This is my favorite beverage place. Of course if I drive out here, there are intentions but if my GPS so happens to take me near here on my travels, I stop in. They have some classes that are good to attend so be on the lookout for their events. Parking is plentiful but packed, with a few dedicated spots for online pickups. The store is well organized with overall great customer service. And they seem well versed on their products. And there are a few sample stations of wines, champagne, and cocktails. And the checkout lines move efficiently, but are quite tight in space. And I take this as a compliment, but they are stern about asking for ID. I noticed my checkout guy staring at me hard as I was unloading my cart onto the conveyor belt. I was still debating whether to purchase a few items in my cart, when he abruptly asked me for my ID. I nodded and proceeded to hand him an item I decided not to purchase. But then he seemed so relieved when I finally handed him my ID, almost like he thought I was going to pull a fast one :). I Totally recommend this location! read more

I attended Behind The Blend with Steven Wilson at the Laurel location. It was another great experience. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The tasting room is located in the rear of the store. It had a much larger room than the one in Towson. It's a much nicer layout and the room is shaped like the inside of a barrel.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They provided some sandwiches and water as the light refreshments for the event. So, do yourself a favor and download the app. You gain rewards in the form of discounts, $5 here and there, etc. My coupon was $10 of a $50 purchase. The store is always well stocked with an assortment of wine, beer, liquor, bar accessories, cigars, and more. Don't forget to sample the latest libations at the complimentary tastings that take place. The staff are well versed and quick to answer questions. Checkout is always a breeze with pleasant staff. My fiancé and I were recently given a Champagne gift for our engagement from someone on the west coast. The champagne was to be delivered. First of all, navigating how to set up the delivery was very challenging. The store never answered the phone. I was able to make the appointment through Ai. The delivery was set at an odd time. 8-10pm. We waited up for the delivery since we would have to sign for it. At 10:10, there was nothing. I had an email saying the delivery was on the way. There was a phone number. I called to say the delivery didn't happen. The customer service woman said she had a message saying it was undelivered and no one was there to receive the order. That was a lie!! She thankfully made an appointment to deliver it for the following day and would refund the delivery fee. This was totally acceptable. But.... she called back to say the store did not do re-delivery. I couldn't believe this?? She said I could pick it up or they could cancel the order!! Again I couldn't believe it? This was an expensive order. This was the customer service policy for Total Wine?? I am still shocked. The order was cancelled. I told my gifter to not use this company again. read more

I have never had any issues when it comes to customer service, people are always personable, ready, and available to help, and today was no exception, even on Halloween when it was super crowded. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I love the fact that the employees had costumes, but my favorite was Ashleigh who was dressed as The Mask. When I tell you she embraced that costume to a T, she did that![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] She also gave some great advice when it came to the chocolate tequila they were sampling up front. They offer tastings from time to time and the staff is always happy to give me recommendations, help me find things, and even typically offers to assist me carrying things to my car. This wasn't interesting to visit at Total Wine the other day. After leaving a happy hour I decided to go to Total Wine since we were in the area and my homegirl obliged and came along. We walked into the store because I wanted to grab some Saint Germain and noticed a sampling table right in front of us. Art was extremely helpful and sweet informing us about the different selections he had for us to sample. There was a peach Bellini, cider flavored whiskey, red blend, chocolate flavored tequila from El padrino, and a spicy Tamarindo tequila. I appreciated his is knowledge about the different spirits and actually took two of them home. They tasted amazing. I do love a sampling day at Total Wine and recently purchased a ticket for Salid! a tequila and mezcal sampling event that's coming up at their Towson location soon. The Laurel location is my most frequently visit location but I'm interested to see what's Towson has. I know their prices are a little more expensive but I'm hoping the experience will make up for it. It was interesting with the different staff throughout the store. Some are very helpful and others made it seem as if you were bothering them or didn't want to provide samples. Check out was interesting as well. Our cashier make sure to ask if we were reward members and told us about the benefits especially how you would get a 10-cent coupon the week of your birthday. I mentioned that my birthday had just passed and I didn't receive a coupon and he informed me to add my birthday to my profile. I tried to do that while I was in store but for some reason when I pressed on my profile and my account it was taking me to a different page so I just let it go. When he rung me up he did notice that I had a $5 reward on my account and informed me if such. My receipt printed and also another piece of paper printed that I thought was a coupon but I found it interesting that he wanted it up and threw it in the box that my drinks occupied. When we got to our cars, I look in the box and took the piece of paper out and noticed it was a coupon. I was so confused with why he crumbled it up and threw it in the box like it was trash. First time visiting this location. Since I didn't know the store, I asked for customer service assistance to locate an item. He provided verbal directions. The store is pretty large, so once I got in the vicinity of the item, I requested more assistance from another staff member. This visit was specifically for a product that I saw online. Much to my dismay, when I arrived it was out of stock, which was kind of disappointing because the product is not readily available in stores and the website indicated that it was available in the store. I did not want to waste a trip, so I stumbled upon another item that I have been wanting to try, but I have never seen in stores. I was able to grab a few, so now I can find out what all the hype is about for myself. The instructor took us through the history and origins of whiskey and we tasted all different types of bourbons, whiskey and whisky. We typically go on Saturdays, which is usually pretty busy. However, the staff is always readily available and can answer any questions you might have. I really like the employee recommendations that are offered in the wine section. They may also be in other areas of the store, but I only pay attention to the wine. Often times they will have wine, tastings, or samplings on the weekends as well. There have been very good for helping direct me to try a specific new wine. Their prices range from incredibly affordable to very expensive. So, whatever your budget is, you will definitely find something in it at the store! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Fair warning... If you're going on game day or near a very popular holiday, where there is usually a little more drinking, be prepared for crowds.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] You will still be waited on promptly, and the lines typically always move quickly, but it might just be a little more crowded than usual. Usually our go-to spot to create our own 6pack & pick up variety of craft beers, but they've really changed over time & have become less appealing as a pit stop- We've recognized over the years the slow decline of Total Wine's beer offerings, and since found a new closer go-to spot to restock, but a gift card from family brought us back to Total Wine & reaffirmed our feelings- yes they still offer a variety of craft beer (heavy on local features) & well balanced routine brews & new/seasonal brews, but their prices are higher than other locations nearby (for example our go to Big Oyster was 20.99 while nearby can be found for 16.99) their mix&match offerings have definitely reduced over the years, offering less in the make your own sections & focus more on full 4-6packs- and again raised prices (for example brews at this location were 5.99-8.99$ a can while nearby can be found for 3.99-5.99) - they also stopped their 10% discount for completing a full make-your-own 6pack, which was a previous appeal of making the full pack at this location the also allow you to take beers off 4-6packs from certain aisles, but those prices are ridiculous a 20.99 4 pack, one beer was 8.99- it's an easy access place- great to find variety of alcohol in one spot- and you can get the occasional good sale or unable to find anywhere else local brewery- but knowing a lot of the options in the area I find the increased prices not worth the regular return visit read more

