Emily was so kind-not only did she help me in choosing items to try on, but she also helped give me great styling tips at my request, and take risks with what I tried on. She was honest and friendly in her observations about how each piece looked. I have never felt so confident trying on new clothes and I left feeling beautiful and fierce. Since I was staying not-that-far-away, I popped in right after they opened! I was blown away by the sheer size of this place. It looks small on the outside, but it's quite spacious and they literally carry everything. From their designer and vintage sections to a large shoe area, tons of jewelry, handbags, and of course plus size clothing, there was a LOT to occupy my time. When I arrived, the kind woman at the counter gave me the lay of the land, and then I was set free to explore the store. The other two staff members were extremely helpful, too, as I loaded my arms with all sorts of things to try on. Anyway, I got in those dressing rooms and after 30 minutes these ladies identified Nordstrom had sized me earlier this year 3 FULL SIZES TOO SMALL. They also have jewelry, shoes, socks, and limited make up which is nail polish and gloss. A lot of great clothes here for the plus sized woman for work, a night out, exercise and casual wear. One of the sales people that asked to help me turned out to work at the same place I do during the day. We had a fun chat about that. All three of the sales people that helped me were friendly and not intrusive. I like my space when I'm shopping and if I want help I'll ask for it. I appreciate the fact that they knew this intuitively. Always check out the far back of the store of a LB as that is where the clearance racks are. Well over that 20-year time period I can probably count on one hand how many times I walked out of there with something worthwhile. For one thing the store is always in a fair amount of disarray. The racks are overcrowded. Too many items where they just have one or two things and it's really hard to find what you want in your size. A lot of stuff on the floor and if you do find something you love you have to wonder if it was stepped on or rolled over by a cart at some point. The prices probably are more reasonable if you do find something but you really got to dig. The thing that really burns my hide is the line. It's been long often in the past but it could be worthwhile if you found something. This most recent time I went the line was ridiculous. I would guess there was 35 or 40 people in line and three cashiers. The people were lined up all the way to the dressing room. I expect this if I go in Ross or the Goodwill. Not Nordstrom rack. Never again. But I want to give credit where credit is due, the cashiers despite the crushing workload where personable and did not display any stress despite the obvious frustration of everyone staring at them doing their job.
