Their keg options were easily displayed as well. Service was top notch with one gentleman seeing me search for something and asked to assist. Sadly they don't carry Malfy Lemon Gin and they provided a great recommendation for Vodka that I've not heard of before. Lots of garnish options, including Luxardo cherries which are amazing. What keeps me coming back is the breadth of choice. But the real show-stopper is the Kosher Israeli section. From crisp Galilean Sauvignon Blancs to robust Judean Hills Cabernet blends, and even the occasional flash sale on a Golan Heights Reserve. I love shopping at TW&M, BUT this location has several lows. Most importantly, the incredibly inept - albeit friendly - staff I've ever experienced at a TW. Shopped for various holiday goodies yesterday and asked assistance of finding three items from three different staff members, who each quickly replied with a dismissive "no, we don't have that." Well, guess what? I was able to find them all: peppermint candy shot glasses, Christmas Story lamp glass, and peppermint flavored vodka nibs. I know the holiday season can be especially busy. I wish I could push the blame on that; however, the store was not exceptionally busy at all. I'm also very aware of how difficult it is to hire motivated people, but other area TW&M stores have successfully done so. Oh well. I got everything I wanted (including several seasonal craft beer singles; don't even get me started on how this location "organizes" their shelves- completely nonsensical, e.g., Miller! Gasp! next to Texas craft???) AFTER spending 1hr23m in the store. I think a lil more help from the Elves wouldn't made things a bit faster. Lol. I've gotten on this flavored vodka kick. Who would know that Fluffed Marshmallow vodka was delicious. Unfortunately the last few time at the Lakeline TW they did not have it. So I checked online to see if I can order it. That's when I found the Arboretum TW had some in stock. I couldn't figure out a way online to have them transfer some to Lakeline so I can pick up there, so I made a run to this location. Unlike grocery stores, Total wine layout is different. so I searched for the vodka section with no luck. A very nice lady employee helped me find it. She handed me a bottle and asked if there was anything I needed. I said give me more. She went to check and they had 13 bottles so I took 5 of them. Just to try something new, I grabbed a cinnamon sugar vodka. Headed to the checkout at the right time. They only had a few but I got a wine bag with dividers instead of a paper bag. Like a kid in a candy store the doors parted I walked in and was in awe!!! The Mecca of liquor stores; this fine establishment just might be my new hang out. Who needs to go to the bar? Just go to Total Wine and sample, sample, sample... in my short time (almost two hours) in this mega store I had a sample of a whisky mixed drink, several wine samples, a new rum, and a bourbon sour sample! Hiccup... hiccup.... hiccup... they maybe should collect car keys at the door when you come in! Seriously though... what s great selection! If you can imagine it it's here... Lane after lane of wine, a fantastic selection of whisky, a bevy of bourbon, a plethora of rum, and so on and so on. The people are super helpful! I can't count how many times I was offered help (maybe it was my dazed and confused stumble, after the shock and awe from walking into this haven of alcohol for the first time, that inspired worry for my well being.... I don't know.) Everyone was super friendly and very knowledgeable, I was impressed! However...I was very excited that while talking with a manager about Bourbons he asked if I would like to sample a couple that I was looking at. Of course I did sample and I added a couple more bottles to my basket. The 2 times I have visited this location the staff has been very helpful and friendly. I have always felt welcomed at this location, so I will be revisiting. Product-wise, the offerings appear to be the same here just as every other Total Wine location I have ever visited. I love red wine, Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir top the list. My friend and Yelpie, Nickie, invited me to a wine tasting event where we sampled Cabs from regions around the world. It was very interesting learning about each region and its grape varieties. The gentleman who delivered the presentation did a fantastic job. Not only is he knowledgeable but also a true connoisseur. As much as I enjoyed some of the international Cabs, the ones from California are still my favorite. This review is for a Spirits Tasting class that my boyfriend and I recently attended. The 2 hour class we attended was a Bourbon Tasting and boy did I learn a lot.. The class was led by Ruben (Store Mgr) and Justin (Assit. Store Mgr). They were both knowledgeable, interacted well with the group, were open to questions at any time, were easy to listen to and offered up some good humor too. The classes take place in a private room at the back of the store. Seats are comfortable, room is not too crowded and their air conditioning was nice and cool. Upon entering the classroom we were greeted warmly and encouraged to get a plate of snacks before the class started. The appetizers were a fruit and cheese tray, excellent pretzels, and a great meat tray which had salami and pepperoni. The black pepper crusted salami stole the show...for the food. Now on to the real stars of the show, the BOURBON!! We were given 10 different Bourbons to sample, and were given a thorough education with each one on the making, proof, type, history, etc. Ruben and Justin really know their Bourbon! The stand-outs for my inexperienced palate were Two Stars, Lazy River, Four Roses and the Calumet Farm 10 year. I would strongly encourage you sign up for the Bourbon tasting class. I've been to this location several times with the last few under COVID conditions. It seems their precautions have evolved with time and demand. In fact, they've done a good enough job I actually got into the Thanksgiving spirit a little more on my last visit. Wednesday prior to Thanksgiving (usually one of liquor sales' busiest days) I was surprised to see a pretty robust amount of sales going on with many liquor sampling stations sprinkled throughout the store. HOORAH! They all had masked and gloved servers behind substantial plexiglass screens with small openings to slide the disposable cup to you. Top that with plenty of staff to help with selection and manning registers (all super-friendly) It actually brought back some of the fun memories of interacting with people preparing for the holiday from years past -- a near sense of 'normal' celebrating without being able to see smiles and 6 feet apart. But a nicely done way to bring back at least some form of public bonding after so many months scared and apart. read more

