Disappointing. I had the tortelli (filled with spinach and ricotta) which came in a sage butter sauce. The pasta itself was just fine, though a bit too far cooked in a few places. The sauce was a total miss. It was very salty, probably from using salted butter and Parmesan. It was more just like a stick of melted butter with some cheese stirred in, instead of an emulsified sauce like you'd find at other places. Not worth the $22 after taxes.

Tried tortelli on a jaunt in the area after reading reviews and TikTok. Value was decent for the portion size and I liked the cute vibe of the tiny shop. If it's raining it can be hard to find a spot to sit and eat which is a small forewarning. Tried the tortelli which came with butter sage sauce. Sage was underwhelming but the pasta was delicious and stuffed full. Felt it was a nice lunch but not clamoring to get back immediately. If you are in the area try it, just not worth the long haul over social media hype

Brooklyn's little heaven for fresh pasta! This tiny, charming spot is the only real address for eating fresh pasta in Brooklyn. Everything was absolutely delicious from the housemade pasta varieties to the salads, which they elevate with their tasty burrata. The staff were friendly, kind, and welcoming. Even though we arrived last minute, the service never felt rushed or forced. Honestly, they deserve more recognition than many 4-5 star restaurants.Despite our late arrival, they didn't pressure us at all; instead, they let us enjoy and explore every flavor on the menu. We brought our own wine, but they also have a nice selection of wines and beers available if you prefer. They even offer a convenient togo service. Truly a delightful hidden gem!

    Tagliatelle Al Ragu

Ordered the tagliatelle with ragu and the tortelli with butter and sage sauce. The tortelli was plump and ingredients were fresh. The flavors are nuanced, though too nuanced, and there isn't enough sauce to give the pasta a richer flavor. The tortelli could be worth making at home if you pair it with a lively sauce. The tagliatelle was a big disappointment. The ragu tasted stale, and the dish was dry, with only scant sauce served on top.

The sauce in the cavatelli was perfectly balanced and not too sour or sweet.

I haven't tried them all, obviously -- too many coffee shops -- but what I have tried, and come back to, over and over, is the products of the amazing team at Posto. It's not just about the skillfully made drinks or the balance of flavors, the fresh, Italian-style coffee or the filled-to-order Italian donuts and Maritozzos (iykyk) -- it's the overall ambience. You come here to put down the screen and enjoy the moment. So often do we rush through our coffees, or even bring them to meetings, at the beck and call of the city's hustle. But at Posto the kind, talented, customer-first team asks you to slow down and escape all of that, to savor every sip of coffee in the classic Italian style. Walking in feels more like a poem than a cafe. Gone are the transactional, disingenuous "how are you's" and instead you get to discover all sorts of fun barista (and bar) creations, Tuscan products, and fresh pasta. The servers and owner are always read to provide a recommendation, and like in Italian cafes, they bring whatever treats and drinks you land on to you. (My favorite aperol spritz is also from Posto.) Outside, the peaceful garden hosts two large umbrellas. It's vibrant, as if you're in a neighbor's backyard and they are willing to share a colorful moment with you, birds chirping overhead. As I finished the last drop of my cappuccino this morning, I realized that forty-five minutes had passed, and every sip of coffee was just as good as the last. Thank you!

I don't feel like Un Posto hits the nail on the head for any of these. The menu is incredibly confusing--one part is on a chalk board, another is written under the countertop, another two are printed out next to the register and they all say different things without explanations of what any of the drinks even are. I spent at least 10 minutes letting other folks in front of me at the counter because I was paralyzed by choices I didn't understand, luckily the baristas were able to provide clarity on some of them. They have cocktails, coffee cocktails, coffee drinks, and several food menus. We came hungry, only to see the sandwich menu taken away because they were out (this was at 3 pm, and they close at 7). This is such a New York thing, but if you're selling cocktails and groceries until the evening, running out of mortadella sandwiches is not the same as when Radio Bakery sells out by noon... Maybe it's me but I'm not particularly looking to get a plate of prosciutt and burrata with my coffee (which is what they had left), and the sandwiches here are supposed to be amazing and were the main reason why we chose this place. We had come here to co-work, but saw that there were no laptops allowed, not even in a specific window, just period. I take issue with this because for some of us, coffee shops are vital spaces not to get sucked into the void of our screens but to write, share ideas, and work in the company of our support system. The coffee I got was an Italian iced coffee with no milk and almond syrup, pretty good but a smallish portion. My friend's latte was white, and tasted like foamy milk with just a hint of espresso... very odd. Usually that cool pretentious European vibe results in delicious food and drink, so I expected to be blown away, but it was just okay. Some of the higher-up staff are quite snippy, doesn't seem like the kind of place where if you're a regular people know your name and want to chat. The accusatory sign in the bathroom really says it all. The best part of this place is the gorgeous back patio, but it's harder to enjoy it when you've walked into a place that already makes you feel like you don't belong there, implying you're a toilet-clogging laptop addict who doesn't know any coffee lingo. I could see stopping in to pick up some fresh pasta and grabbing a cappuccino to go, but what's the fun in that?

I ordered the Portia cocktail... if you like Mezcal, you should definitely try this one. Smoky and a little sweet, it was a delicious drink We order Pinsa Bianca for appetizers, the bread, roasted peppers and whipped ricotta all made for a light but delish start. We then dove into the rib-eye (for 2) DELICIOUS ! One of the best steaks outside of a steakhouse I have had. The marbling gave it great flavor, salted well and the perfect char on the outside, it was accompanied by French fries and broccolini. All a great addition; The broccolini was surprisingly not too bitter which was nice. To round it off we ordered their version of a Lemon tart! It was the perfect level of sweet and tart! They offer sandwiches for takeout as well, which knowing me, I had to buy one. The Italian sandwich I ordered is small but mighty, much like the store. That problem was quickly solved when I went down to Carroll Street and ate this in a local park, all the while looking like a Saturday slob. There are other stores similar to this one that are closer to me that are just as good, but I am happy I came here and gave this one a fair shake.

However, for their extensive selection of quality Italian pasta, you're going to want to cook it first. Maybe pair it with the olive oil, artichokes, tuna, dressings, sauces, mustards, broths, etc. A special bonus is the adorable array of kitchen tools that look like pasta. Like the conchiglie lemon squeezer, penne pan holder, and the mafaldine kitchen ties. This review may be spoiling someone's gift coming up, but such is life. All that aside, I'd still come in if it was a panini counter and nothing more. There is an extensive menu of options that I am only starting to make my way through. My first choice was the Parma, which is a generous amount of homemade pork shoulder, fresh tomato, truffle pecorino cheese cream, and a little drizzle of truffle oil as well. It was hot, it was rich, it was delicious. It came recommended by the lovely woman behind the counter, who was very sweet, if not very talkative. There's even a backyard and seating area if you don't want to take it home. If I had any criticism for Tavola, it's minor: I would like some acid on that sandwich to cut the richness (some pickled red onions would go a long way), and I would like everything in the market to be about 20% less expensive, because I want it all and I could really only afford a sandwich and some very nice pasta that I'm excited to make.
