This review is long overdue. I used to frequent this place, although I always ordered takeout, and I never had a bad experience. I had heard that management had changed, so maybe that explains the very disappointing service we experienced the last time we dined in. We ordered wine, calamari, and two pasta dishes. When our food arrived, our server repeatedly asked if we needed a box to pack it to go. We had literally just received our entrees, and my wine glass was still full. There were no other tables dining at the time, so there was absolutely no reason to rush us. A few minutes later, another employee came over and asked if we needed a box as well. Then our server comes back and asks us if we need a box again. At that point, it was honestly becoming uncomfortable. We were clearly still eating and hadn't even finished our wine. Then, shortly after, our server dropped the check on the table without saying anything. My boyfriend finally spoke up and told her that we were still having dinner and that repeatedly being asked about a box was making us feel rushed. We hadn't even finished our wine, which was clearly visible. Her only response was that she was sorry, but there was no explanation for why we were being treated that way. We just left exact cash and just ended up walking out. Unfortunately, the entire dine-in experience gave us a very strange vibe. It was cooked on charcoal and had a very unique (but phenomenal) taste. I think all steaks should cooked this way (open fire) and not a metal grill. Service was good. Host was pleasant. Waitress took time to order and explain options, and checked back from time to time. Atmosphere was good for a Friday or weekend (when I came here during the 3 occasions). Parking was easy. Price was worth the quality. I don't really care for price. Question is: is it worth the quality. Don't compare the price. If it's worth the taste, it's worth the price. We celebrated an early Father's Day dinner at Biest and while the service was fine, the food was not. We started with the mortadella & black pepper fritters ($12) and calamari ($16). The mortadella app was interesting. For one, the mortadella was sliced thicker than I prefer - though it is advertised as thinly sliced - and the fritters were not fritter-ing. If a dish could taste flat, this one did. I was also surprised with the calamari because it was very mild and plain. It lacked flavor and no amount of sauce could save it. I felt like there were a lot of misfires throughout the meal. -the vodka pasta ($18) swam in a lot of sauce. It was so watery and lacked flavor. -rib-eye ($48) was under-presented on a plain ole white plate. And it was very much under seasoned. The best dish of the evening was the wood oven short rib ($35). It's a braised short rib with mashed potatoes, charred spinach, spicy roasted carrots, horseradish cream + ajus. The meat was so tender and flavorful, but honestly, what had me was the charred spinach - they were delightfully crispy. I liked it a lot. A few of the things we ordered were no longer offered on the menu which I thought was strange going into a busy weekend without an updated menu. There were some good eats, but lots of mid things and not worth the money. Despite my own personal preferences, I think Biest is worth a try if you need a cutesy restaurant in the area. read more

Really nice restaurant with a lot of parking. The manager greeted us and gave us a short tour around the facility, explaining that this restaurant focuses on high quality authentic cuisine and is not meant for mass appeal like big chains. The peach Bellini drink was delicious, though pretty small size for a drink. The pizza here was good, but it's hard to compete with other Italian spots. I think it was comparable to most Italian spots I've been too but it wasn't outstanding. If I was in the area and wanted a nice ambiance for a date night, group dinner, I'd recommend this spot! We came after seeing an IG post about this place and decided to try it out. The interior is neat and clean with an open kitchen so you are able to see all the food being prepared. The owner gave us a little tour himself and explained the reasoning and concepts to the restaurant design and menu items. He recommended the wood oven short rib and pappardelle al ragu, while our child recieved a complimentary cheese pizza. All the food we ordered were delicious! The meat on the short rib was very tender while not tasting too fatty, the vegetables tasted fresh like they were just picked from a garden. The pizza was also great! I don't often do low reviews but the experience we had here was highly disappointing. When we walked in it was hot as all heck and that probably should have been our first red flag. I won't be mentioning the name of the server as he was new and deserves grace but I was told the chefs and manager have been there a while so the evening should have been much better. We had a good size group of people, many of whom ordered the very expensive 22oz steaks, all of which came out burned on the outside but raw on the inside (and not ordered rare). Most ate some of it but one had to be sent back it was so undercooked. One of our members