We had a really fun experience for my husband's birthday weekend. The whole thing lasted about two hours. We got to fly a hawk named Logan in a large group circle. And we also had a chance to fly with a falcon along the cliffs, watching it catch beatles. The handlers were all very nice and knowledgeable. They taught us about the natural habitat and the lifespan on these raptors. How to keep them safe in the wild, etc. During our experience with Logan, he even got chased off by a wild falcon and the handler had to go track him down using the satellite GPS. It was overall a cool experience. I highly recommend it for something special and unique to do.

I love the atmosphere! It was outdoors and I got to see 3 super cool owls! The guide was super respectful, interactive and fun to be around! I was really happy I got to learn more about the owls and got to hold two! I would love to come back and seem them!

This was an awesome experience. We had a group of four. Learning about the capabilities of hawks and falcons was fascinating. The falconers were very knowledgable with years of experience. And of course, the opportunity to have a falcon resting on your gloved arm was amazing. They are such beautiful creatures! You will get the opportunity to to have them fly from you to your friends in the group. Lots of great photos opportunities too. We can't recommend this experience enough.

Amazing experience! We were almost 40 minutes late to our reservation due to heavy traffic, but Antonella was very patient and understanding. The experience itself was wonderful. Our falcon (Bunco) was stunningly gorgeous and the views were beyond breathtaking. Antonella is very passionate about her birds and takes very good care of them. I highly recommend this experience for those who have not tried it.

Didn't know what to expect when my daughter's Christmas gift was a father-and-daughter falconry experience. Total Raptor eXperience was so amazing and we had such a wonderful shared experience together. The instructor were knowledgeable, friendly, and caring for the birds and the environment. The Falcons and hawks were so beautiful, magnificent, and well trained. We really enjoyed the beautiful scenery and experience. It was better than my yearly tennis shoe gifts.

We signed up for this raptor experience last minute without researching it and went into it without having any expectations. What an amazing afternoon this way! Andrea, Antonella, and Dave are super knowledgeable and passionate about these amazing birds. It was an interactive experience (meaning the birds will land on your gloved arm) and just overall such an awe inspiring afternoon. Would definitely recommend doing this and if we are ever back in the area, we would most certainly do this again. Andrea, Antonella, and Dave- thank you SO much for letting us be part of your raptors' afternoon!

So much more than I expected, it was the perfect experience to celebrate a combined birthday and Mother Day. I suggest showing up a little early to grab a coffee and watch the paragliders take off and fly around. We got to learn about each bird, have them fly back and forth from your glove and watch the falcon fly over the cliffs. Everyone was so nice and knowledgeable, they answered all of our questions and made sure everyone had a great time. I highly recommend booking your own visit.

My wife took my here for my birthday and it was awesome! The teachers were informative, kind and they really wanted everyone to learn something, to have fun and to get a selfie with the birds if that's what the guests wanted. Getting there was super easy as was the parking and the parking was free! The views overlooking the ocean were incredible! My wife and I highly recommend this experience!

The classes Introduction to Falconry & Falcon Flight blew my mind and exceeded all my expectations!!! There is literally nothing like having a falcon/&/hawk fly straight to you and stare into your eyes. Seriously remarkable how well behaved these powerful birds are by choice. Terry's story telling was captivating - the passion and knowledge she has from dedicating her life to this is contagious. Terry, Antonella & Dave gave me a new found love for these birds and how I can make changes in my life to keep them safe. These classes are worth every penny. I highly recommend taking advantage of this safe once in a lifetime experience. I was a little scared going in but as soon as I was there it is so organized and the trainers put any butterflies to eases so I was able to really step into the moment and absorb every ounce of it.

My wife and I had an amazing time with Andrea and David. My wife got this as a birthday present and we really enjoyed the whole event (about 2 hours). We are fellow bird lovers and were very happy to see that they treated their birds very kindly - didn't force them to do anything and let the birds have fun. Both staff members were extremely patient, answered all of our questions, and were very enthusiastic about what they do. Definitely recommend this! Don't forget sun protection!

