I'm a long time Torrid shopper. I am a tall size 18/20. The last three pairs of jeans I bought have shrunk up past my ankles! Three disappointments at $50 to $65 a pop, I'm going to start shopping online. The quality of clothes and selection in the store has become equally as disappointing while the prices seem to have gone up. There are so few options for plus size apparel in this area...so bummed! read more

I called ahead to go in store to make an exchange because is was Easter day When I called the employee answered "Torrid pismo beach Deborah speaking" I replied.. "Hi i was just checking if you guys were open today?" she responded with "mmhmm" and straight up hung up on me. I went anyway because i was in the area and live out of town. When I went into the store neither employee greeted me and the store had racks everywhere you could barely get around , I've never seen it such a mess in all the years I have shopped here. I stood at the register for over 5 minutes and was being ignored I finally yelled out "can I please be helped?" The employee walked over to me totally annoyed and said "what do you need help with?" I told her i needed to exchange for a smaller size and she said "well did you want to find the items?" I said " you don't have them which is why I would like to order them" she was so rude and unhelpful. I came in to exchange item from a previous in store purchase my sales person was chaz they were extremely helpful and their customer service was amazing. I asked the employee if we could order online because i used $80 of rewards and my torrid cash. When ordering she said i had to pay more because it's online , I've shopped at many other locations and know that it can be overridden. She refused to do it so I said then I will just return everything then Im not gonna pay more for what I already purchased. I lost out on money because of the rewards i used but i don't even care I will never spend another dime at this location which is unfortunate because it's the only location in this area so I probably will never shop this brand again. Once i did the return and went to my car i checked to receipt and guess who the employee was? Deborah. She is the blondish one with glasses and short hair very rude. I've been in here before where she was trash talking other employees and the district manager she obviously hates her job and her whole attitude shows it. Makes it so unpleasant for customers , I've never met someone in customer service who is so rude. read more

This torrid location sadly does not compare to any of the locations I have visited in Ventura CA, Camarillo CA, & Boise ID. I realize they are an outlet but they had so few items in stock above size 1/2. That is kind of a widespread problem with Torrid stores in general so this is probably not this particular locations fault, although it does seem to have the worst selection of sizes. The store itself is was a bit disorganized, mainly the fitting room which was dim and cluttered. I also had to wait quite a while for a fitting room to be opened, not the end of the world but they weren't particularly busy. As far as employees go out of the 2 I dealt with one was friendly and one was a bit cold. All in all out of the 2 last visits I have made to this Torrid location, both have been disappointing. I would pass on this Torrid and just order online or visit one closer to you. read more

The staff at this store really stand out. The styles are very current, sizes are inclusive, and the atmosphere is welcoming. What more could you want? I have to share a personal story: I went there recently as I often do in the last hour of open hours. I often find myself driving home from another event or a friend's place late and think I'll just pop in for a minute and see if there's anything I can't live without. Lol Although I arrived within 30 minutes of closing which I often do, the staff was friendly and perky with no undertone of "hurry up chick and get yo shoppin done--we're closin!" There was absolutely nothing but great attitude and friendliness as always. I was so surprised when I went to the fitting room. An employee had started me a room and when I went back to try things on, my name was already written on it. She remembered my name--even though it had probably been at least 3 weeks since I had last visited. Of course I had to inquire her name: it was Lori. She's always so real and cool--but I definitely would never have thought she would remember my name. The clothes are fun at Torrid. It focuses on larger sizes but these are not your gramma's plus sizes! As a matter of fact, I had seen a cute Valentine's set on torrid's Instagram earlier the night I stopped in. I inquired about it and Lori brought me the right size in the exact thing i had seen on their IG. I walked out with the cute red set in my little black torrid bag that night. This store runs great clearance sales and really moves new things through quickly. I enjoy a visit to Torrid even if I don't walk away buying anything...but somehow I always seem to find something. ;-) read more

I gotta say it's always a hit or miss when I come... Staff is always nice and welcoming. Some items are pretty pricey and they don't always have the best sales. However, that being said, I love their dress and sandal collections. They carry a wide array of shoes in wide width sizes. Overall, it's my second best place to shop after Lane Bryant which is just next door to them at the outlets. read more

I've been coming to this location for years. As a plus size gal it's nice to have a shop where I can try things on. Weekends this place can get pretty packed and there are only a handful of fitting rooms. But, I almost always find stuff to try on and usually add something new to my wardrobe. They carry a variety of sizes and I often see up to a Torrid size 4. The main reason I am motivated to review this location is the customer service. I've shopped here twice in the last month and both visits Heather has done an amazing job at being attentive to me. She has been a gem whether it's starting a dressing room, bringing me different sizes to try on, or assisting me at the register. She's patient and really goes above what I expect when it comes to customer service. read more

The girl at the front door was absolutely horrible. There is a difference between enforcing all the crazy rules and enjoying controlling people. I went in with my husband around 12:15 on Sat the 15th. She made us wait at the door before entering, even though there were clearly less than 10 customers and then came back to give us a bossy speech. We listened politely and then went in. When I was picking up my second, out of what would have been many purchases, she decided to tell me that my mask was not covering my entire nose and I needed to pull it up. That is when I put everything back and left. There is no need to micro manage every single move that everyone is making. You will be missing out on many customers if you keep her working there. read more

Oh my goodness! I have never shopped at this store to be honest... but I went into this location and I'm so pleased! MICHELLE! I love you girl lol! She was amazing helping me find a bra that actually fits me. Started me a fitting room right away and was so dang attentive! So so so sweet. My mom was going to purchase the items I wanted for my birthday which is tomorrow. She couldn't get them that day (yesterday) so she asked Michelle if she could hold them for us until today.... no hesitation she said of course... just such a pleasant experience! AND when my mom went in today to purchase the items, she gave her 3 really good coupons to use for my next purchase! I don't usually review places but this was a must! Wow, I went to this store to shop for bra's, I was approached by a girl named Amanda C, I made sure to get her name. I never write reviews and bra shopping is one of my worst things to do but, Amanda was the best she took her time really helped me out, she gave me undivided attention for about a hour, talked to me about bra sizing and I learned a lot from her, she made me feel very comfortable in the dressing room when trying on bra's. Torrid you should be very happy with Amanda C as your employee, she is wonderful. read more

Every time I shop at this location I recieve the BEST customer service! They are always friendly and knowledgeable, I never feel like they are just trying to sell me something. Even when nothing quite works I leave feeling happy just because of the amazing service. Also it is nice to finely have a fashion forward clothing store for plus sized gals.