The best advantage this Total wine store has over the Total wine stores in Virginia is that this one offers spirits for sale and an expensive variety too This location has frequent tastings of all sorts of alcoholic beverages and all the tastings are free. It is easy to ask an employee at a tasting station to try all the available selections as the staff here are all courteous and there is no pressure to buy. The prices here are better than the government run liquor stores in Montgomery County with more selection. The staff are also willing to help you choose a wine or spirit. read more

Up to now I've been very pleased with the store, however, today I felt that I was not taken care of properly or fairoy. When I arrived at customer service, someone else was in front of me and the representative assisted them but when she came back to the counter, rather than telling the new customer that arrived after me to wait because I was there before them, she took upon herself to help the other individual and make me wait longer than I had to. Expired Beer over a year . Expired March 16, 2023! Better check the expiration date or your time , gas , and money that price you paid for 4 bottles of beer is now $100 Check the expiration date! Who knew you would have to check the expiration date? It's your fault, Mrs. Customer. I purchased Tripel Karmeliet beer on April 5, 2024, and drank a bottle of it on April 7, 2024. My husband said it tasted funny, nothing like what we had in Belgium. Well, I just thought maybe it was a little different because it's in the US. I'm not an expert, but because I was so excited about finding this beer at Total Wine, which I had with a meal in Belgium, I had told all my friends about it. Not only that, but this Total Wine was off the charts as far as selection goes and friendliness. Well, that was at the store where it stopped. So, on April 8, I called the store in Laurel and spoke with one of the managers, Ijaz. He tells me I have to bring the beer to the store for a refund; it's state law. I live more than an hour away; the Towson location is closer. I don't like it; it's a bunch of state crap, but I get it. However, your attitude, like I, the paying customer, should have checked the expiration date, is not acceptable. I don't know about you, but I work hard for my money, and the cost of gas is expensive, so please don't dismiss my concern. You had a consumable product that was expired over a year on your shelf and in your store. How about if I did not live in the state of Maryland? I would just be out of $23.99 plus tax. In today's environment, every dollar I decide to spend at a retail shop should be valued. I told Ijaz the next time I would be in Laurel is the end of May. I have three beers left, no receipt. He told me to just bring in one, and they will investigate. What in the world are we coming to? In my state, our laws state that wine and liquors are sold in one type of store, beers, ciders, sold in another. And, for mixers, bitters, olives, cheeseboard fixin's etc. are sold in yet another store. This is why I was in an adult wonderland at Total Wine & More! First off, it was big! Think supermarket big. When I visited, I was greeted at the door with a whiskey tasting. How great it that? Then I sort of ran around like a kid in a candy store overstimulated with awe and longing. Haha! I prefer a medium bodied red with a chocolaty, smooth finish that's enjoyable to drink alone . I must have liked what the tag displayed but it was just terrible. I don't know if it went " bad " but it was like drinking a concoction of water , pure alcohol, and sour grapes , so bad .
