We had a really fun experience for my husband's birthday weekend. The whole thing lasted about two hours. We got to fly a hawk named Logan in a large group circle. And we also had a chance to fly with a falcon along the cliffs, watching it catch beatles. The handlers were all very nice and knowledgeable. They taught us about the natural habitat and the lifespan on these raptors. How to keep them safe in the wild, etc. During our experience with Logan, he even got chased off by a wild falcon and the handler had to go track him down using the satellite GPS. It was overall a cool experience. I highly recommend it for something special and unique to do.

I love the atmosphere! It was outdoors and I got to see 3 super cool owls! The guide was super respectful, interactive and fun to be around! I was really happy I got to learn more about the owls and got to hold two! I would love to come back and seem them!

Amazing experience! We were almost 40 minutes late to our reservation due to heavy traffic, but Antonella was very patient and understanding. The experience itself was wonderful. Our falcon (Bunco) was stunningly gorgeous and the views were beyond breathtaking. Antonella is very passionate about her birds and takes very good care of them. I highly recommend this experience for those who have not tried it.

Didn't know what to expect when my daughter's Christmas gift was a father-and-daughter falconry experience. Total Raptor eXperience was so amazing and we had such a wonderful shared experience together. The instructor were knowledgeable, friendly, and caring for the birds and the environment. The Falcons and hawks were so beautiful, magnificent, and well trained. We really enjoyed the beautiful scenery and experience. It was better than my yearly tennis shoe gifts.

This was an awesome experience. We had a group of four. Learning about the capabilities of hawks and falcons was fascinating. The falconers were very knowledgable with years of experience. And of course, the opportunity to have a falcon resting on your gloved arm was amazing. They are such beautiful creatures! You will get the opportunity to to have them fly from you to your friends in the group. Lots of great photos opportunities too. We can't recommend this experience enough.

We signed up for this raptor experience last minute without researching it and went into it without having any expectations. What an amazing afternoon this way! Andrea, Antonella, and Dave are super knowledgeable and passionate about these amazing birds. It was an interactive experience (meaning the birds will land on your gloved arm) and just overall such an awe inspiring afternoon. Would definitely recommend doing this and if we are ever back in the area, we would most certainly do this again. Andrea, Antonella, and Dave- thank you SO much for letting us be part of your raptors' afternoon!

So much more than I expected, it was the perfect experience to celebrate a combined birthday and Mother Day. I suggest showing up a little early to grab a coffee and watch the paragliders take off and fly around. We got to learn about each bird, have them fly back and forth from your glove and watch the falcon fly over the cliffs. Everyone was so nice and knowledgeable, they answered all of our questions and made sure everyone had a great time. I highly recommend booking your own visit.

My wife took my here for my birthday and it was awesome! The teachers were informative, kind and they really wanted everyone to learn something, to have fun and to get a selfie with the birds if that's what the guests wanted. Getting there was super easy as was the parking and the parking was free! The views overlooking the ocean were incredible! My wife and I highly recommend this experience!

The classes Introduction to Falconry & Falcon Flight blew my mind and exceeded all my expectations!!! There is literally nothing like having a falcon/&/hawk fly straight to you and stare into your eyes. Seriously remarkable how well behaved these powerful birds are by choice. Terry's story telling was captivating - the passion and knowledge she has from dedicating her life to this is contagious. Terry, Antonella & Dave gave me a new found love for these birds and how I can make changes in my life to keep them safe. These classes are worth every penny. I highly recommend taking advantage of this safe once in a lifetime experience. I was a little scared going in but as soon as I was there it is so organized and the trainers put any butterflies to eases so I was able to really step into the moment and absorb every ounce of it.

My wife and I had an amazing time with Andrea and David. My wife got this as a birthday present and we really enjoyed the whole event (about 2 hours). We are fellow bird lovers and were very happy to see that they treated their birds very kindly - didn't force them to do anything and let the birds have fun. Both staff members were extremely patient, answered all of our questions, and were very enthusiastic about what they do. Definitely recommend this! Don't forget sun protection!

Oh man!!! This was a surprise adventure for my birthday and it did not disappoint!! It was incredible. We met Dave the falconer and his lovely Lanner Falcon Sophi. They were both so generous with their skills. We brought our three young daughters and Dave was so patient with my sweet six year old who chatted his ear off. He answered our many questions and managed this stunning wild animal and us complete novices with such care. Also, Dave accommodated our scheduling faux pas and moved our lesson to a different time at the last minute. Between the glory of the cliffs at Torrey Pines (overlooking the ocean!!), interacting with a beautiful specimen of Mother Nature, and having a knowledgeable and generous guide to experience it with, we were enchanted. Do yourself a favor and book this!

I did the group falconry class at the La Jolla Gliderport with Dave and Anotnella and this was an amazing experience. Sophie was flown for my class and we got to have her fly to our glove and watch her fly among the cliffs of the gliderport. Dave demonstrated lure hunting and it was incredible to see such a natural behavior. If anyone is looking for something fun, eye opening, and unreal, definitly book this class with Dave. 1000% worth it.

