    Banker's Hill

I want to make a formal complaint about a interaction I just had at my bank branch…read more I had just been notified that my identity was stolen and I had tried calling my bank to report it and see what charges were made to my account and the next steps I should take on my accounts. My call kept dropping when they transferred me to the right department on the phone so I just went into my normal bank branch. I first approached a gentleman at the counter to let him know what had happened and what he thinks I should do. He asked for my basic information and told me to have a seat while someone would help me. A woman (Claudia ) then approached me and asked how she could help. I was a tad panicked already and frustrated that the initial phone calls had kept dropping and explained this to her. She looked at me and said that doesn't sound right and I said agreed. She then asked for my ID to look at my account which I gave her. She then asked for charged amounts and dates. I explained I didn't have exact times / dates but I had the dollar amounts. She said she couldn't find any of those amounts. I asked her have you checked all my linked accounts with chase. She replied NO you have to do that I can't do that it's your bank. I said you can't enter the amounts and it doesn't search my transactions history to see if any of these amounts have been charged and I handed her my phone with a list of all The charges we were looking for as I had just found out and hadn't had time to look yet as this is why I am here. She just rudely said no she can't. I said I don't understand and I'll just leave because she was being rude and not helping me. I walked out and to the counter to ask if a manager could help me. A woman yelled from the back counter and said call the customer service line online. I asked there's no manager here I can talk to ? She then said fine follow me rudely walked me to the back office. Her tone and expressions were rude and belittling. I asked if she's the manager why is she being so rude. She said I walked in here already with an attitude. I said I haven't even met you before and the gentleman first talked to was kind and helpful. She said I heard you talking to the other woman. Ok then you heard I had asked her for information and she said she was unable to give it to me and then I walked over to you to ask for a manager and you said there wasn't one and now all Of a sudden you're the manager. She asked ok what can I help you with ? I explained again here is a list of possible charges to my account and I put my phone on table with frustration and anger as I just explained this to her coworker and she just lied about not being a manager. She immediately called for security to take me out. I said I would gladly leave I just want both of them biz cards and names and positions before I left. She said they don't have cards and wouldn't even tell me their names and said they don't have cards. The security guard walked over and said I needed to leave. I said not until I get information on who they are and who to contact for a complaint. She then yelled I will help you after this customer. I waited and then said why couldn't you give me this information the 1st time I asked. Then gave me a number and name. I've been calling and it's an automated message and no idea if the number even works at this point. I've been banking here for 10 years or more and have never been treated like this before. She was unprofessional and instead of descalting the situation she escalated it for no reason.

My business partner and I went to this location at 12:30 pm Thursday afternoon (yesterday) and we…read morewere connected with a tan gentleman in a nice suit to help us open a business account. Pablo I believe it was. We couldn't start the process as I only brought 1 form of ID (apparently having 2 accounts with Chase doesn't speak to my identity). My wallet had been stolen over the weekend so I had to run home and grab another form of ID. We also needed our EIN number. I will fully admit we weren't prepared for this meeting. So we made plans to come back at 1:30 pm to complete the process. Here's the thing though, we are both working professionals, I had to move meetings and work to find that EIN number and get back to Chase, my business partner had her own things to move around to try and make the meeting. I was 30 minutes late to the meeting and I tried apologizing to the tan gentleman over the phone about that. But why does he hang up on me while I'm mid apology? Why is he so short and crass on the phone? When I arrive he says, "should we just reschedule this? You're not being respectful of my time." I'm sorry my business partner was a little behind but we are doing our best while honoring other commitments. I've worked with customers for a lot of my professional life, lie and say you have another meeting. To straight up tell a customer they aren't respecting your time is crazy. I spent an hour driving to and from this location just to be talked down to. Again we were not initially prepared, I fully admit that. But to not even offer to start the application while we wait for my business partner to show up, instead to dismiss us and talk down to me... that would never happen at my home branch in Mission Valley by the Hooters. #loveyall I spoke to a friend who banks at this location and he wasn't surprised by this interaction. We're on a time crunch so we aren't opening the account with Chase anymore, but such is life. Mission Valley Chase you have my heart and my money, blessings to my home branch.

There were plenty of customers in front of me but I was the only targeted. When I replied I was making a transaction he said I was in the right place. Again the employee asked that of nobody else in line...keep in mind it's a Saturday morning and I had wet hair and sweats on after a long week at work. My guess is this employee thought I was homeless! Then Maritza, the teller, proceeded to be one of the rudest people I have ever experienced in customer service. My home branch never charges me fees because of my good standing with Wells Fargo and Maritza would not honor that and even questioned if I was telling the truth!!! You never question a customer's integrity. Even after looking at my account and seeing I have not been charged Maritza and another coworker again questioned whether I was telling the truth! I will never return to this branch and hope you heed my warning. If you want to be treated rudely, have your honor questioned, and assumed to be homeless then this is the branch for you!

DO NOT do business here. I've been a WF customer for over 15 years with several mortgages over the…read moreduration, so when I received an offer for a $2500 bonus to sign up for a Premier Checking which I would receive after 90 days, I carefully read he instructions and booked an appointment with the Hillcrest Branch. Unfortunately, I was given Fernando Guerrero, an amoral, lazy and uneducated employee who 1. didn't understand the terms of the offer and 2. didn't take the time to simply VERIFY how to set it up correctly. During the course of the 90 days, I reached out to Fernando several times to ensure I had met the requirements for the bonus, and EACH TIME he assured me I had (again, very negligently not making a simple phone call to the promotions dept to ENSURE I had...but just SAYING I had). After 90 days; no bonus (surprise!), so I began to reach out by phone and email, and of course Fernando began dodging my calls and not replying to emails. When I finally took the initiative to explore WHY I didn't receive the bonus, it was because he had explained it incorrectly AND failed to set it up so I would get the bonus. After hiding my number, I finally got through to him, and he was very apologetic, saying he would ask for an investigation and say it was "bank error", and that he would "advocate for me" (his catch phrase, which means absolutely nothing). Come to find out, after the actual investigation took place, both he and his manager, an equally unethical Lisa Kern, denied ALL responsibility and claimed it was MY fault. Well, guess what; I recorded my calls (BOOM, SUCKAH! You're done!) and turned them into the Executive Office, who promptly did a subsequent investigation and finally gave me the bonus I was due. The point is there are some extremely hard-working and competent individuals who work for WF which is why I have been with them for so long. But at least at the Hillcrest branch, there is a culture of lying, unethical behavior and just plain laziness which could have literally prevented this entire experience with ONE phone call that never happened. This incident has now been taken to the highest levels at WF and my guess is Fernando Guerrero will take the fall for the entire experience (and his incompetence was the reason it happened), but I think from my call with the manager, Lisa Kern, that she probably told him to lie and say it was MY fault during the investigation so as to hide her lack of training/handling the situation. So, if they are both fired, let this be a testament to their lack of ethics, morals and customer skills for anyone who is considering hiring them in the future.
