I don't understand how the store was at fault for the customer not paying attention to where the line actually was. Anyway.. My son and I stopped in the other day since we were hunting for Pops! by Funko. If you're a collector, you know Hot Topic is the place to go. Before even going into the store, I called ahead since I was searching for Rick & Morty's Mystery Box online and wanted to make sure they actually had one in store; the gal confirmed that they had three of them. Yaaas! The moment we walked in the door, Jazmyn acknowledged and asked if we were looking for anything in particular. Once I mentioned the Mystery Box, she knew I was the gal who called and she took me right over to where they were. Since the website had them on sale but the store didn't, she went ahead and honored the online price (thank you so much!!) which knocked off $10 a piece. She also informed me about their ongoing sale which made me buy even more Rick and Morty awesomeness and more Pops since they had some "hard to pass up" exclusives. I basically had a pile at the counter and she was handling it like a boss. Lemme just say, Jazmyn was a rock star with the customer service! There was one Pop my son wanted...and of course it was on the very top shelf that's on the verge of scraping our outer atmosphere. Who makes shelves that high anyway? Still. She didn't even groan or have that look of "Really? THAT one?"... ended up grabbing two different ladders since the first one was too short, but she ultimately scored the winning Pop and got us checked out pretty quick. Between her honoring the online prices, my military discount as well as their current promotion, I ended up saving $45. Happy camper? YOU BET!

Recently, however, their hiring policies have reached a very low standard, and the employees became not only not helpful, but sometimes hostile. Yesterday (2/25) after being treated incredibly disrespectfully in front of my minor child, I asked to speak with a manager to report the incident (her name was Jackie) and she seemed completely unable to get any resolution. I want to leave here the names Sabrina and Robin, which are both employees involved in the incident, and whom I am reporting to the corporate office. I like the store's clothes and inexpensive prices, but they need to get a minimum quality standard when it comes to the employees they hire.

Poor customer service... Went today at a fairly busy time…read more My wife needed some shorts off the top hanging rack. We looked for anyone to help but it seems like there was nobody to help. Luckily there was one of those hooks that extend out to grab the clothes off the top racks. I grabbed it and pulled off the exact one she needed. All of the sudden someone shows up to "help" but you would have thought we committed a federal offense. The lady rudely came over and grabbed the hook out of my hand and also rudely said, "can I help you reach anything." My wife said no that was what she wanted. She walked behind and pretended to start sorting the clothes by moving each of the hangers closer together but not really doing anything. Conspicuous huh? Needless to say we walked out without purchase and most likely won't ever be back because of this experience. 1 star is really too many...
