Hard to believe but true: total wine still has a great selection of all sorts of wines with incredible costs! If you compare the costs with Costco or other grocery stores, Total wine still has it best! I went today for some Northern Italian red wines and I was amazed by the great selection and their prices. Huge selection of different types of alcohol if you like to drink, or just enjoy a nice selection to sip and taste. I personally go to the non-alcoholic section but I have my reasons for not drinking. If I do want to, they have a fantastic selection of wine for me. The service hasn't been bad here, I've only encountered a few people I haven't enjoyed. The only time I've had an issue here was when a woman did not want to believe I was 21. I handed her my ID, it checked out and I said "Yeah I know I look five years younger than I really am." To this she said, "No, try ten." She then proceeded to stare at me suspiciously the entire time I tried some wines. Hard to enjoy a wine tasting when you're having the stare down of a century. Otherwise, the store is clean and very well organized. The alcohols are placed in various sections, such there is a section for vodka, some for red wine, another for whiskey, etc. The prices are very clearly labeled and they do not carry only expensive alcohols, they carry a huge variety of prices! Just got out of total wine, I sure won't go back to this location. There was a scissor jack in the isle with no attendant so I tried going around it and got my shopping cart wheel stuck. Just then a female manager comes around the corner and gets mad at me while I was trying to get it unstuck. I explained that I thought I could make it through but she just grabbed the cart and pulled it loose and stormed off. I wish I would have got her name maybe she needs some more customer service training. read more

Bad experience... I was picking my wine when two staff walked to me and went straight to ask me, "were you here with a young woman this afternoon?" I was confused with what they were asking, and the two staff repeated the question to MAKE SURE that I understand their question. I told them that I had not been there today, and they just gave each other an "I don't believe what she's saying" face then walked away without any explanation or a single word. I felt really offended and went back to the staff, and she just blamed on her co-worker said, "he told me it was you" without explaining anything or a sincere apology. BTW, I'm an Asian. I'm not sure what was the case with the two girls the staff were talking about, but I do suggest Total wine & More hire some professional staff without RACIAL DISCRIMINATION and to remind them to be double-check with their evidence before they are questioning their customers. read more

I dig this place ... I really like the look, feel and layout of the store. It feels a bit more inviting than other big liquor/wine stores. They also carry the vegan Bailey's Irish cream that is made with almond milk, so that means I stop in a couple times a year to replenish my supply. ;-) read more

Total Wine is always my go-to spot for wine because they have everything I want and could ever ask for in terms of wine! During my last two visits I was disappointed because I feel like no one ever wants to help me. It might be because I'm young or maybe my lost look comes across mean. I was really wanting to find a great white because all I drink are reds, but nobody wanted to help and when I'd make eye contact to speak with someone they would walk away. My husband and I stopped in when we were visiting Tempe. My husband is a bourbon aficionado and was looking for some specific and special bourbons. Keith was tremendously helpful. He showed us what was available, offered tastings for open products, and was able to talk about his inventory In detail. We'd go back regularly if we lived in town. read more

Jeff who works here is so helpful and so knowledgeable. Always has great recommendations based off of other favorites that are more expensive. Went to bevmo 5 min prior and had no helpful interaction from any of their employees. Came to total wine; much bigger selection, better prices, and they even have a chiller at the front that gets it cold enough within 3min! read more

What a horrid location. Compare this location to others and you will have a very different experience. Employees are very rude. Manager is no better, was in a hurry to get you out of the store and did not care much for getting to the bottom of the problem. If you do need to go to this store, please do yourself a favor do not speak to anyone who works there (even if you are approached). They will find a way to piss you off. read more

I don't know why this Total Wine got so many bad reviews when they first opened but it seems they have taken it to heart because I had no less than 3 employees ask me if I needed help while I was perusing the shelves looking for some wine to bring to my sisters house for Christmas. I declined their offers and shopped on my own but I found the store was laid out well and it was easy to find what I needed. I also noticed they had a bigger selection of local wines than the store by my house. I have no complaints. read more

Wish I could give this store more than a 2 star as they have a wide variety of drinks and other items. But the customer service is not the best. I visited this store with my step mother today to buy wine for her, her husband, her mother in law and her sister in law. I had walked past the same cashier prior to the incident in store and had no question for ID etc. When at check out I was asked for ID By Liz which I said " sorry no I don't have ID". She then asked me again for ID but this time in a Ruder manner. She then asked if myself and step mom were related which I said yes we are. After responding to her, she then turned to me and very sarcastically and rude, waved at me and said " bye bye you", which at this point I walked out the store but as I waited outside of my family member, I read on the door that under 21's can be in store as long as they are with a guardian which I was. We then got home and had realised that my step mom was over charged on her purchase, which we then phoned the store and asked to speak to the manager which it was still Liz on shift at this point. She had apologised and told my step mom to come back into the store for money back of her purchase, which she did. When she got into store they also gave her a $10 voucher for her next purchase. While on the phone to liz though, we had asked if she had been rude to myself which she admitted she had and used the excuse that she gets a lot of Rude kids trying to get served so she wasn't dealing with it that's why she rudely waved me off. After my aunt who phoned on my behalf had explained I was 20, wasn't touching or buying anything myself and that she shouldn't be so rude to customers, we finally got an apology. We had also stated about the sign about under 21's allowed in with a guardian, she then went on to say " that's why I asked if you was related". Even though we had stated in store that yes we are related. I personally do not think I will come to this store again after today even when of legal age due to the rudeness I experienced today. read more

