We bought a new Coachman travel trailer this month from John. After a year of research and dialing in exactly the trailer that met our needs, we found inventory in Los Banos and set up an appointment to see the trailer. First meeting was good, friendly, and confirmed what we were hoping to find with the trailer we had researched. John was courteous during this interaction and drove us around the lot answering questions. We appreciated that he didn't try to upsell us on other inventory that didn't meet the specifications we had been looking for. By the time we left, we placed a deposit on the trailer to go home and sleep on it. John handled some of the DMV paperwork over the phone and via text to streamline the process when we arrived for pickup. We agreed on final configuration including a lithium battery to be able to dry camp for multiple days running our fridge and basic power. Assuming the vendor whose sole purpose is selling RVs to people knew exactly how to outfit an RV electrical system, we didn't ask a lot of questions or do the electrical homework ourselves before delivery. Looking back, this was a huge error. Our first night home the trailer had no battery power. Hours later and many phone calls to Forest River roadside assistance, we discovered the tech who had inspected our trailer when we picked it up blew a fuse and never verified that the battery actually worked. Strike one. A quick trip to an auto store got us replacement fuses and we were able to charge up at home before our first trip. Much later, John finally texted back "XXXX showed you the battery disconnect switch?" Irrelevant and too late. First day we take the trailer out, we noticed the toilet bowl was full. That was a fun find. Dirty footprints all over the toilet and flush pedal, and a bowl full of pee? Strike two. By the second day of our trip, we had lost battery power and the fridge turned off while we were out hiking. Coming back to spoiled food and a thawed freezer at a remote site in the mountains was unpleasant. We diagnosed the entire electrical system to learn that they sold us a 100Ah battery at 100% price markup to run a fridge, which was never going to be possible. Strike three. read more

Took months to repair my trailer and kept the power cord and other parts. They had trouble getting parts from the manufacturer, I went to the website for the manufacturer and left a message and received a response the next business day. They don't appear to be bad people, but they did appear to be complacent and careless. read more

The dealership was great at the Alameda RV show and when we picked up our unit at the dealership. One of the main reasons we decided to purchase the trailer from them is because they said they had the best service department and was worth the long drive to get our service done by them. We have only used our new trailer one time so far. We have owned it for a few months, however we have been working on upgrading the solar and other items before we started using it. Even though it was a very long time ago, I started my working career in the RV industry as a RV tech and moved on after becoming a floor plan designer for a leading RV manufacturer till I moved on. I have been for the most part just been trying to get the small simple items repaired with no big issues. However, the more costly items has been more like pulling teeth from a running tiger. We purchased the unit at the Alameda RV show and ordered the carpet fitted kit for the unit from the factory rep and our sales rep. It seems like, what the dealer has done is purchased a roll of carpet at some local carpet place and it does not fit at all. In fact, you can't even use the table or walk in the door without tripping on it. This is because the carpets raw edges rolls up, sticking 3" above the entry threshold and has unfinished edges that roll up on 3 sides. We were expecting a finished carpet kit just like what we turned in with our trade in. It came with fitted carpeting. The rear entry door jam is severely damaged all around the striker plate. From the very beginning from the factory it appears. I have requested that the door jam be replaced. It looks terrible because it was dented from both sides when installed, and looks like someone took a hammer to it to make it fit for some unknown reason. At one point, and after being told from Bobby, the service manager, the factory refused to replace the door and a customer was to own a damaged unit. At that point, I asked to take the issue to the next level, to the dealership manager. Henry then started by offering a cash settlement, that seemed like the easiest way because he was not sure they could replace the decals just the way they should be. He then came back after us reaching a payout agreement and decided to involve the factory and they are requiring that the complete door now needs to be replaced, so it is going to now take another 6 to 8 weeks to get the door in stock and another trip to the dealership. I will be holding them to exact alignment for the fit and lines around the outside and inside along with perfect alignment of the decals. I do have faith there men can do the work. So far I have made 3 round trips of 275 miles each trip and now have to do it again, with a cost of $450 total in fuel so far. This has been very frustrating, it has taken too many phone calls and emails to get things taken care of. All in all, they are a good dealership and the facility is very nice, but it should not be this difficult to get the things taken care of after purchasing a brand new trailer. read more

Just bought a new 2022 Rockwood Roo from Toscano. We had a wonderful experience from beginning to end. Cleve and John were very professional and courteous thru our entire transaction. It was the Saturday of Labor Day weekend, and I heard the carbon monoxide/propane alarm going off in my Lance camper. It is stored in a utility shed when it is not on my truck, and the last two days of every month, I plug it in to main power just to check that everything is working. I unplug it, turn on the propane and run the generator for 5 minutes as well. I could smell what I thought was gas when I entered the shed. So, I freaked out wondering what the problem was. Due to the holiday, I didn't think anyone would be working in service that weekend. BUT, Rick was there and talked me through what could have ended up in an explosion or fire. I have a battery trickle down charger that I keep on my batteries when I am not using the camper. And, when I plug in to power, I have not disconnected that. This time, having both the power and the trickle down charger was cooking my batteries and what I smelled was battery acid. When I raised the panel door to the batteries, they were SOOO hot. I am just lucky I heard the alarm after less than an hour. Rick talked me through turning off the alarm, which only sounded as a warning because it was not getting power from the batteries. There was no gas or carbon monoxide leaking. He also walked me through everything so that it would never happen again. I am SOOO thankful that he was working last weekend ~ but I think he deserves a long weekend off for saving me from a really bad situation! THANK YOU RICK!! P.S. Eric helped me with replacing a moon roof a few years ago that was quite an ordeal as the part came from Germany and shipping was greatly impacted by Covid. He is great too! read more

