We celebrated an early Father's Day dinner at Biest and while the service was fine, the food was not. We started with the mortadella & black pepper fritters ($12) and calamari ($16). The mortadella app was interesting. For one, the mortadella was sliced thicker than I prefer - though it is advertised as thinly sliced - and the fritters were not fritter-ing. If a dish could taste flat, this one did. I was also surprised with the calamari because it was very mild and plain. It lacked flavor and no amount of sauce could save it. I felt like there were a lot of misfires throughout the meal. -the vodka pasta ($18) swam in a lot of sauce. It was so watery and lacked flavor. -rib-eye ($48) was under-presented on a plain ole white plate. And it was very much under seasoned. The best dish of the evening was the wood oven short rib ($35). It's a braised short rib with mashed potatoes, charred spinach, spicy roasted carrots, horseradish cream + ajus. The meat was so tender and flavorful, but honestly, what had me was the charred spinach - they were delightfully crispy. I liked it a lot. A few of the things we ordered were no longer offered on the menu which I thought was strange going into a busy weekend without an updated menu. There were some good eats, but lots of mid things and not worth the money. Despite my own personal preferences, I think Biest is worth a try if you need a cutesy restaurant in the area. read more

My husband and I had a date night here and I seen reviews/photos - everything looked good. We arrived early to our reservation and the host was really kind. She gave us a table even though we were an hour early to our reservation and before the dinner rush. I started off with the pear martini and that martini was the best damn martini I ever had. The first sip literally takes you to Europe! Initially, it comes off aromatic and almost perfumey, at the end the pear sneaks in, in the sweetest way and it's just a smooth freaking drink. The food was really tasty as well! We ordered the meatballs and steak tartar (steak tartar was good, but nothing out of the ordinary IMO. The meatballs were delicious, definitely doesn't taste at all like Olive Garden). Our main entrees were ribs, mashed potatoes and veggies with a pasta dish that I can't remember. Everything delicious as well. The dessert! I ordered a pistachio cheese cake and that thing was to die for! It had pistachio pieces around the plate, but the cheesecake was more like a bread pudding sort of thing and it was the perfect amount of sweet without the over kill. My husband ordered the tiramisu and he enjoyed his as well. All in all, I loved this cozy Italian spot! read more

We visited this spot after seeing it hyped all over social media, but the reality didn't match the influencer buzz. The restaurant was nearly empty for a Saturday brunch, which should've been the first red flag. The brunch menu is extremely limited -- no starters, and nothing that really feels like a true brunch offering. Even with fewer choices, the kitchen should be able to execute the basics. Unfortunately, the chicken and waffles were paper-thin, overcooked, and borderline burnt. The prime rib burger bun was also burnt, which makes it hard to ignore that someone in the kitchen isn't paying attention, especially with more staff than customers. On the positive side, the waitstaff and bartender were friendly, and the drinks were great. The décor is beautiful, but with the current economy and the quality of the food, I don't see this place lasting long. Good luck to them, but I won't be returning. read more

We came after seeing an IG post about this place and decided to try it out. The interior is neat and clean with an open kitchen so you are able to see all the food being prepared. The owner gave us a little tour himself and explained the reasoning and concepts to the restaurant design and menu items. He recommended the wood oven short rib and pappardelle al ragu, while our child recieved a complimentary cheese pizza. All the food we ordered were delicious! The meat on the short rib was very tender while not tasting too fatty, the vegetables tasted fresh like they were just picked from a garden. The pizza was also great! The hype is not worth the visit and prices, being an IE guy I wanted to celebrate at this location with friends. Our whole visit was below satisfactory. The time to avoid is brunch, the menu is minimum and few good options. Plates to avoid is anything that is Benedict for the biscuit is old and hard, the meat tastes days old and the eggs are flavorless. The service is unsatisfactory at best, our server usually forget items which they had to come back multiple times to ask you if there is anything else then remembered the items that was requested was not delivered just to not deliver the items. We were charged for a soft drink that when it was time to refill we were told they were out and not offered a replacement or accommodation for their lack of attention to their items. This is poor time management and attention by the staff. If you are going around brunch time the best item was the steak and eggs, most people settled for that so they would not be as disappointed. The atmosphere is bright and open until the whole lobby is filled with smoke from the kitchen. When being seated your best option is the booth and the worst option is the chairs. The booths are stained but comfortable while the chairs are punishment to sit on. To the company please do better, we are people that are coming to experience something different not be subjected to fast food service, limited options and be smoked out like cured meat. read more