This was my favorite liquor store at one point. They sell liquor and cigars from the Dominican Republic and no one else does anywhere else in Arizona. You can find beer with any type of flavor imaginable. The prices here are usually bettter than anywhere else except maybe Bevmo. I was going to give this store 5 stars but after the racism I just experienced here I had to give it 1 star instead. We were followed around the store just because of the color of our skin. I guess they think all brown people steal or something. When we got to the register there was 5 people ahead of us, a couple of them were in our age group and none of them were asked for ID. When it was our turn the cashier (Liz) recieved a phone call which seemed to be about us because she said "yeah they are right here". She asked us for ID and my girlfriend was upset because were were the only ones that were asked. Everyone in front of us on the line was caucasian. I'm Dominican and my girl is Native American. We didn't feel like we were treated fairly at this location. She said we looked young and that was the reason for it supposedly but a couple of the individuals who she didn't card were younger than us, possibly in their 20's and we are in our 30's. They need to stop being racist or at least get rid of Liz and whoever made that phone call to her. We will go to a different Total Wine from now on or Bevmo until something changes at this one. read more

Nothing like a liqour store trip to brighten your day! Store is bright and clean. Growler station (when operating) is a neat feature. I like that when I'm looking for a new product or a new variety of an old fave, Total Wine generally has it in stock, whereas my usual grocery store sticks to the mainstream tried and true brands. Prices are similar with other retailers. My biggest complaint is with customer service and special orders. You usually stand at the CS desk for a good chunk of time before anyone recognizes that you are there. Then the desk itself is a mess, so they have to clean it up a bit before they are able to help you. They are always happy to special order an item. BUT, they don't call you when it arrives AND it's about 50/50 whether or not you actually get it when you go to pick it up. I've lost track of how many times I've gone to buy the special order item and while they say it's in stock, they can never find it. read more

They will check all the ID in your party， and if your friend's id is not on the list of their id type，you are not required to purchase AT THE SAME DAY！！！They pointed at me when I'm willing to check！They watched my id very closely which is very very rude！I won't go there anymore！This place is not like Bevmo！Bevmo is a fantastic with fantastic service！And it is close to total wine，try another place. read more

Although they have everything that you could think of, I went in on Sunday and was very mistreated. First of all I was accompanied by an adult, even though I am twenty one to begin with. I understand it is necessary to ID someone who is buying alcohol. But I bought a Dr. Pepper. That's all. I was scolded and told I had to be twenty one to by this item or be in the store at all. I then pulled out my ID, showing I am twenty one. As they stand there yelling twenty one over headsets. I then waited and noticed they didn't ID anyone after me... And the person I was with still purchased alcohol without any issue. Yet I still felt very unwelcome as soon as I walked in till the time I left. read more

The second I walked in a staff member asked me if he could help me find something, and when they didn't have what I was looking for he redirected me to something similar. Disappointing experience today! We love Total Wine and usually go to the one in Gilbert. That store is full of helpful employees who are eager to talk to you about their faves. From the time we walked in the store this morning (I think they had just opened) we felt unwelcome and in the way. We didn't need any assistance as we knew exactly what we wanted, but the employees stocking shelves seemed annoyed by our very presence as we looked around after finding what we came for. Nobody smiled! In line, the cashier named Linda was giving a customer a hard time about her ID (not having the right one ect), but the girl was just buying a soda before her shift at another store. I understand there's a policy but she was icy. The girl walked out because she didn't have time to wait for the manager. Once the manager came and found out the girl left she just rolled her eyes and shrugged. Guess they don't care about their customers ever returning. When it was our turn, before I could open my wallet, Linda said gruffly "IDs, both of you."--like we were high school punks she was about to bust for fake IDs. We are well over 21. A "hello, how are you?" would've been nice. She didn't smile, didn't ask if we found everything ok. Just acted like we were just one big inconvenience. I was very impressed with the service that i received the other day at this store. My girlfriend and i dropped by to get some craft beers and was approached by a man named Mark who started talking to me about football that causally transitioned into wine. I mentioned to him that my girlfriend liked Pinot and he brought me over to their "Old World" section and recommended a great inexpensive bottle. We then were searching for some beer when my lady dropped the bottle on the floor! They were very cool about the whole thing and assured us it happened all the time. Very impressed! read more

My husband and I have been shopping at Total Wine since this location opened. During Our first visit we were really excited to peruse the excellant craft beer selection. We began picking out beers for a mix and match pack, when we were interrupted by an employee and RUDLY Asked for ID. I understand that perhaps i should be complimented by being presumed not yet 21, but in the tone used, i felt more accused than flattered. My husband and I often joke that in order to get hired here you have to prove to be mediocre and unfriendly. The cashiers always leave us with a bad taste in our mouths...luckily we have beer to wash it down with! We must secretely love being mistreated because we continue to frequent this place...at least twice a month. We still have yet to have a good experience here, it's just got such a legit selection, we can't seem to let the poor customer service keep us away.
