Review Update. This location still reigns supreme as my favorite! The parking lot can be chaotic at times; you really have to pay attention from all sides. Other than that, my only gripe with Total Wine is their sometimes inconsistent pricing. I frequent the store enough to notice both increases and reductions of the items I usually purchase. Apparently it happens for no particular reason, but still, I notice. That aside, I am always pleasantly surprised to see how competitive they are to other stores. Giant liquor store, wine, spirits and beer, with Kegs and more available. Great selection, reasonable prices. Staff greeted me and asked what I needed on the way in, seeing as I was looking around, in a very efficient way directed me to where I needed to go. At the whiskey/bourbon/scotch aisle, they had a tasting area set up - three different ones in tiny sips to sample, nice way to try a bunch of ones I hadn't before! They do push the app at the register, but that's ok.. pretty solid experience! The only downside is that coming off Route 22 and back onto Route 22 is a bit of a nightmare... and they're backed by the Walmart parking lot, so be careful. Another great experience at Total Wine was looking for a great bourbon for a Christmas gift. They have such a wide range to choose from. We got a single barrel bourbon in the 60 dollar range. It's great they have a little tag that has information about what you're buying super helpful! Just to let you know this store is super clean and neat and everything is extremely organized. Went here the other day to pick up a bottle of Malbec and a bottle of Casamigos tequila. First thing I noticed were these lowlifes parked at the sampling stations just trying to get a free drunk on. Then after finding bottle of Malbec looked for the Casamigos in the tequila section but it was nowhere to be found. Asked staff and they said you had to request it at register, which I did. Spoke to manager who brought it over and he told me they been having major shoplifting problems. They come in and just walk out with booze knowing that if no cops are around they can get away with it. Casamigos being one of the favorites. Honestly based on what's going on there I think I will shop elsewhere. read more

When ordering online from TW, for store or curbside pickup. The TW portal states "please present valid gov't-issued ID" (which is fine, and standard for showing proof of Age in NJ), however TW has its employees ask to actually scan your drivers license. This is NOT required for a sale in NJ; the customer can, and should, push back. We show the ID without the store entering our personal identity information into their "system" (with a potential exposure to hacking). Its a hassle to have the store manager get involved each time to waive their requirement. Otherwise, TW has fair prices and good selection. read more

Second time this happened! I placed an online order, go to pick it up, and they haven't filled the quantity ordered, so I have to drive to a second retail location. Why NO communication! This time. I get charged for online order, order is filled, I go to pick it up and their "system" is DOWN. I can pay twice and they will refund one of the transactions. How about the transaction went through, you can write it down and enter it into the system as picked up, when and if your system comes back online. Great selection. I ordered a bottle of cream liquor as a gift on 12/9/22 for online delivery to my home. I received a bottle that had expired in December 2021! The person I gifted it to did not realize it was bad and noticed after they drank some of it and it tasted spoiled. The retailer refunded my money but someone could have gotten very sick from drinking a milk product that expired over a year ago. Overpriced inexpensive wines. At the Westbury, NY, location, the staff recommends wines they want to move/sell, rather than wines that meet your needs. Some of the staff can be rather condescending, as well. Plus, the parking lot is a nightmare. After trying the wines that were advised, they weren't close to the ones I was trying to find. When I tried to make a special order, the person kept pushing other wines instead of the one I was attempting to order ... enough. The variety and price on the liquor is better, however, I have found less expensive prices at the liquor stores next to the wholesale clubs. My time and money are too valuable. For me, I'd rather shop for wine and liquor at Stew Leonard's in Farmingdale, NY. They offer better discounts on all products and a more welcoming staff. read more