100% recommend - With the restaurant now under a new chef, the menu is a little different from some older reviews and honestly, everything we had was so good. I had the BIEST PESTO and it was super flavorful. The ricotta drizzled with the spicy sauce was amazing. The broccolini was probably my favorite part. I even took leftovers home and they were still great the next day. I also tried the tiramisu and loved that it wasn't watery or overloaded with coffee flavor. It was served with strawberries and blueberries, which made it feel really fresh and balanced. I don't drink alcohol, so I ordered still water and appreciated that it came in a glass bottle instead of plastic. The servers were very kind and attentive, and the restaurant itself is open concept so you can see into the kitchen, which adds to the experience. The bathrooms also had a baby changing table, and the sinks are in a shared common area setup. First, I want to preface that yesterday was the grand opening, and is not the same menu, nor chef, nor recipes of before. With that being said, only bar seating was available. Our server greeted us promptly. His name was Jesse, and he was very helpful and patient. Because it was opening night, no modifications were allowed. One thing that was really disappointing was that they charge per $4.50 per soda (tiny cup with ice) which is not written on the menu nor disclosed to us. Not worth $9.00 for 2 cups of soda. I forgot to mention they do provide you with complimentary bread with oil and vinegar (9/10) hot and served fresh. Here's what we ordered: Spicy arrabiata gnocchi, stuffed with ricotta: 7/10 It was good, but I wasn't a huge fan of the gnocchi, but to be fair, I just wanted something spicy (they did not have crushed red peppers). The sauce was good (9/10). However, it was a little bit salty. Also, not worth the price for the portion and no protein offered for 24.00 dollars. Chefs pizza bianco: 9/10 One of the best things we had and the flavors were there. I'm not a huge fan of mushrooms, but everything else about it was great. It would've been a 10/10, if they put a little bit more arugula and had an option to add a protein. Great price as well. Ribeye: 7/10 Not worth $65.00 (no sides) only the costs of the steak. Steak was not even cooked to order (I asked for med rare and it was more like medium). It was a little tough. Honestly, Longhorns bone in ribeye is wayyyyy better and cheaper and comes with side's. This was almost as disappointing as the $4.50 can of soda. Pasta Carbonnara: 9/10 Full of flavor and delicious. Crowd favorite. Overall, it is a hit or a miss. But, I'm hoping they will allow modifications at some point and maybe review the reviews. There's definitely potential. I was so excited to come back as we discovered this place before they shut down. Aesthetically, it's beautiful inside. The restrooms as separated from the sinks (sinks are outside of great room area). Our total was $157.33 for the two of us which is on the pricier side. She was like no our menu clearly states that there are no modifications to anything and did not like her demeanor. I also don't appreciate being charged for everything initially ordered when we clearly were upset and not wanting to be here anymore. We made reservations for father's day, but weren't made aware that the menu was going to be different prior to the reservation. They charge $10 per person for cancellation.. so we stayed. The ribeye lacked flavor and was too charred on the outside, I mean I like a good sear but this was pretty charred. The meatballs also had a weird crumbly texture and it has some spice in it that was really strong, I think cumin. The pizza was the most edible but honestly a but salty. The bolognese pasta was okay. Walked in for dinner on Sunday night. There were just two tables seated before us, and three that came while we were seated. The waitress was nice however. We always put in our full order at the same time, and let the waitress know that we would like the appetizer first, then the main course, and afterwards dessert. We had maybe 2-3 minutes in between each dish coming out .... This is our table with our appetizer, two main dishes, and dessert in the corner. Between my husband and I we like to get share plates and share the dishes so we had barely gotten a chance to pour our plates when the next courses were rolling out. I was honestly shocked. Food was okay...no complaints but not what expected from any restaurant as far as dishes coming out and really not why I've experienced ever before. I was very disappointed that they decided to shorten the menu. I am vegetarian so items were very limited but that wasn't the issues. Our waiter had no knowledge of the menu, he had no idea what was in the salad or what kind of wine they had. Or even what items were vegetarian. We loved the pizza so much we ordered it the 2nd time but the cheese was sprinkled on and it was burnt from the bottom. They charged us for the 2nd pizza, which the manager did apologize but by then the whole dining experience sucked. The service was just horrible. They forgot our drink twice, we had to wait so long for our drinks, even the food, just to put our order in, took the waiter forever to come back around. The drinks were okay, the madame drink was not bad however the 2nd drink just tasted like lemonade. We went in there a couple days ago. There was four of us. It was around noon. The place was pretty empty. We each ordered a different dish. Each dish was terrible. The vodka pasta, the pasta wasn't cook all the way. It was hard pasta. Italian kitchen and can't make pasta? Calamari?? The pan sear octopus was really hard and so salty. Twice cook? Sooo, disappointed. We were going to say something, but I don't think it would have done any good. I give it 5 months more. read more

