Mexican statue of man riding horse.

This is a fun store to visit to pick up some souvenirs and postcards. There are some metal figures from Mexico in front of the store that are really interesting! The dinosaur is the reason I was drawn over to the store. The shop is located across the street from the Chuckwagon Motel and the walk is across a quaint little bridge once you've crossed the street. The shop has little knickknacks, statues, and other little trinkets for purchase. We bought a bunch of postcards to send back home from Utah. This was a fun place to spend some time and to grab a few small things while we were in Torrey!

Small shop but boy does it have a lot of stuff inside! I shopped til I dropped lol the lady who assisted us was sooo sweet. if you're looking into getting some souvenirs or doing some shopping for yourself this is definitely the place since there isn't much in this little town.

I stay here every winter for hiking in Capitol Reef NP and the surrounding area. The cabins are clean, cozy and very affordable. The owner is super friendly and knowledgeable of the area. I suggest getting a cabin with kitchen in the off season as there is not much open in the way of restaurants. The closest grocery is about a 30 min drive each way, so pack accordingly.

Nice little shop! Nice prices and really nice jewelry and clothing! They also have many little souvenirs! Really nice owner! Good place to stop by if you're in the area!

The best place to stay in Torrey! Cabins are only $50 a night with two queen beds. There was heat! (Which was needed in our 20 degree snowy weather). And even a TV, electricity, and wifi. The best deal with the best hosts. We liked our first night so much we decided to stay a second.

    Cute little cabins

We stayed in one of the cabins operated by the Torrey Trading Post. The people were very nice, but the bathrooms were so dirty!

From the moment we pulled in, we were warmly welcomed by Leslie, the kindest and most thoughtful hostess we've ever met. She truly goes above and beyond to make guests feel seen, supported, and at home. Her presence alone makes this park exceptional. The park itself is beautifully maintained--clean, quiet, and perfectly laid out for both comfort and community. Whether you're staying for a night or a week, you'll find peace and care in every corner of the space. The views alone are worth the stop. Traveling as a family, it meant the world to be in a place that felt safe, personal, and genuinely welcoming. Leslie was friendly and always there with a smile, helpful tips, and really made my kids feel like they were just as important as everyone else in the park. If you're reading this and considering a stay, don't hesitate. Sand Creek RV Park is a gem, and Leslie is the heart that makes it shine. We're incredibly grateful for the experience and already looking forward to returning. Thank you, Leslie, for everything!

If you're super fit and want to do hikes, good for you as there's plenty of strenuous hikes! If you aren't as active or use a mobility assistive device, you can travel on the very, very scenic drive and also learn about the ghost town of Fruita (although the NPS employees live there). If you time your visit right, you can even pick fruits from the orchards. I combined the Rim Overlook trail with the trail to Hickman Bridge to get amazing views, as well as hiked the Cassidy Arch trail. The trails weren't too crowded, so it was a great place to listen to nature and focus on hiking. You're rewarded with amazing views. Definitely hit up Gifford Homestead for fruit pies. They often sell out in the afternoon.

I also was recommended to check out the Gifford Homestead where you can buy some EXCELLENT homemade pies and other goodies. I'm addicted to sugar so this was actually the highlight for me - the cinnamon roll, mixed berry and cherry pies that I bought were honestly some of the best pies I've had in my life. I had to eat them over the course of four days though since I was by myself and they are decently sizable (about the size of a large saucer/small dinner plate). As for the hikes - the arches were a bit strenuous but very doable in the span of a morning. Do beware that the trail is kind of hard to follow on the Cassidy arch trail - I got QUITE confused at one of the confluence areas of trails and ended up wasting a good 30 mins trying to figure out where I was/where the trail actually is. I saw a couple hikers coming down eventually and that's how I figured out where I was supposed to go. The Cassidy arch viewpoint is REALLY cool though, and of course the view of the vista at the arch itself is lovely. The Hickman bridge is also very impressive. I came on a random weekday in April and there were a handful of other hikers but really the trails were quite empty, and the trailhead lots had TONS of parking available, no issue. No traffic going in or out of the park either. The weather was decent; cloudy but wasn't rainy (it had been raining/sleeting just west of the park where my airbnb was though, so come prepared!). By the end of the grand wash hike in the early afternoon I was already getting pretty hot, and felt ready to move along on my NP road trip. Overall - if you're taking a tour of Utah I think it would be a travesty to miss this park, they're all incredible and unique in different ways!

The whole place is so gosh dang cute. Bed was comfy and clean. Fire pit outside is an awesome addition even though we couldn't use it due to fire restrictions. Free drip coffee in the morning was so good that I didn't even want a latte - though they do have a full service espresso bar available on site! You'll also find cute postcards, tumbled rocks, maps of the area, local geological facts and stuff. You can hang out in the reception/coffee area, which had seating and outlets. They have laundry downstairs (we didn't check it out though). And the whole property has free wifi! There are SO many amenities here for dogs as well!! I wish we had ours, but they hate going on the road, so we didn't get to take advantage of the dog park, wash station, or in-room pet blankets. On top of their cabins/casita, they also have tent sites and RV and van sites. One of the absolute best stops we've ever made on the road! Don't forget to hang out with Debbie (meow).

I drove over, plugged in, scanned the QR code on the side of the charger, and it turned on right away. The Tesla app handled everything without any issues. The charging speed is what you'd expect from a home charger, but for an overnight stay it's totally fine. They're completely okay with people leaving their cars there overnight. Just lock it and let it charge. It's a little pricey, but when you look at the fact that there are basically no other charging options for 85 to 100 miles, it's actually a solid option.
