Dr, Levecchio is absolutely wonderful. She diagnosed a problem with my retina and informed me I needed to see a retinologist ASAP. I was able to see a specialist that same day and had several bleeds. I've been a patient for years and have seen a noticeable decline in service as the practice has grown. The office is always behind and parking patients in the waiting room, simple questions go unanswered. It is too bad as the doctors are very good but just a poorly managed and run practice. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere and save time and frustration. read more

It's not possible to give zero stars or I would have. These people are borderline crooks. They don't tell you this when you make your appointment but they use a different way of checking your eyes so they don't have to dilate them, which in theory is nice because you can see fine afterward. But they charge you an extra $50 for that--and you can't opt out of it, because they "no longer offer" the traditional exam. But that's just the beginning. Then they label that your contact lens or glasses exam a "premium" exam, based on absolutely no actual standards, so that your insurance (for which they are supposedly in network) doesn't cover it. So instead of being out of pocket your $35 copay, you are charged $180. The best part is when they tell you that your insurance companies "told us" to charge you that. Please. read more

Excellent customer service! Hubby lost a screw in his glasses. He had to drive to Bergen County for doctors appointment this AM. Tried the glass repair kit. No luck. I called at 8:45 AM Monday morning. Phone was answered very professionally and told him to come right in. Despite opening at 9. Mind you we buy our glasses at eye doctor in Bergen County. My family doctor had been telling me to get my eyes checked for a while. I finally did it and, yes, I needed glasses for distance. I decided to make an appointment for my wife while I was there. She wasn't happy about that but ended up going. Dr. Lovecchio noticed a problem with her peripheral vision in her left eye. She recommended further tests at their office in Sparta. They still weren't able to determine the cause of the problem so they suggested an MRI. The MRI showed a large tumor behind the eye that had to be removed ASAP. The surgery went well and my wife is recovering now. There were no noticeable symptoms. No headaches. No blurred vision. Nothing. If Dr. Lovecchio hadn't detected the problem and urged further testing, I don't know what would have happened. Thanks doctor. read more

My experience for my eyes was wonderful, the staff and Dr.s rock. I will not go back until they lose the mask mandate!!!! At this point, you're being political and I am done with it!!! Was recommended this place by a friend. I was happy with the exam but they clearly ordered me the wrong contacts. When I asked for the correct ones, which they had in store, the receptionist refused to give them to me. On top of it all, she argued with me about the contacts! I think I know my own preferred contact brand! I been wearing them for ten years! I got stuck with contacts that were not my usual kind and got a bad attitude from reception. The only time they appear nice is when I'm writing them a big fat check... Will never return again! read more

I love this place! Dr. Lovecchio is amazing. I also bring my children to this location. I am always able to find frames that I am happy with and they accept my VSP . Recently, my 13 year old broke her frames and I was so upset that I'd have to spend the money to replace them...I called Total Eyecare to find out about buying new frames before my insurance would cover them again, and they advised me of their warranty which covers frame replacement within a year for just $40. Okay I will start off saying the woman doctor is very nice. The front desk girls are absolutely horrible. I will not be going back to this place again. I had my pair of glasses adjusted and the first thing the girl says snobby may I add is you didn't get these glasses here, and I didn't but since this WAS my eye doctor place I wanted them adjusted. I also asked for her to adjust my other glasses she said she couldn't. Bottom line is she is a nasty woman and I've dealt with some of the front desk girls before and all of them are very rude. The doctor on the other hand is very kind. She may want to consider changing her front desk girls. read more

Really bad customer service and no place to go when you expect good service! I went in December 2016 to Total Eyecare to get new reading glasses. The doctor was very nice and friendly. She had all the new equipment to get the best results for measuring the eyes. The lady who advised me with my reading glasses was ok that time. They didn't have a frame I really liked, so I decided for a clearance frame which I liked somehow. Surprisingly, it took several weeks to get the glasses ready. This is an extra pair of glasses, so I don't use it regularly. After 9 weeks one of the lenses fell out and I brought the glasses back to the shop. It took several weeks to get it fixed. After using the glasses only a few times, the frame is now losing its color. So I went back to the shop and discussed it with the person who sold me the frame. She explained to me that sometimes this can happen, but this was a clearance frame and there is no guarantee. I knew it was a clearance frame, but she never mentioned that there is no guarantee for the frame. How could I know the frame will loose its color? I asked her why she didn't tell me that when I decided for this frame? I paid several hundred dollars for these glasses. She had no answer for that and apologized. This is the worst service I have ever experienced in any optical shop and I never go there again. I feel sorry for the nice doctor though. RS read more

We have a yearly eye exam included with our health plan. Every year my daughter's get charged the copay. My one daughter, went to Valley vision and it cost her $45.00, the other one went to Total Eyecare and it cost her $173.00 out of pocket.(Same exam) When I call to try and find out why, they are extremely uncooperative. I was promised a check for the copays for two years and never received them. The staff is very unfriendly. Not going there anymore!!! Valley Vision is the Best!! read more

I was very surprised to read the 1 negative review. I have been wearing glasses for over 30 years and have dealt with numerous Opticians - optical providers etc. Total Eyecare provides excellent service as well offers exceptional products. My first pair of glasses did not fit correctly. They reordered new lens and frames which now fit perfectly. The lens are A++++ and much better than others I have worn. I highly recommend Total Eyecare. They are more expensive than a chain but when it comes to your vision, it is money well spent. read more