Let me start- I love shopping at this total wine; if you're looking for a place with good selections and prices this is it. I was looking for a specific beer that I'd had on vacation (Funkwerks: Saison), and it was listed on the Total Wine website that this location had a limited quantity. I wasn't able to find it, so I asked for help. An older blond woman helped me, admittedly it was about 12 minutes before close... she said they didn't have it in stock. Disappointed, I asked if another total wine store had it in stock; she said her computer wasn't able to look up inventory. I asked if it would be possible to order a case (honestly if you find it, give it a chance. Funkwerks is great), and she said I'd need to ask the person up front. I let her know I'd go up from and ask, and then she says "wait.... lemme look..... it looks like our vendor doesn't even carry it, so it won't be possible to order it." I work in customer service, so maybe I have a high standard.... but the lack of empathy and uncaring attitude was disheartening. So I asked an associate that was walking by and she said with some attitude no! We've been out! I tried to inform the employee that I called and was told they had it in stock. I proceeded to go to the counter and ask a manager. The manager informed me that they did have a bottle in was in the back so she went and got it. This all could've been resolved with a little more help from the store associate that I first encountered. I won't be back to this location. read more

Then someone told me about the great selection of Bourbon and Irish whiskeys they found on their way to buy some beer and I was all "Wait. Wut?" Bourbon?? Irish Whiskey? Beer?? Color me dumb. Now they have what seems like a store next to every Starbucks and McDonalds, including this one near me. The selection and hard to find items are the main reason to go--prices are not demonstrably better or worse than any of the big 3 chains, a bit lower on some, a bit higher on others, within +/- $10 total on any 4 mainstream bottles of Scotch, Rye Bourbon or Irish by my reckoning. But you will find brands and expressions (aged, barrel finishes, limited releases) here you might not elsewhere, and with friendly knowledgeable folks like Jimmy to help you choose. (I don't buy wine so I have no review of wine prices, but there sure are a lot of bottles here.) Jimmy pointed out blue tags on certain newer bottles on the shelf, indicating you can ask an associate for a taste of that brand before buying--very good idea and very cool. Throw in a full line of mixers, salts, garnishes, bar accessories (and some great bitters) and you have a store worth stopping at. And more. read more

I love this place. As someone who is not an avid beer drinker, I love that you can buy cans so you can try at home and not have to buy a whole 6 pack and realize you don't like whatever you bought. We always get a 6 pack to mix and match. It's one of our favorite things to do on a Saturday. My fiancé could spend all day here looking. The prices are cheaper or comparable to H-E-B. Can't say much about the wine except there is a massive selection and cards to describe each bottle. It's helpful to have especially if you don't know wine. Also a price point for everyone.