got tuna that was flavored on the outside and fully uncooked on the inside. They brought out pasta with chicken on it for the vegetarian in the group then the manager asked if he could just take the chicken off so he didn't have to remake it- umm no that's not how that works sir. To be fair though when the pasta was recooked the right way everyone agreed it was actually the best food of the night. They also completely missed an order from one of our group members, though another person shared with her, there was no actual attempt to make it right. The end of the evening concludes with an argument with the manager as we got charged for an extra steak (they counted more going out because we sent one back to be recooked- which it was only to almost well done) and argued we just ate an extra one then charged us for a large steak when that was also not what was ordered. After quite some time the manager finally acknowledged that we were right and not trying to get out of paying for food but his attitude and the entire experience has ensured our group definitely won't be retuning. read more

100% recommend - With the restaurant now under a new chef, the menu is a little different from some older reviews and honestly, everything we had was so good. I had the BIEST PESTO and it was super flavorful. The ricotta drizzled with the spicy sauce was amazing. The broccolini was probably my favorite part. I even took leftovers home and they were still great the next day. I also tried the tiramisu and loved that it wasn't watery or overloaded with coffee flavor. It was served with strawberries and blueberries, which made it feel really fresh and balanced. I don't drink alcohol, so I ordered still water and appreciated that it came in a glass bottle instead of plastic. The servers were very kind and attentive, and the restaurant itself is open concept so you can see into the kitchen, which adds to the experience. The bathrooms also had a baby changing table, and the sinks are in a shared common area setup. My husband and I had a date night here and I seen reviews/photos - everything looked good. We arrived early to our reservation and the host was really kind. She gave us a table even though we were an hour early to our reservation and before the dinner rush. I started off with the pear martini and that martini was the best damn martini I ever had. The first sip literally takes you to Europe! Initially, it comes off aromatic and almost perfumey, at the end the pear sneaks in, in the sweetest way and it's just a smooth freaking drink. The food was really tasty as well! We ordered the meatballs and steak tartar (steak tartar was good, but nothing out of the ordinary IMO. The meatballs were delicious, definitely doesn't taste at all like Olive Garden). Our main entrees were ribs, mashed potatoes and veggies with a pasta dish that I can't remember. Everything delicious as well. The dessert! I ordered a pistachio cheese cake and that thing was to die for! It had pistachio pieces around the plate, but the cheesecake was more like a bread pudding sort of thing and it was the perfect amount of sweet without the over kill. First, I want to preface that yesterday was the grand opening, and is not the same menu, nor chef, nor recipes of before. With that being said, only bar seating was available. Our server greeted us promptly. His name was Jesse, and he was very helpful and patient. Because it was opening night, no modifications were allowed. One thing that was really disappointing was that they charge per $4.50 per soda (tiny cup with ice) which is not written on the menu nor disclosed to us. Not worth $9.00 for 2 cups of soda. I forgot to mention they do provide you with complimentary bread with oil and vinegar (9/10) hot and served fresh. Here's what we ordered: Spicy arrabiata gnocchi, stuffed with ricotta: 7/10 It was good, but I wasn't a huge fan of the gnocchi, but to be fair, I just wanted something spicy (they did not have crushed red peppers). The sauce was good (9/10). However, it was a little bit salty. Also, not worth the price for the portion and no protein offered for 24.00 dollars. Chefs pizza bianco: 9/10 One of the best things we had and the flavors were there. I'm not a huge fan of mushrooms, but everything else about it was great. It would've been a 10/10, if they put a little bit more arugula and had an option to add a protein. Great price as well. Ribeye: 7/10 Not worth $65.00 (no sides) only the costs of the steak. Steak was not even cooked to order (I asked for med rare and it was more like medium). It was a little tough. Honestly, Longhorns bone in ribeye is wayyyyy better and cheaper and comes with side's. This was almost as disappointing as the $4.50 can of soda. Pasta Carbonnara: 9/10 Full of flavor and delicious. Crowd favorite. Overall, it is a hit or a miss. But, I'm hoping they will allow modifications at some point and maybe review the reviews. There's definitely potential. I was so excited to come back as we discovered this place before they shut down. Aesthetically, it's beautiful inside. The restrooms as separated from the sinks (sinks are outside of great room area). Our total was $157.33 for the two of