Oh man!!! This was a surprise adventure for my birthday and it did not disappoint!! It was incredible. We met Dave the falconer and his lovely Lanner Falcon Sophi. They were both so generous with their skills. We brought our three young daughters and Dave was so patient with my sweet six year old who chatted his ear off. He answered our many questions and managed this stunning wild animal and us complete novices with such care. Also, Dave accommodated our scheduling faux pas and moved our lesson to a different time at the last minute. Between the glory of the cliffs at Torrey Pines (overlooking the ocean!!), interacting with a beautiful specimen of Mother Nature, and having a knowledgeable and generous guide to experience it with, we were enchanted. Do yourself a favor and book this!

As…read morea newbie into healthcare/emergency services etc and without any previous knowledge like anatomy classes etc, I had so much to learn, just listen in lectures and you'll pass and do great. I did the accelerated course for 5 weeks Mon-Thu 8am-5pm. Tips: 1. whether you have general knowledge of the topics covered in an EMT course or not, acknowledge that you are gonna be digesting a lottttt of new information. Get good sleep, take your notes, apply yourself don't just show up to class and expect to pass 2. Create a good set up. I did my sign/symptoms homework over the weekend in addition to the online JBL quizzes. (both graded). This way during the week all I had to worry about was learning new information, being ahead, and studying for the in person quiz and exam. 3. Ask questions, the instructor is a tool that you can use. They are always there to help you and want you to succeed. Super knowledgeable and helpful, just have the courage to ask questions, especially when it's needed. 4. Sign up for your 2 required EMS rides early, if you do them in the second or third week it's better. A lot of the students including myself put dates for the last 2 weeks of the course, however EMS services can only have so many ride alongs.Hence, I just finished the course and am taking my 2nd ride along the week after because it was backed up. Do it early. 5. Make friends in the class and help each other out. We were all able to bond over the topics that were harder to learn etc, it ended up helping a lot. Everyone the first week is obviously nervous but everyone is super nice just put yourself out there. 6. When your class is studying together for the quiz or exam and Spencer is talking, listen CAREFULLY to what he says, if he repeats something or says it slowly, it's for a reason, study it for the quiz/exam. You will be doing yourself the biggest disadvantage if you don't listen to the instructor in class. 7. The skills assessments. You get out what you put in. Skills instructors are there to help teach you and correct you in practice, but be able to make mistakes and learn before skills testing day. 8. Manage your time effectively. Some students understood the information better than others and were able to enjoy themselves more outside of class time, for students like myself, the information was hard to grasp and the extra time outside of class is needed to study more. Expect to be done with class, go home and study what you learned. 9. Quizlet helps a lot, however cross check the information on there with your notes. (the book wasn't really much of help). But Spencer goes over all of the important topics in detail. Quizlet is good for practice but know your definitions and how things work. 10. Not everyone in the class but most were taken as a prerequisite for Fire Service. Super nice to network with everyone on this journey and get more information about the different routes people are on. I believe we started with 60 individuals and ended with 40 passing or so. Overall, the class was not that difficult if you followed these. At a bare minimum, turn everything in on time, keep up in the class or get ahead, LISTEN to the instructor. Great experience. Also the Cargo Cafe coffee shop there is phenomenal. Very convenient. About to take NREMT, super confident and studying pocket prep after the class. Goodluck y'all.

My son's former teachers are always happy to see him when he goes to visit, which is often. He even gave graduation presents TO some of his teachers before he left. The students are geeky, wacky, nerdy, different, intelligent, unique, confident, and wonderful! My daughter said that she didn't want to go to any other school because she is with "her people" and she is right. Dr. McCurdy said in last year's commencement speech, "If you aren't failing, you aren't learning." What a great place to make mistakes, learn from them, and make improvements. I would say barely 10% of the questions in the state exam exist in the school material. They have the "GUARANTEE PASS OR REFUND" policy, however when I called them and asked for refund, they tried hard to weasel out the liability by saying I don't follow the procedure, didn't get a good score a week before the state exam (although I got multiple 97% within the week of the exam, including one at 12 hours before the exam)... all kinds of excuses, until I can prove I did everything they request, then they agree to refund me.... Very frustrated and disappointed with this Company/"School"…read moreThe material information isn't just out of date but erroneously false. Out of date would imply to me that it is an oversight in keeping up with the ever evolving NEC. Erroneous suggests intentional, incompetent and uneducated. There are questions on the CSLB Exam that have answers that do not line up with the practice tests questions and answers. ACLC provided an audio CD too, its got its own set of misinformation. When I brought this to Jack's attention he said that the answers are what is on the CSLB exam, just memorize the answers to the questions and dont worry about if they are right or not. This is absolutely frustrating. Am I really suppose to assume the State is not going to care that the answer is accurate? Come on! I could care less about getting a refund, I was comfortable with spending the money and simply want use of the accurate course material. The practice exams are filled with errors such as "GFIC" when it is suppose to be GFCI. Or interchanging "GFIC" with "AFCI" and that they are the same. Again, if it was simply a grammatical mistake or even spelling, I would certainly overlook the shortcomings. I've emailed Jack about 9 times over 3 years and he has responded twice, one of the responses wasnt even to an email I sent. But instead someone elses login info (Geeez talk about lacking security). I've called 4 times to get access to the online material and was given the excuse that they get allot of calls and wont be able to get me access for a few days. The course material (website access to their "University" and printed material, and even the audio Cd) is frustratingly disappointing. Unless ACLC can revamp everything about themselves, I just cant recommend them to anyone, well... other then to recommend to stay as far away as possible. I am honestly worse off from studying this material. I understand this is probably Jack's livelihood but come on, get it together!

