So far everything was fine. However recently I had to take Mister Kitty in for hospital and file a claim with insurance. I have been 2 months getting the run around about his medical History. Every other vet he has seen had his records sent on my first call. At this point I am sitting in the waiting room refusing to leave untill they are produced because insurance is going to deny my claim. So in conclusion you want to see a vet with unprofessional record keeping and be stressed out and lied to you've found them. Really has made me question the services he received when he I brought him here. You get what you pay for is the lesson I suppose. read more

I visited this clinic once with my dog Bailey and had a wonderful experience with Dr. Alex. He's not only incredibly knowledgeable and patient, but also showed genuine care and compassion--something that's hard to come by. After our visit, I didn't hesitate to recommend him to friends and fellow pet owners because of how great he was with Bailey. Unfortunately, I recently called to schedule a follow-up appointment specifically with Dr. Alex, and was told by the person on the phone that they "don't have a schedule for him." When I kindly asked what that meant--whether he was still working there, or maybe had availability next week or next month--I was repeatedly told, "I don't know ma'm, I just don't have a schedule for him." No additional explanation was given, and I wasn't able to get clarity despite asking more than once. I was only offered appointments with another vet I've never met, which I respectfully declined. I trust and feel comfortable with Dr. Alex, and unless I can confirm he's still practicing at this clinic, I won't be returning. Very disappointed by the lack of transparency and poor communication. I truly hope Dr. Alex is still practicing somewhere--he's a fantastic veterinarian and deserves better representation. read more

I don't know where to start. Bought a Frenchie in that had a hold at a rescue in West Palm. Nicole and the staff knew the bill was being paid and a home. They adopted her out in bad condition knowing we were picking her up. When I confronted them they were all in on the deal very devious and they are not licensed to do this. WARNING!!! Do not bring your pet to this clinic as they will rip you off big time!! I bought my 1 1/2-year-old Mathese one morning complaining that she was vomiting for 2 days straight but had stopped vomiting that morning and the night before --In other words she did not have any symptoms other than she refused to eat that morning. Instead of Dr. Jan Zwillng treating her for not eating by giving her a shot to ease her stomache as apparently she ate something bad at the dog park which I told him I had taken her 2 days prior to her vomitting, he ordered 2 x-rays, and blood work which totalled $620.00 which were totally unnecessary especially the x-rays and I had to pay $150 for him to send to a specialist for interpretation as he was not sure how to read them!!! I asked for a partial refund of $300 just for these x-rays and the thieves denied my refund. By the way, when I got home after work my dog was doing just find and she ate. When I asked Dr. Zwilling for refund he said very sarcastically --- You came to me!!! What a Shark and Thief!!! read more

After having a horrible experience with our previous vet who we had been going to for years, we tried Total Pet Care and I must say Total Pet Care was a breath of fresh air. My dog had a issue comeback up again four weeks after previously being treated by our old vet and when we tried to get him to be seen by them they said they didn't have any appointments for a week but I could bring him in as a walk in and "IF" the vet does see him they will charge me an additional $75 walk in fee on top of the vet fee!!! I called Total PetCare and they actually got us in the same day. It was a night and day experience all around. Nicole was great she explained everything to us and even gave me multiple different options for things that had been ailing our dog for years unlike our previous vet. Everyone was super nice and it was even financially friendlier then or prev vet. As they say everything happens for a reason, as bad and stressed as our morning started Total Pet Care made it so much better and we have found a new vet going forward. Would recommend everyone give them a try. read more

We have been using Total Pet Care for a couple of years now, and the care and professionalism of Dr. Alex and his entire staff are exceptional. We have 2 dogs and 2 cats all of which are all rescue and the care they receive from Total Pet Care is superb! One of our dogs gets nervous when at the clinic, the staff member took out a brand new toy for her to play with to calm her down, you just don't see this at other clinics. When reading the other reviews I see that another patient mentioned in her review about how modest the cost is at Total Pet Care compared to other veterinary clinics and this is so accurate. I would estimate I save at least $100 every visit when I use Total. I can't say enough about the doctors and staff, they take the time to explain everything before during and after. In closing I would highly recommend the doctors and the entire staff of Total Pet Care. read more