Last week the brake controller malfunctioned and the electricity on the trailer stopped working. I called Toscano RV and got Rick on the phone. Toscano RV service department is the ‼‼B E S T‼‼ We needed warranty work done on our 2019 Airstream. We did not buy from Toscano but were in the area visiting family for the holidays and had a list of a few things that needed fixing. We live in our Airstream full time so length of service is important to us. They were amazing. Friendly, attentive, had all the parts we told them we needed, got us in promptly and got it all done quicker than we anticipated! And all done perfectly. Later, while still in the area, we noticed water on the floor of our bathroom. Thought it might be the toilet so we asked about parts to fix it ourselves. They reminded us we are still under warranty and had a new toilet on site so suggested we do that! Easy peasy! We pulled in this morning. Without a prior appointment. They told us to not even unhook. They can get it done in a jiffy. Now we have a new sparkly toilet which is even better than the model we had! But wait! While they were in the bathroom, they decided to check the hot water heater connections under the sink and found a leak there! They replaced that part and we were on our way. All within an hour. This was our first RV purchase, and it could not have gone any better. Our salesperson Gilbert was friendly, low pressure, and quite informative. We knew the exact popup we wanted to purchase, and they were the only RV dealer within 300 miles that had one in stock. If you've followed the industry at all, you are well aware there is a huge shortage of RVs. Knowing that, we were expecting to pay full sticker, but was hoping to deal. After some brief negotiations, we agreed on a price that was amenable to both parties. When it came to picking up our popup trailer, this is where Toscano RV really shined. There were a couple of accessories missing that the team found and brought to us. Paperwork was quick and thorough. By far, however, the best part of the entire process was going through the training demonstration with their service technician, Pablo. Pablo is extremely knowledgable about his products, and demonstrates them in a way that truly teaches you what and why you are doing with your product. Even on our small tent trailer, he spent close to 90 minutes showing us each and every detail about the electrical, plumbing, mechanical and every other system. My wife took video of most of the training, and we have referred back to it time and time again. After the team at Toscano RV set up our tow vehicle, Pablo came once again to thoroughly demonstrate how to connect the hitch, secure the trailer, chains, etc. We went through the process several times, in order to make sure we were quite competent AND confident in hitching and unhitching. We then went into the cabin where he explained the trailer brakes, including a physics lesson. I honestly can't sing Pablo's praise enough -- he is truly one of Toscano's most valuable employees. Review #1 - The ordering experience and support during that process. The next review will update the experience of walkthrough and delivery, but right now I want to review the last two months of contact and continued feedback and support. We found a little trailer we wanted, and in the area we live, it was a lot more money than nearer where it was built. After a lot of research online, I (luckily) stumbled on Toscano RV in Los Baños. I sent an email, and John responded. We exchanged several emails and texts. Turns out John could get us what we wanted for a lot cheaper than the local company. We took a leap of faith and ordered. Since then we have been in touch with John on several occasions. I have to say, John is so responsive, so quickly, and with such detail and support that I keep thinking this is too-good-to-be-true. A few weeks ago John texts me; the trailer is in. We arranged a date and time to do the walkthrough and have a few suggested items installed onto the car and trailer: weight distributing hitch, sway control bars. All this time John has suggested things that have really saved our bacon. We are new to travel trailer camping, just making the move from a little tent trailer. John reminded me that we would want to have a braking system installed for the trailer with the right wiring. He sent me schematics, links to sites, and reviews. I contacted a local place to do the work and John reviewed the bid I got and suggested I buy the parts and save myself $140. Are you getting the picture here? Why I am thinking this is all too good? So the local guy accepts, installs the system according to schematics and suggestions from John, and I save $140 and get the thing done right. John sets up a date and time for us to come down there (a 7+ hour drive) and do the walkthrough. Then I ask him about adding a trailer hitch to the trailer to take our bikes along. He reviews the hitch and calls me. He lets me know, as I had just discovered, that it could void the warranty and suggests a bike carrier that attaches to the tongue of the trailer. I do some research, find one that looks good, and I am now assured not to mess up my warranty, or the frame. So, up to this point I am, well, pretty amazed at this whole process and level of support. If the walkthrough and the delivery are anywhere near this level of service, I will be truly impressed. Stay tuned for the next installment. In the meantime, thank you, John.
