sunday was very reasonable. They got my unit fixed and the house was cool when the tenants arrived. I was so impressed with this company. I signed up for my annual service with them on the spot !!! Carlos of EZ Comfort AC & Heating showed up on time to give an estimate on an AC unit in a rental property I just bought. I had sent him the home inspection report in advance, which he clearly had read because he mentioned items in the report without having to refer to it. He checked everything out including going up into the attic to inspect the duct work. The attic stairs are broken so he had to drag his ladder up there. Even the home inspector wouldn't do this. Carlos gave me a price which was fair and I asked if he could do the work right then. It required one of his workers to get a part at the store, but they took care of it. I really appreciated that Carlos fixed only what was needed. As a woman in this business I have to be really careful. Vendors tend to quote the "ladies" price -- more than they would charge a man b/c they figure I don't know any better. And / or insisting that repairs are needed that aren't. After a failed attempt on my part to wire a new thermostat my house was left with no AC. I reached out to several companies and EZ was the first to call. They came within a few hours (on a Saturday) at the scheduled time, and wore masks. Carlos (the owner) quickly fixed the problem and helped me change out my air filters and a few other things but only charged the regular service fee. Helpful, prompt, knowledgeable, and honest.
