March 2017, a tooth snapped off while eating dinner. I'm happy to have found a dentist who can see me the next day since I was in pain. He was able to temporarily glue it back until I become permanent at this new job and have insurance. Unfortunately (or fortunately) this dentist is not in my dental insurance network. Two months later, tooth fell off again. I saw a different dentist who glued it back. Thereafter, I visited the oral surgeon to whom they referred me. They were good, but inside me says that I should get a second opinion. Dental office #3, I went to see last month, August 2017. This office was almost great but the insurance/finance gal frustrated me. Not sure whether she really knows what she's doing. Needless to say, I decided to see Dental office #4, Brookwood Dental Center. It's as if I have been "dating" guys who are "nice" but gave no spark, I think I found "The One." Dr. Stegmann did not make me feel as if I'm just "squeezed" between VIP patients. I could sense that he heard me -- me, as a competent person; me, as one who is asking for a caring help. I also sensed his labor over my dilemma (ie costs) versus what is good for my dental health. And he courteously acknowledged the pleasure of meeting me before he exited the room. It felt sincere and not a perfunctory gesture. Then Lisa, the insurance/finance person, came in with her customary papers. I had to stop her after a few minutes, to tell her how comfortable she made me feel and how I appreciate her gentle, knowledgeable, caring presentation of the plan costs. Her want to meet my (financial) concerns is palpable! She was not just pointing out how much I need to cough up. She met me in a way as if she's there to help me afford "this." It was a breath of fresh air to meet one like Lisa, doing her job, with the attitude of wanting to help and be helpful. As I mentioned earlier, like dating, I may have found the Dental Office that I want to continue to see. I am now hopeful that I could once again have a long-term relationship with my DMD and his staff. Thank you Lisa, Jessica and Dr. Stegmann for the pleasant visit.

However her dental hygienist is bad and she is unprofessional. I can't remember her name. I had no problem with teeth cleaning before until this one. She is bad at cleaning. She wasn't gentle, kept pushing the tools on my healthy teeth. It makes me uncomfortable. I supposed to feel relaxed and happy with my clean teeth. At the end, I had to tell her the same that I will not see her for cleaning anymore.

It's a family office with technology you see in higher income areas so I don't have to spend additional travel time to get superior care. GF had taken her kids and been seen by Dr. Jeff on two separate occasions, but it took their office (who only has this one horrible lady managing their insurance claims) SIX MONTHS to INCORRECTLY bill the COPAY at $1800! For reference, the GF's insurance caps in-network dentistry copay at $75; but this lady has the audacity to turn a customer away from a scheduled visit because she TOO LAZY to pick up the phone and confirm with the company on the CONTRACTUAL amount their office agreed to charge to get business from this insurance's clients! So this secretary "guestimates (her words)" the the GF needs to pay $200 before she'll let her see the dentist! My partner questioned best business practice and asked for verification of the amount, that got refused. GF starts getting heated and asks to speak directly with the doctor ("Maybe the Doc values his business more than this lady does"), so the secretary refused service and asked her to leave. My GF questioning this lady almost went "Full Karen" trying to get straightforward answers on why the bills/copays were so drastically different on paper. Currently, she's in tears having lost a dentist that actually accommodated both her and her children. DO NOT give this office business with a face like this. That lady's got to go.

After her excellent feedback on this dentist and a bad experience at my previous provider's office I switched and have never been so happy with my dental appointments. Donna is an amazing hygienist and is always happy to see me. I cant say enough good things about them, just go for yourself and you will not be sorry.

Recently, Essence…read moreHealthcare switched their dental coverage to Liberty Dental...when my husband went in for his regular exam and cleaning, he asked specifically if Sunset Hills Dental took his new Dental coverage, and they said yes. Two days AFTER his appointment, the office called and said that they were considered out-of-network, and that he now owed almost $300. Then the snippy person at the office told him it shouldn't be a big deal because he's always been paying out of pocket. WTAF????? For the record, other than dental work, the most he has paid out of pocket was about $80 when the office started doing xrays twice a year to pad their billing, and his former insurance only paid for xrays once a year. I have been a patient at Sunset Hills Dental as well; they have lost me as well. I have already found another dental practice and will not return to SHDG.
