I was referred to this company by Home Depot, to handle an installation. They quoted over $1,000 HIGHER than a major national, licensed, insured and bonded plumbing company with an office in Manchester NH. I used the other plumbing company (who I had actually used before). They showed up as promised the very next morning, and courteously and professionally installed what I needed, with a smile, and charged $1,000 less! Buyer beware. And shame on Home Depot for having this company on their "lead list." read more

I called into total climate control today to have my hot water mix valve replaced. I already knew this was my problem and stated this to the receptionist. She told me it would be $94 to have the service tech out to my house. I accepted as I assumed they would come to my house to fix my valve. The technician arrived at my house, as I greeted him he asked what the problem was. I told him I needed a mix valve replaced, immediately he told me he couldn't do it today but to let him see it. After showing him he went to his truck, after a few minutes came back to my door and gave me a quote for $640. I laughed and asked if he was joking, as the repair is pretty simple if you have the soldering tool. He said they are flat rate and that's what it cost. I told him there's no way I am posting that kind of money for one valve, so they proceeded to still charge me a $94 "diagnosis" fee, which they did not even do, I told them the problem over the phone and to the tech before be even walked into my house. After feeling ripped off, I found a licensed plumber who is a family friend, told me to buy the $90 part and he will install for $100 (actually he said he'd do it for free, but I don't believe in charity work as I work in the service world). In summary, don't use this company, they are a huge rip off, way over charge, and I just can't believe they take advantage of people like this. read more

My regular AC guy was out so I called them and a week later they showed up did nothing and charged me $193. They said I needed a new compressor and fan for about $4000. I waited for a week until my regular AC guy came back and he replaced the filters cleaned it out and it worked fine. He charged me $237. Don't use them no matter what anyone says read more

I've had a few so called heater specialists work on my steam boiler, that could not fix the issues I was having with my system. I decided to have TCC, ( Total Climate Control) from Boscawen, NH come in and try to see if they could fix the issues. Not only did they fix the issues, they are very reasonable on the price they charged, Very proffesional, and also extreamly courteous. We were told today someone would be here in the afternoon to fix our gas control valve on our new water heater (only a week old). We called in the afternoon to check and we were told the "technician" was on another call and would be here soon. 2 hours later we called and got the same excuse. Two more hours later (8:30p.m.) we were told by the "after ours person" we needed to be home the next morning for someone to come - after we were already home today! I worked for this company for 6 months. The owner made office staff cry on several occasions. He sent inexperienced helpers to install jobs without professional supervision. After I quit, he withheld pay that he owed me stating that I had made mistakes on install requirements. I spoke with multiple customers who told me different stories than the owner had told me. I took him to court to get nearly $3,000 he owed me. I was only able to get $1,100 from him because he "didn't have any records" of the work his company performed. read more

Like the other review says, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY for any services. They will get your money for the initial visit to check your system. Then we made an appointment for ONE MONTH OUT. Fine, we waited. Now, it's a day before and they called to say they can't come because they have "more important customers to service." So they are bumping our appointment. After servicing our central air unit we were given the option of pre-paying for the next service. (I assume at a discounted rate.). We did. What they did NOT tell us was that it was essentially a one-year "membership" in some program they offer. So when I called to have the service done, I was informed that our "membership" had expired after 12 months, and that this being month 16, it was too late. (The rep initially tried to exaggerate it by saying "If it were a month or two, we would honor it, but it's been 6 month." ... in reality it had been 4 month) It was NEVER explained to us that this was a "program" or a "membership." They essentially took $109 from us and never provided any service. I suggested, in the future, maybe place a courtesy call for the $109 you received, reminding customers who have also paid you hundreds for service, that there is an expiration date. Responding to the complaint I submitted to the BBB, TCC president agreed that they should have done better. He agreed to my earlier suggestion of a reduction in price of just over 13%. I was very impressed he took full responsibility for the issues since he didn't have the right person in place managing the project. However after an unsolicited phone call from a sales person that quit the company, I learned that it appears he took the brunt of that reduction by being shorted his commission. As far as I'm concerned, TCC doesn't deserve even one star... The technician came to our house and said our AC unit was very low on Freon. He filled the unit and said it was working now. He stuck his thermometer down the vent and said that the AC unit was now pushing out air at 57 degrees; however, my thermometer that was already magnetically stuck to the vent was showing 76 degrees. So, I thought maybe my thermometer was just slow to react. Meanwhile the technician went out to his truck to tabulate our bill. When he came back 15 minutes later, I told him that my thermometer was still showing 76 degrees. He then stuck his thermometer back down the vent, but this time I watched his thermometer closely and it only went down to 73.9 degrees. At that point, he said we had a bad compressor. Keep in mind that before he started, he estimated that the bill would be over $600 to fix. I would have accepted a bill for $650, $700, or even and high as $800 dollars; but no, the bill was $1212! So in conclusion, he put $600 dollars of Freon in our AC unit, said we had a bad compressor, did not fix our AC unit, and charged us $1212. read more

