Second time in this store today and the service could've been way better. The lady with the purple hair in a high bun was rude. I asked her for a bottle of Moet as she's walking away and she says she's getting something and would be right back. I wait about 5 minutes, see her come out with another employee and says nothing to me so I continue to stand there waiting. A kind employee asks me if I needed anything else then tells me she's the only one with the key to open up the case. Soon after I see her walk from the front to the back and she still says nothing to me as I'm still waiting. Eventually I see the bottle by the register after waiting almost another 5 minutes and walk over to pay. How rude! She could've atleast said she retrieved the bottle so I wasn't just standing there aimlessly. 15 minutes to buy 1 bottle was so unnecessary. I like to take online wine classes. When I'm well organized, I can usually order from various online retailers and get free or low cost shipping. When I'm disorganized and can't wait weeks for shipping, I can usually find what I need here at Total Wine. More recently I discovered they have wine classes so I decided to take one in real time. The class was focused on South American wine. The pros, we got to taste 9 different wines without having to buy 9 bottles. They also had a nice little charcuterie spread for us. And of course, there was an instructor. She was not a somm level expert, but she did a great job explaining the wines. The cons, the pours were small, LOL! But I get it, liabilities! Also, the handout was very basic and not the same as the Power Point on screen, but we were allowed to take pics so that's what I did. Another con was the rude person in class who answered a call on speaker phone! Smh! You think you would not have to tell adults not to do this, but apparently it is necessary. Wednesday afternoon and I come in to pick up something special. I live an hour away and I've had the item in my cart on the app for a while. There's lots of employees inside, more employees than customers for sure. I see one lady with some kind of machine in her hand that works there and I tell her well. I'm trying to use the app to find something, but I'm not seeing it and I didn't realize that the app is set up automatically for different locations And I was in the wrong store compared to what I was looking at. She was completely unpleasant and decided to point out everything I was doing wrong and then just kinda tell me where the item was that I was looking for, but nothing more she couldn't hardly be bothered. Then I went over to the beer section and there was two employees standing around talking and I walked up and down a couple rows looking for a specific beer and no one bothered to ask if I needed any help, but after being embarrassed by the first Employee I wasn't about to ask anybody else Then I added coupons into the app, but when I paid, I got no discounts. Apparently they don't have to give you a bag because she offered and I didn't want one cause I don't wanna pay for a bag overall less than pleasant experience however anything you're looking for alcohol related they have it. read more

Went in June 9th. Shannon has probably the worst customer service! My husband went in about 15 minutes before closing. He asked Shannon if they had a case of a a seltzer to which he was going to show her a picture before he showed her and could pull up the screen the she pretended to look and said no I think were out. He didn't even have the picture up and it turns out and had the Lock Screen and turns you don't even carry it! She walked out and started collecting carts which I saw her as I was parked in the handicap spot right in-front of the store as both my husband and myself are handicap. So disappointed because she could have took the time to help him and collected carts after. My husband then had to call me to go help him since there were no other employees on the floor and only other ones including manager Anna were at register. And he's handicap. Sad to see how customers are treated and her level of customer service. Shannon then proceeded to stare at us after check out walked out towards the entrance and watch us get into our car into our handicap parking my husband told me that was the rude woman. So I smiled bc she was just staring from the entrance then she decided to smile after she had been rudely staring she made us feel so awkward like she was watching us like if we stole something. No Shannon us Mexicans paid for our alcohol that we found no thanks to you! My husband came in August 24, real fast as we were waiting for our table at long horn. He accidentally came in the wrong way where employee was stocking and apologized. Then male manager screams at the top of his lungs in-front of everyone embarrassing him about entering the wrong way. To which my husband yelled back I already apologized it was a mistake. I honestly always feel racially profiled in this store and really think this is our last time spending a dollar here. Very disappointed as a legal adult I felt very discriminated against going in here I am 22 years old and never have been so discriminated and disrespected in my entire life. Long story short me and my partner whose 25 today ( we were trying to buy supplies for a birthday party today and were rudely judged in appearance even being asked prior 2 times walking around the store if we were 21 and yup one of the store employees was following us around watching us (we had my boyfriends cousin which us as well whose under the age of 21 BUT with a sign saying under IS allowed in the store with a parent or GUARDIAN) we were followed the entire time and questioned about our age til we hit check out (poor cashier was only doing her job SHE CHECKED BOTH OUR VALID ids and scanned both we openly told her we were the guardians (because we are we are literally family) he's also been in there many times with his parents and have never been refused service so I am failing to see how two adults 21+ were turned away from purchasing a product you guys shouldn't discriminate someone when it comes to look! She touched her shirt and said "I don't have a thing to call anyone for help" she then proceeded to answer a personal call in front of me. Rude. I used to have a helluva time back when trying to find a great liquor store or wine shop with a great selection beyond grocery store norms or an in-depth Italian, French, etcetera variety. I bought Aperol in Italy and a nice single-malt Scotch (Ardbeg 10yr) in London, Heathrow on the way back from that particular trip. A few years later the first Bev-Mo opened and while not an the end-all, like, say Hi-Time Wine Cellars in Costa Mesa, it's a good choice for most people. However, I'm not most people, so when I first wandered into the Total Wine in La Brea I was so pleased with the selection and prices. Then, that's where the review pivots to the Rancho Cucamonga store being reviewed here, I thought this is much closer than La Brea! And it is, of comparable size and selection too. Ample parking to say the least. Inside it's modern and clean, well lit and orderly. Sure, the walk-in humidor is on the small side and not always well stocked but I concede that most shoppers are here for booze, wine, beer and accessories. On all accounts they excel. In the way back is a conference room where tastings and other events are held, and if you wander around, mouth agape like a yokel visiting NYC for the first time you'll be blown away by sheer mass of inventory. This is California so naturally a lot of the wine will dedicated to the main growing regions. Their international and Old World wines vary by country with decent cross-sectional selections. Prices are best if you buy 6 bottles, mix-and-match permissible. If you look online you can see if a certain wine's price is worthwhile, but factor in time and gas before driving to save a mere $5. I downloaded the app and am now receiving loyalty points that will eventually save me money and occasionally get freebies. Anyhow, this store like the other locations has a collectibles section with premium prices for first-growth Bordeaux, magnums and double-magnums, and special allocation. If you see any wine that doesn't offer a price break it's because it's probably a desirable vintage or else collectable (i.e. can cellar for many many years). I won't reveal all my secrets to wine collectors but suffice it to say, Total Wine merits periodic visits no matter which location. None are complete clones and sometimes there's a unicorn or two lurking in their inventory. read more

Needed to get a gift for a vodka loving friend. I was able to find the Maui Ocean Organic Vodka. I love that this place has in stock, harder to find beverages. Other than getting this drink in actual Hawaii, this is the only other beverage store that carries it. I was also able to find the Koloa Rum, which can only be found in Hawaii. The employee (sorry forgot his name) was very helpful and recommended two types, Marie de Moy Champagne $ 54.99 and Forbidden Kiss, French Rose sparkling Wine $ 13. For all those 805 Cerveza fans, and I know there are a few account 3 others besides myself had regular 805 delivered to the store INSTEAD of the Cerveza type, because I saw the wrong kegs in the fridge personally.