us which is on the pricier side. We visited this spot after seeing it hyped all over social media, but the reality didn't match the influencer buzz. The restaurant was nearly empty for a Saturday brunch, which should've been the first red flag. The brunch menu is extremely limited -- no starters, and nothing that really feels like a true brunch offering. Even with fewer choices, the kitchen should be able to execute the basics. Unfortunately, the chicken and waffles were paper-thin, overcooked, and borderline burnt. The prime rib burger bun was also burnt, which makes it hard to ignore that someone in the kitchen isn't paying attention, especially with more staff than customers. On the positive side, the waitstaff and bartender were friendly, and the drinks were great. The décor is beautiful, but with the current economy and the quality of the food, I don't see this place lasting long. Good luck to them, but I won't be returning. read more

Walked in and walked out after almost half an hour. My husband and I looked at the menu for about five minutes and then closed them to indicate that we were ready to order. The restaurant was maybe one-third full, and most guests were already finishing their meals since it was fairly late. A party of five or six people walked in after us and immediately had their order taken, while multiple servers and staff members continued walking right past us. We sat there for quite a while, and at one point staff were literally looking in our direction and still not acknowledging us. When a restaurant isn't even busy, that kind of service is simply unacceptable. We've eaten here before for breakfast and had a great experience with one of the staff members. We even spoke with the manager during a previous visit. We saw him tonight, but he went into the kitchen. Otherwise, I would have addressed this with him directly rather than writing this review. What made the experience even more disappointing was the overall atmosphere. We came here expecting a nice ambiance and a moderately upscale dinner with a gourmet meal. Instead, the party seated near us was dressed extremely casually--one person was wearing pajamas, and one of the girls was wearing boxers with her underwear area exposed. There's nothing wrong with casual dining, but when a restaurant is serving $150 tomahawk steaks, you would expect the atmosphere and service to match that level of dining. Ultimately, we left without ordering. Better service and a more appropriate standard for the dining atmosphere would make a huge difference. The two stars are for the woman who took care of us during our breakfast visit a couple of weeks ago. She was wonderful and actually made us want to come back and try dinner. From the insanely tender wood oven short rib to the prosciutto burrata pizza and perfectly cooked dry-aged steak with tallow fries, every dish was hitting. The meatballs were soft and saucy with fresh bread, and that pappardelle short rib ragù? Rich, comforting, and easily a favorite. We came for brunch and I ordered the steak and eggs and friend ordered the short rib Benedict. The dishes came out and the kitchen made my friend the short rib sandwich instead of Benedict so they remade the Benedict but the only thing warm on it was the egg. She had also asked for no holidaise and they brought it with it anyway. The biscuit was very dense. My steak was unfortunately inedible. It tasted like charcoal. I am not sure if they hadn't cleaned the grill in a while. It was actually a great cut of meat and cooked really well but the overwhelming charcoal taste we couldn't get over. The service however was awesome! They treated us great from the second we walked in and when we told him about the meal, he definitely took care of us. The hype is not worth the visit and prices, being an IE guy I wanted to celebrate at this location with friends. Our whole visit was below satisfactory. The time to avoid is brunch, the menu is minimum and few good options. Plates to avoid is anything that is Benedict for the biscuit is old and hard, the meat tastes days old and the eggs are flavorless. The service is unsatisfactory at best, our server usually forget items which they had to come back multiple times to ask you if there is anything else then remembered the items that was requested was not delivered just to not deliver the items. We were charged for a soft drink that when it was time to refill we were told they were out and not offered a replacement or accommodation for their lack of attention to their items. This is poor time management and attention by the staff. If you are going around brunch time the best item was the steak and eggs, most people settled for that so they would not be as disappointed. The atmosphere is bright and open until the whole lobby is filled with smoke from the kitchen. When being seated your best option is the booth and the worst option is the chairs. The booths are stained but comfortable while the chairs are punishment to sit on. To the company please do better, we are people that are coming to experience something different not be subjected to fast food service, limited options and be smoked out like cured meat. read more
