Total Wine is a place where I could spend 3+ hours just browsing around because there's just SO MUCH different types of alcohol, especially wine. It is always hard to narrow down to just a few bottles because they have such great prices! It was my first time visiting Total Wine in San Dimas and had such a wonderful experience. The Staff were all SUPER nice and helpful. There was a wine tasting event that day so I was able to try out about 5 different variations - it was a lot of fun! We ended up purchasing 6 bottles of wine to take advantage of their Buy 6 to get the discounted price + used a 15% online coupon, so my total came out to just under $70, which was an excellent deal! So happy I live right in between of 2 Total Wine locations (San Dimas & Pasadena). Will def be back regularly. read more

Always some great finds here. It's the library of beverages. Chilled refrigerator section in the far back against the wall. Everything you need for a cocktail, mocktail or concoction. I'm a fan of going to Total Wine & More vs BevMo due to the ridiculous selection that they offer to customers. The location is very well kept and clean. The staff are very helpful with any questions and assist with finding particular brands. The aisles are organized by sections of wines, beers and liquors and even cigars. I like Total Wine as a retailer because they have nice gifts for holidays or birthdates. We have bought really great wines here and we try different brands per recommendation of the staff. Also, signing up for the app is a good idea since they offer discounts all the time. This San Dimas location carries name brand beers, craft beers and imports. I like that Total Wine sells singular items such as beers so you can at-least try one bottle or can vs buying an entire 6 pack to see if you might like the product. They carry a selection of your local breweries at this location as well. If you have never been to a Total Wine it's a fun experience. Although the store has a vast selection of spirits with competitive prices, I was left a little disappointed with the service. I placed on online order for a 4 cases of Martinellis and a few bottles of wine for a big party. I drove up and the person came out with just 1 box. I figured they'd come back with the rest. Nope. I had to check the box and I got 4 bottles instead of 4 cases. I went inside and the workers seemed confused. One seem annoyed at me asking questions. The manager came and was very helpful. While he sorted it out I noticed workers interacting with other customers and they really seemed to not want to be there. My husband asked where they kept there Patron tequila and the worker sighed and pointed him to the tequila isle. Extremely disappointed with my experience at this Total Wine & More in San Dimas . My group came in intending to make a purchase, but we were refused service and ultimately asked to leave because one person in our group did not have their ID with them. The issue is that this individual was not purchasing alcohol, was not participating in any drinking-related activities, and had no intention of making a purchase. Staff repeatedly cited this as "store policy," but no reasonable explanation was provided as to why the entire group had to be denied service. Rather than attempting to handle the situation professionally, customer service was dismissive, unhelpful, and came across as unnecessarily confrontational. I understand the importance of checking IDs and following alcohol regulations, but applying a blanket policy without considering the circumstances was excessive and frustrating. Losing a legitimate sale over someone who wasn't even buying alcohol makes little sense. The lack of courtesy and common sense from the staff turned what should have been a simple shopping trip into a negative experience. I came in looking for a particular bottle of bourbon. As soon as i stepped through the doors i was greeted by an associate. Another associate saw me looking down the aisles and asked if she could help me find anything. I told her what i needed and she excitedly told me that she was just at that distillery in Texas last week and shared her favorite bourbon that she had tasted. I've been to this location before and never got bad service. My aunty just passed away and I was in charge of bringing alcohol for the grievers. The ask was to bring some pinot. I am giving this review as a friend that tagged along with someone, and I am not a drinker, usually the driver. I never realized how many different alcohol products there are and how big of a store they fit in. This store was very clean inside and outside, as well as very organized. It was such a huge store that we could walk around for a couple of days looking at all the items. My friend ended up purchasing 3 bottles of wine that cost definitely way too much for what I would spend. It's probably at least $200 to $300 for the Trio. He seemed pretty happy for good wine! This review is based on the customer service aspect of this location. 