Came here for Father's Day dinner with my family, we had a reservation for a party of 15. Considering that it was a holiday, I expected the place to be extra busy, but surprisingly, there were much more empty tables than ones occupied, which I liked since i figured we wouldn't have to wait too long to be seated and served. We were unaware of the fixed menu for Father's Day. I understand this was probably done to provide more efficiency during a busy holiday, so it was slightly disappointing, but not a big deal. I actually thought it was a smart idea on their end. There were probably between 10-13 items on the fixed menu, including all appetizers, pastas, pizzas, and meat (steak, pork chop, etc). Not very many to choose from, but some variety nonetheless. 1 or 2 items were already crossed off/unavailable, which made the already limited menu even more limited. We wanted to place 2-3 orders of calamari as we had a large party as mentioned, but were told that we could only order 1 plate as it was the last of the calamari that they had- So 1 order of calamari it was! My dad ordered the pork chop, but our server later came back and told him that they were also out of the pork chop so he had to order something else. We didn't want to give our nice server a difficult time and were always try to be friendly guests so my dad smiled and ordered something else. It's disappointing to learn that our already limited menu was becoming even smaller as food was running out in the kitchen. Not an experience I would want to have at any restaurant. I brought my children with me, all ages 6 and under. There was no kids menu available for them, but our server told me that they can have buttered noodles, cheese pizza, or pepperoni pizza (all of which would only cost $0.01, nice!). The server asked me if I wanted to place the kids' order early, but I said I would wait until our whole party was ready to order. Several minutes later, she came back with 2 plates of buttered noodles for my kids, she said "here are noodles, the chef said he didn't want to see the kids waiting" which I thought was such a kind gesture. When everyone was ready to order, I ordered what my 4 and 6 year old wanted- one cheese pizza and one pepperoni pizza. Our server later came back and told me that they wouldn't be able to serve pizza to my kids because the chef already gave them the buttered noodles... the noodles we appreciated, but didn't order. I thought that was very strange and again, disappointing to hear that more things we ordered were not going to be available to us, but as previously mentioned, we try not to be difficult guests so I asked if we could order the pizza and just pay for them full price instead of the $0.01 special for kids. I was told "no" but after our server spoke to her manager, they did end up sending out one cheese pizza for my kids to share, which they thankfully enjoyed. It's just odd to be told "no you can't order that because we already gave them something you didn't order," it's like getting a complimentary plate of bread and then being told you can't order any other appetizer because you already got the free bread. The food was also very disappointing, the risotto in particular. I'm not too picky with food, so I won't focus on that, but I just wanted to leave this review to focus on our experience/service received. I'd like to give this restaurant another chance since the reviews and photos of the other dishes look great, but tonight seemed very off. Specially since our server had to come back to tell us "no" multiple times and break the news to us that some of the things we wanted were already out of stock, I was hoping for more accommodations or even offers of alternatives, but again the menu they had was so limited so she probably felt like there weren't many alternatives to offer. Although our server was kind to us, the overall quality of service my family received and the experience that we had tonight made it seem like it was the restaurant's soft opening (limited menu, lots of "let me ask the manager," etc.) I even came on yelp afterwards to see how long they've been open. After learning that they've been open for a while, I feel like our experience should have been MUCH better. I'd like to come back one day to give them another chance, but I might be hesitant to do so. read more