The area is teeming with not only healthy animals but also amazing flora and landscaping. Aside from the printed signage to learn about the animals, there are volunteers in red shirts to teach / answer questions. To say the zoo has a lot of animals is an understatement-- from polar bears to giraffes, Komodo dragons, koalas, and countless species of monkeys, I can't fathom how much science it takes to feed and care for them all! The SD zoo is also one of the only places you can spot pandas and a platypus! The queue for the giant and red pandas but shorten significantly in waves (we didn't even wait). The platypus was a lot tinier than I imagined and very elusive, but it was still pretty neat to spot it for 2 seconds as it zoomed by. Loved how you could bring your own snacks/food and drinks into the zoo and sit in any of their eateries for a break. There were plenty of well-kept restrooms around the premises. Come early to snag a parking spot and avoid the traffic! (P.S. There is actually a SD Zoo Safari Park further north with a different experience! Check it out :D)

We were also told about feeding them today, AND I DID THAT FOR ONLY $8.00!!! It was then off to the Koalas, and then to the BABY BABBON. We then stumbled upon something really rather beautiful in AFRICA ROCKS, the Bird Cage large enough for paths of people to walk through on two different levels. NEARBY, tucked away in the trees, A JAGUAR, of all things!!! We were lucky to get to see Penguins being fed by a trainer. It was fun to see the it done IN LIVING COLOR. You walk in and use hand sanitizers and get the instructions. If you're not a member you can handle the birds directly. You get a bowl of food and later can circle back to feed the fish. Some birds are outside their cages which is fun and you get some nice photos with them. The ones who ate from my bowl seemed to only really want the apples. The bowls had a mixtures of fruits and vegetables. The ones in the cages they tell you not to take out. Why? Don't know. Flight risk? For 15 bucks a person, it was a nice way to spend a hour and hear why some birds are the way they are (you'll have to ask the workers there why and they'll gladly share stories otherwise it's mostly a independent stroll through the sanctuary). It's not the most authentic pumpkin patch feel in regards to picking a pumpkin but the rest made up for it. Front and center is a ginormous fake pumpkin designed by an artist, it is for sale for $2000. Would be the ultimate decoration if it weren't so big, it doesn't break down and I don't know if it could handle rain. The cool thing is the artist is on site to design your freshly bought pumpkin!!! The artist, was phenomenal and could shave your pumpkin in 15 min into any design you showed him! It was difficult to communicate with him, but show him your picture and you can expect magic. I will admit we bought a $75 ginormous pumpkin and had our last time shaved I to it bc I had no artistic brain and the kids couldn't agreee on a superhero. It's now covered in mold unfortunately but it was amazing while it lasted! The artist charges $20 no matter the size and there's a tip box he absolutely deserves!! Head out back for all the carnival rides! I guarantee all us parents once rode these at a state fair at some point!!! There was a flying swing ride with the type of swing seats for babies at the park so my 3 year old was ecstatic, there were different bounce houses, a tiny train (if you go online, there's a coupon for a free train ride), a food tent that had hot dogs, burgers, fries and a few more options. Food wasn't super over priced which was great but food was eh. Each ride is 1 ticket. I believe we bought 12 tickets (6 for each kid) and it was $45ish. We spent probably 2 hours here. There's a bunch of hay with the giant pumpkins for sale that I saw many people taking pictures at. There were a few other ok spots for a picture of your kids. Overall, I'd recommend coming here, it's right off the 5, easy to get to, plenty of fun for littles. And it wasn't uncomfortably busy for a weekend.

I was on the hunt for a ropes course for my sister's bachelorette weekend for MONTHS. I couldn't find one that was 1) in the area 2) in our price range and 3) open on July 4th. Not a single one. And then I received an e-mail that UCSD would open up their challenge course for us...a bunch of ladies (and two gentlemen!) who did not know what we were getting ourselves into for a couple hours on a Saturday morning. We only did the highs-only course that was 50 ft up in the air. This included walking on wires, jumping across platforms, upper body strength, and ziplining...to name a few. I know it's not the typical "bachelorette" extravaganza, but I wanted something thrilling and adventurous that we could all participate in together. That's exactly what this challenge course does; it tests your limits and helps to strengthen collaboration, but most importantly, it's FUN! I, personally, was not frightened by the height or tasks we had to do, but it was definitely exhilarating on another level (no pun intended.) I write this review with a profound gratitude for this company because they exceeded my expectations. THANK YOU for giving us a reasonable price per person (every other company I called was $3000-4000 for a group of 12,) being open just for us on a holiday, and integrating such vibrant personalities to lead us through the course. I wish we could have tried things like Leap of Faith, etc., but perhaps there's always another time! I think I've found a new hobby. :)