11/22/24 around 8 pm After leaving the target across from this store my partner decided to go into Total Wine last minute to buy stuff for the upcoming holiday. Because it was impromptu I did not realize i didn't bring my wallet with me but I do not drink so I didn't second guess. The cashier Melly- was standoffish from the start, perhaps because we didn't look like the regular Joe that would shop at a Total Wine. I explained I needed to walk to the car to retrieve my ID because I didn't have it & I understand it's policy to ID check. As I left my partner explained to me the manager on duty was watching me walk to my car and since I parked by the target it wasn't quick, they said the worker was intensely asking where did I go? Then Melly (the cashier) asked Where did we park? Why am I taking so long? Had I known I would've addressed it as soon as I came back... Upon coming back I handed my ID over to Melly and she scanned my ID and she scanned the wrong area of the ID so it didn't work at first so I asked her to do it again, and she boldly said no this has nothing to do with your Identification, so I was a little confused on how rude she was. Then she was waiting for her manager to come over to check my ID and she said "this should be okay but I have to wait for approval " In my mind I was confused why my real ID "should be ok" either it is or isn't. And when she asked the manager to come over he did not walk over and just shook his head it's fine WITHOUT EVEN CHECKING. So you mean to tell me they were watching my every move all for him to not double check my ID? Kind of crazy , and honestly rude because their mannerisms were as if we were up to no good but in reality it was just two women and a man getting some alcohol for thanksgiving. Melly could've done better by being more personable and respectful to the customers instead of side eyeing my partners ID (she's from Idaho) and my ID (I'm from California) . Maybe total wine should teach their workers how to read IDS from every state if they are enforcing ID policy. Manager on duty could've done better by walking over and checking the ID if he was suspicious of me and my group. I love the Total Wine Pasadena Store. The staff are fantastic. They have a wide selection of beer, wines, spirits, and other fun stuff. However, what they don't have are mini bottles, which is one of the things I really liked when I was first introduced to Total Wine in Orange County. I like minis because you can test out a spirit before committing to a whole bottle. When I heard that Total Wine was opening a new location in San Dimas I made a trip out there to check it out. It was their Grand Opening weekend. In addition to tastings & specials the store was also donating a portion of sales to La Verne - San Dimas Educational Foundation. I love when companies give back. Everyone working here were all very friendly and helpful. The store is beautiful - clean, spacious, with a nice variety of alcohol and non-alcoholic offerings in addition to mixers, snacks, barware...and minis! Lots and lots of minis to choose from. I had to restrain myself from buying one of each. You know I'll be stocking up whenever I'm in the area. Tasting hours are Thursday 2 p.m. - 6 p.m. Friday 12 p.m. - 8 p.m. & Saturday 12 p.m. - 6 p.m. And, yes, I did try some delicious wine while I was there. Arthur was fantastic. He noticed me looking a bit confused in the tequila section. I came in for Dobel Diamanté Cristalino, but alas it was out of stock. He helped me find other suitable alternatives. I came in to buy for a party for young folk in their 20s. Which means they just like to take shots of Blanco. So I guess Dobel wouldn't have been suitable anyways lol. I went with a "handle" of El Padrino Blanco. Great rating and more affordable with no additives compared to casamigos (which has additives) I looked around and found some more cool stuff. Found alcohol pour spouts so people don't over/under measure the alcohol for their drinks or spill it. Which was a lovely find. There was a free recipe box which was greatly appreciated. My favorite part is how each section has pictures of the staff and their reviews on certain beverages. Going with the popular brand name isn't always superior as far as quality. So it's nice to branch out with guidance. I like how the employees actually get to try out these spirits for us! It's not like you could buy 2 oz of a spirit before you buy it, so it definitely helps. Again, I had a wonder experience due to Arthur. We had the pleasure of attending the ribbon cutting at the new San Dimas location. We were in awe and thw size and selection of this location. There were wine, champagne and beer vendors allowing samples of some of their more popular options as well as ones I had never near of before. Great spread of charcuterie, meatballs and pastries. My only complaint is that we couldn't sample any spirits, (CA law) so sad! I know the vendors were a little bummed too but truth be told, I probably would have bought more if I had been allowed to try everything!