As soon as we booked a Pacific Coast cruise with a port stop in San Diego literally the first words out of my mouth were "And we're going to the San Diego Zoo, right?!?!?!" Fast forward to a port stop in San Diego and a quick 15 minute Lyft and we were standing at the gates. The San Diego Zoo is enormous. One of the docents advised us to take the bus tour, (it's included in your admission fee). It lasts roughly 35-40 minutes and gives you a good overview of the Zoo. Then he told us as an aside "for the best tour sit on the upper level, right side for the best view", and he was right. Since we'd never been here before it only made sense, and the tour was fantastic. It showed us many of highlights of the Zoo, quite a few from vantage points that you don't get while walking. Our tour guide was funny and personable and knew his commentary well. After the bus tour we were pedestrians again. As a group (there were four of us) we each decided what the main thing we wanted to see was. My 'must see' animal was the Red Panda, which I did get to see, albeit a slightly obstructed view. And he was napping. While the San Diego Zoo is known for its Panda exhibit and it's something we wanted, there was roughly a 90 minute to 2 hour wait to see them because of their popularity and, let's face it, it's one of the Zoo's main attractions. We visited a number of the habitats as we walked around (side note: be prepared to do some walking. A LOT of walking). As well as the outdoor habitats there are a number of indoor exhibits everywhere you go. The elephant and the giraffe habitats are ENORMOUS and sprawling, providing plenty of space for exercise and exploration. They're also frequently groomed and modified to keep the animals engaged. If you find yourself in need of souvenirs (or, like, me, a hat because I forgot to bring one) there are shops everywhere. Sun Screen? Bottled water? Battery operated fan? A hat because you may have forgotten one? There's a place nearby. When it comes time for lunch, be prepared to get a little sticker shock. For us (Chicken strips, nachos, and two drinks) it came to $55. While I expect it (we're at a Zoo in San Diego, after all) it's just surprising how it adds up. There are also a number of local artisans who do custom paintings while you visit the Zoo. My wife got her name painted by one very talented young lady with each letter having a different flower or butterfly highlighted. She was amazingly talented. There's a very scenic elevated walkway that connects one part of the park with another. It's a delightful walk that affords some amazing views of the Zoo. Likewise, there's a sky tram to take you from where you are to where you need to be. San Diego Zoo doesn't do reciprocal pricing if you're a member of another Zoo. Since this zoo is funded very largely by admission it can be hard to get a price break. The current daily admission is about $78 per person. If you buy in advance you can save about $5 per person. Given that, I'd recommend buying online in advance. I've been to a lot of Zoos. Each zoo has its own unique personality. San Diego Zoo is, in my opinion, one of the most remarkable. The grounds are well groomed, the park is clean and constantly being cleaned, the habitats are well-maintained, and the signage is helpful and in good repair. I hope to visit again when I have time to explore more. Feet be damned, I could walk this zoo all day.

I would definitely suggest the double decker bus, ride on top and choose the inside (right side as looking forward). It goes around the edges of the zoo and we got to see a lot of animals from the comfort of our seat and without the walking haha. The driver and host was very informative with a bunch of funny dad type jokes to keep us entertained. If you are hungry, I would definitely have a good breakfast before you come. Haha as can be expected food prices are not kind to the wallet. Next time we are in SD, we'll definitely be stopping by again to check in on our wild life friends.
