On this particular occasion, the intention wasn't to visit, but given that we finished dinner early at neighbor Basilic Vietnamese Grill and we noticed this location, we said why not? Now this location compared to others is small. Not to mention that it shares its parking with various other shops, mostly restaurants. Still, you can find just about anything and everything there, including absinthe (that one surprised me by the way). I drove to this location from Boca Raton, Fl only to be met by the RACIST Manager Joe. I wanted to add a special bottle as housewarming gift for my sister and her boyfriend, I thought a new whiskey bottle would be a great addition to my housewarming gift basket. I looked online and noticed that the only store that had available bottles of Sir Davis (Beyoncé and Jay Z) whiskey, so I drove almost 50 mins to arrive at the store went to the shelf (isle 6 bay 11) where it was suppose to be stocked to find an empty shelf. I proceeded to go to the front where I met the RACIST manager Joe. I asked him if they had any in stock the first thing he said was "you know it's $89.00 per bottle"... meanwhile I NEVER asked the price. I was able to see the price online but I reassure him I was aware of the price and that I wanted 2 bottles. He came back from the back, handing me the two bottles. He then proceeds to say "you know we have a no return policy". I turned and looked at him thanking the bottles in hand I said I didn't plan on returning it. He then proceeded to ask "if I've ever had bourbon before", so I replied I have had a few bourbon classes in Roatan, Puerto Rico, Curaçao and even Mexico where I've gotten to taste different bourbons as well as few whiskeys classes in Nashville, Tennessee so I'm well aware of what I'm purchasing. He proceeds to stand by the register to watch me pay for the items no issues there... cashier was pleasant and even placed the bottles in a box for safe traveling. PATRONS if you want to be racially profiled while simply going to purchase a housewarming gift definitely go to this location to meet Mr. RACIST Joe himself. We arrived about 10:53pm, 7minutes until closing. The gentleman who assisted us was by far the sweetest person ever. I believe his name was Juan. I will check his business card in the morning. Anyways, we were specifically looking for Ciroc, as he they educated us about the history of the business and about another type of vodka(Veil Vodka) which was much better and about 1/4th of the cost of Ciroc. Distilled 7 times instead of 5 and had the same flavors as Ciroc and much more!!! He was so sweet and friendly and did not rush us at all to get out the store. He than went back and rang us up and walked us out. Definitely the best experience I have ever had in any type of store especially so close to closing. He was extremely knowledgeable. When you're traveling north on Biscayne heading towards Aventura, this location of the liquor conglomerate is here awaiting you with a smile and variety. I like the Mezcal because they have some groovy options I can't find elsewhere. Also, plenty if options are all throughout the aisles in perfectly separated departments. Sometimes, it's hard to make a decision but knowing they have so much variety makes the shopping experience so pleasurable. Shopping carts are available for you at the entrance which avoids holding numerous bottles in your hand as you make it to the checkout lane. Total Wine and More is an amusement park for my liver. My liver gets excited each time it hears I'm gonna make a trip to total wine. It takes a shower, puts on it's Sunday's best and dons a smile on the drive up. A bounty of hepatotoxic libations tease you at every aisle. While I am not so into the spirits, there is a long corridor in which you can feast your boozehound eyeballs on. I mostly bypass this section as indulging in such can only lead to misadventures , as I will always bite off more than I can chew. The wine selection is plentiful and arranged by region. When I say plentiful, I mean like a shit -ton. Some wines have little cards describing the flavour as well as best sellers #1-3 and employee picks. I typically go wth Peggy's choice as she looks like she knows how to drink her some jesus juice. The champagne section is quite abundant and a little fancy pants for me. But when I wanna get fancy, I put on my pearl necklace and strut for the bubbly. That's right, a pearl necklace will almost always be in affiliation with a good bottle of the bubs. My favorite section, by far, is the beer selection located in the last two aisles. I have purchased many a bottle of The Bruery's,and Dogfish Head's, concoctions which have led to many interesting North Miami nights. Sometimes unrecollectable but interesting nonetheless. This is by far the best place to come to for your alcoholic... I meant alcohol needs. I love that I can come here and stock up on some great tasty beers that aren't sold else where, amazing wines to share with friends, and great hard to find liquors as well. I seem to come here with the mind set that I am not going to go over 40 dollars this time in the craft beers section. Unfortunately that's never the case. I get out of control and want to buy everything I see there. Last time I asked for some help in choosing beer from one of the guys stocking the area and he didn't seem upset to take the time to guide me through some great selections of beer. I ended up getting two six-packs of great beer and I was under 20 dollars! I couldn't believe it. There are certain stores that I'll sometimes stop in and visit when in the area, not necessarily because I need something, but just to walk up and down their aisles, peruse, see if they have anything new and interesting to offer, and if something catches my eye, make a purchase. For me, Total Wine & More is one of those stores, especially in the fall and winter to check out their "seasonal beer" section. Like their other locations, this Total Wine & More is about the size of a small supermarket, packed from floor to ceiling with beer, wine, spirits, liquor, some party supplies and it also has a walk-in humidor for cigar lovers and a classroom area with table seating where they hold classes about beer and wines, tastings, etc. Obviously the primary reason most people come to Total Wine is to find craft beers, microbrews, wines and drinks that one can't readily find anywhere else. Also, in most (not all) cases, you can shop here with the knowledge that their prices will be about the same or in some cases cheaper than those same wines or beers would be in many supermarkets. While overall I'm a fan of TW&M, my two main frustrations are that, while they have a huge variety of types/styles of beers and wines, as others have mentioned, sometimes their selection within some of those types/styles can be limited, especially compared to what one might expect to find in such a large store that only specializes in alcoholic beverages. Also, though TW&M knows that people come here in search of specialty and seasonal brews, they often allow themselves to sell out fairly quickly. Perhaps they could cut back on the cases upon cases of Bud Light, Miller Light and Corona that are available at any neighborhood CVS or Publix, and concentrate on stocking up on the kinds of specialty beers that people come to their stores in (sometimes desperate) search of. read more

Case in point.... I love akvavit. It's not too common to find here in the US. This location has 2, sometimes 3, different types. They frequently have samples of wine available, too. If you get overwhelmed and off track by the huge selection in person, no worries. Just shop from home, online. You can print out your picks and the printout will tell you exactly where in the store your selections are located. The selection is outstanding, you can find any $10 wine to an expensive bottle of Macallan. The store is always clean and with all their signs the wines and other things are easy to locate. I am not sure if they have beer since I never really checked for that. If you need minis, the front has a good selection of mini bottles and chocolates and cheeses to pair with your drink.