I needed some plumbing work done - I called and set an appointment which ended up being 5 days out. I rearranged my schedule so I would be available - 20 minutes before the appointment they call to tell me they would not be able to make it and asked me to reschedule - I asked them for a repair quote over the phone - The repair was almost 4 times the cost of the part - I found this company to be more expensive than most, unprofessional and unorganized - I ended up calling someone else for my plumbing needs. The Heating system TCC installed in January is not working properly. I requested service on Monday, November 25, 2013 and finally received a call from their scheduler 12/20/13 but the scheduler insists they do not have anyone available until January 24th. The upstairs zone bangs loudly when shutting off. The second and third floors cannot be heated at night due to the noise. The installation came with a yearly service visit for 3 years and a 5-year warranty but they will not respond in a reasonable time frame and have to date not even completely finished the install read more

With out a doubt the most consistently bad experience I have had with a company. Their installation of a new high efficiency gas furnace was so bad they had to take it out and re-install it. However, it took getting the owner involved to get anything done. They dripped solder on the carpet and left shavings/wire clippings on the floor. Now, a year later, I call to schedule the annual cleaning but the girl answering the phone has no idea what I'm talking about. In fact, she doesn't know anything! When I mention the leak, she doesn't have the knowledge to understand what I'm describing. I am told they don't do cleanings until January, unless one has an issue. When I remind her that I have a leak, I'm scheduled for the next day. I waste an entire day waiting only to learn that the tech is still at his first job. The overworked tech arrives during our dinner. He determines that the leak is caused by incorrect installation. Surprise! When I ask if he'll have time to do the cleaning, he states he wasn't aware of a cleaning! An hour later, he plans to replace the entire pipe, which has muitlple seams. He takes measurements and prepares to leave. I ask when he will return. He states "I don't know. I'll have to check the schedule. I'll have them call you." I said why don't you finish this job before you go to the next one? One day lost, waiting on a tech. Family dinner interrupted by late arriving tech. Hour spent staring at a leak created by their last performance. Still no solution. Still no cleaning and nothing scheduled. I'm right where I started, having gone through everything I've come to expect from TCC. TCC is in trouble. They are understaffed. Their staff is under qualified and over worked. The products they sell are excellent but they are riding on the quality of the manufacturers of those products. TCC's own performance is lacking, unacceptable and a potential threat to the reputation of the products they represent. Caveat emptor! read more

Came home from work on a Friday and found my boiler was not functioning properly. I called the number for a company I had great previous experience with (Concord Gas Service), which was answered by a rep from Total Climate Control. Total Climate control had apparently acquired the phone number for Concord Gas Service. To their credit, they had a technician at my home within a couple of hours. Unfortunately that's where the experience went down hill. The tech was clearly had no interest in resolving my issue. He took a cursory look at my equipment and stated that it was not worth attempting to repair, and that he would have someone meet me on Monday morning to sell me a new boiler. As it was 14 degrees and falling I asked if perhaps there was something that could be done that would allow the system to limp along through the weekend. He indicated it wouldn't be worth his while, and that I should go find myself some space heaters. After paying him $144.00 for his 15 to 20 minute visit he left and I called another company I had worked with in the past. To make a long story short, within another couple of hours I was able to clear the issue and the boiler has been operating flawlessly since. On the Monday following TCC's visit to my home I called their office and complained about my experience. I was not offered any reduction or refund of my charges even though the technician clearly offered no help to me. I was left very disappointed with my experience as a result. If the tech had at least made an attempt to determine the scope of the issue I would have not been left feeling so frustrated. read more

Be wary, I called for a cleaning and service of my house ac unit. They kept there appointment and we're professional while here. After a cleaning ( if you can call it that ), they diagnosed a leak, said they could fix it. They said leak was found and filled it up with r410. R410 ( refridgerant ), cost about, less than $5 a pound for the average person to buy, they charged $101 per pound, you can figure the markup on that, and this wasn't for labor either, labor was charged separately, I was in so deep at this point I had them finish it, but to make matters worst, the fix only lasted one day, they sent another person out to fix again, after another pound of r410 ( which I was charged again, 5 lbs total ), this lasted another day. After another phone call they said I had another leak and quoted me about $5000 + dollars for a new system, or they could send someone out and try to find another leak for about $1200 - to $2000 + , they then started trash talking the system I had saying it was the reason it wasn't working ( old, mismatched, etc... ). This wasn't told to me at the start, only after they failed to fix it. Thank god I went through Home Depot, they managed to get a small amount back so I could get my own tools to fix it myself. I was thinking of switching my heating system to them as they seemed like a nice company, but now after this, I wouldn't recommend them to anyone, unless they have money to burn, because that's what is going to happen. I would say they spent a total of about 3 1/2 total hours here ( two visits ), of that about a total of less than two hours ( this included cleaning ), was spent working on the system, the other time was spent on going to get a Schrader valve and paperwork, for a bill that was over $1000. My recommendation is only my opinion, you can make up your own mind. O, and the year warranty they offer on the work they do, they told me it was only for the Schrader valve they replaced ( a one dollar part, that takes one minute to install ), $1000 poorer and an ac unit that doesn't work is the warranty I got. I guess the garrantee they get is on keeping my money. read more