Where do I even start? went in for shots for my cat, waited almost an hour while everyone socialized, and then the cat was brought in the back, i am assuming shots were given, however, no estimate, no record! $400! yup. it gets worse. i went back a week later for my cat to have a dental and I asked for the shot records again so that I could board my cat elsewhere. NOTHING. NO ESTIMATE, NO RECORDS. Tuesday comes for the dental. bring the cat in at 9:00 a.m. at 3:00 the cat is not started. i tell them I am coming for the cat. oh, we just put him under anesthesia. At 5:00 p.m. I pick the cat up; NO ESTIMATE AGAIN, NO RECORDS. $987! yup. i say to everyone I could i need an invoice. we will email it to you. NOTHING. i called five times today and was put on hold, hung up on and no answers!!! and by the way, surgery for my cat, NO DISCHARGE INSTRUCTIONS AND NO CALL FROM THE DOCTOR AT ALL. I WILL NEVER EVER GO BACK HERE. THIS IS SOME KIND OF SCAM. I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT SHOTS MY CAT GOT AND WHAT WAS DONE IN SURGERY. THIS IS THE WORST PLACE EVER...... read more

My wife and I brought our new rescue dog here based on a recommendation of Animal Aid. Our little dog needed a few extractions and we were looking for a place that was reasonably priced to take care of him, so we were expecting a place that was associated with Animal Aid would have been a good bet. The surgery seemed to go well, he was done within a reasonable time frame. Everybody was very nice at drop off, though a little unorganized since the clinic was newly established, but we were understanding of that. When we picked up our dog they sent us home with a medication called Rimadyl. The dose they were sending home to us was almost double the high end dosage! A toxic dose that could have caused severe kidney damage. When asked about this they said "well he had a lot done today". That is not how medicine works! You cannot overdose a dog depending his level of pain. Luckily, my wife is a nurse and knew the dosage of the medication or we would of ended up overdosing our dog! He is a 10 year old dog and they never even asked to see his bloodwork to ensure his kidney values were ok before the procedure anyway. Then we were going to pay with Care Credit, which was discussed at drop off and was told this would be fine. Now they are telling us that they don't take care credit and would have never told us that was ok. So now we have to pull together funds from other credit cards last minute to cover a bill that was over 1,000 dollars. Im aware that extractions could be expensive, but this was the same price our vet in deerfield beach was going to charge us, so we could have just went to someone we know and trust because we didn't end up saving any money. Also they quoted us $300 for the dental plus extractions. I think they ended up removing 3 diseased teeth. Not to mention the vet was going on about his $20,000+ dog that he ordered from Europe while dogs are dying in shelters, very distasteful. He is running a training facility for these dogs in the back of the clinic, so maybe that's where his priorities stand. Very disappointed in my experience, but I was lucky I was able to catch the worst of the mistakes. My dog is healing well, so perhaps he is a very capable vet, but I still wouldn't recommend going here. It's not a low cost clinic, they practice bad medicine and his true passion seems to lie in training high end dogs. read more

I recently adopted two dogs from the rescue Animal-Aid which is next door. I had to bring one of the dogs in to Total Pet Care to have all of her teeth removed, which was being paid for by the rescue. This dog is a female who was never spayed and usually they don't adopt them out until they spay them, but I promised to have her spayed. After she recovered from her dental, I took her to my regular vet and was shocked by the price they quoted me. So I went back to Total Pet Care with her and their price was 1/5 of the price! I had her spay done there and it went well and she recovered quickly. I felt very comfortable talking with the Vet and I will bring my other dogs in to see them for regular care. Their prices are low so don't be surprised if they do add on little things here and there because you are paying so much less than a regular vet. If you have Zelle there is no charge to pay that way, but there is a fee to pay with credit card. Zelle is very popular with small businesses now. read more

brought in large rescue dog for spay. was quoted $500 for 80 pound dog. when I picked her up they charged an extra $100 because dog was 7 pounds over 80. medication was extra and a $23 fee to use credit card. No paperwork. no aftercare instructions. no medication instructions. no follow-up phone call to see how dog is doing. dog was very uncomfortable all night following surgery. whining, moaning, unable to get comfortable. pain meds given were for arthritis! really? they couldn't afford to give a couple of doses of strong pain meds for a hysterectomy on an 80 pound dog?