Store is extremely shady. Called in and they said they had a bottle in stock . Told them I would be there in ten minutes and they said they would hold it . Got there in five Minutes and they say they never had it .... This has happened like 3 times. Even after I stressed to the guy the phone that I didnt want to waste my Time if it wasnt really in stock . Receive the same lame excuse that the computer says it's in stock but it isn't. Either they lie about not having the bottles or they have an extremely junky inventory system. I was there this afternoon shopping for a party. I wanted to get a few bottles of vodka, some seltzers, some summer beers, I had two yeti mugs in my cart, and I was trying to find six bottles of white wine. I had five of them picked out and then I got interrupted twice in the Sauvignon Blanc section by staff with forklifts who couldn't care less about me as a customer. This review is for curbside pickup only. I didn't get a chance to go inside the store since my orders were brought curbside on Fathers Day, where their parking lot was packed and people were entering and leaving the store in droves. The prices were very good and they had the bottle of scotch that everyone was raving about. I ordered the bottle for curbside pickup since I didn't want to drive this far only to be disappointed since this store is a 40 minute drive for me. I pulled into the spot designated for curbside pickup. The I texted the information they posted at the spot. Within a few minutes an associate brought out my order. Checked my ID to make sure it was me and I was over 21. They he gave me my bottles and left. He was very courteous and professional. Total Wine & More is conveniently located on Route 22 East in the same area as Game Stop and right around Walmart. Parking is usually not an issue unless it's a Friday or Saturday night in which case it's verrrrry busy. The good news is the customers are very quickly in and out and you can usually zip right into a parking space before you know it. I've been coming here for years and I must say it's one of the best places to go to, to get your spirits. The aisles are nice and wide - plenty of space! and there's a huge variety to choose from. The employees are extremely helpful. I've literally walked up to them and said "I want sweet...not too sweet, strong in volume and cost-effective but not cheap. The employee will then have me follow him/her to suggest the perfect wine for me. It's happened twice and both times they got it right! The wine that was suggested was so on point! I'm extremely pleased with their variety, their service and their prices. If you're looking for a good spirit store- one that's not your average "hole in the wall, we sell Henney and don't know about anything else" type of place - this is the place for you! read more

Very solid giant liquor store. Huge variety and good prices. Of particular interest to me is the craft beer selection. There are 2 long aisles and some refrigerators of craft beer and 1 long aisle of the major label beers. The craft beers are organized per location in the world. I love that they let you mix and match so you don't have to commit to an entire six pack. The selection is very good and sometimes they get the rare stuff. Talk to the beer manager. Also of particular interest is the scotch selection, which is excellent. They have some varieties that you definitely cannot normally find elsewhere. Almost always they have free wine tastings near the back, too. This is a great spot to get your alcohol for good prices. Best liquor store ever! It's literally like a supermarket but for just liquor. They even have party food like chips, dips, etc. they have AISLES of alcohol it's overwhelming but awesome. They have so many craft beers in 6 packs and sold as single bottles. Also they have quite the variety of gluten free beer. I quickly went through the vodka aisle and noticed they have brands that I've never seen at other stores. And of course every possible flavor ever. Attended the Sip & Mingle event at total wine for grand reserve members. They featured wines from France, Italy & Spain. Most were very good. They also had complimentary assorted meats, cheeses, olives and bread to snack on between tastings. The staff was very informative about the diff regions that these wines came from, I just wish they had seating or a classroom at this location for events like this. Thank Buddha I am aware this place exists. This store is very close to Wine Library in Springfield, about a 10 minute drive. An endless walk, but could be done lol. So tricky, tricky whch one you go to and to for which type of beverage. I have found in my experience when I am purchasing Hard Alcohol you can get better prices on that stuff in a small indie LQ store. These stores rarely carry good selections of wines and awesome beers! I get my beers here if I am in the area and wines @ Wine Library. I have purchased wine here before, not saying I haven't just saying I like what Wine Library offers a lot more. Total Wine has a lot of wines, but if you know your shizz you will also notice that the quality of their product kind of slack. The staff is in now way near as knowledgeable than the folks @ Wine Library. Love the beer selection at Total Wine though. My mom lived in Kenilworth for a long time and I still have family there. Any time I go to Kenilworth and pickup beer here. There is a great park right down the road, Black Brook Park you could stop at as well. If you are careful and quiet, you could get away with bringing a 6 in a cooler and doing a little fishing. read more

Hello! If you are under 30 - 35 years of age, I would recommend NOT shopping at this establishment. I recently visited the store with a younger sibling (because I am a young woman, the sibling offered to accompany me to the store so that I may return home safely). Upon checking out I was told that because I was with someone who was under 21 years of age, that alcohol would not be sold to me. Please note that I am 25 years of age and had identification showing that I am 25 years of age. I decided to test this claim or "store policy." About 20 minutes after I entered the store, one of my parents (about 50 years of age): (1) entered the establishment, (2) stated that me and my sibling were his children, (3) quickly negated that statement, and then (4) continued to the check out line. Surprisingly, the store sold him the alcohol even though he claimed that my sibling was his child and then quickly negated that claim (so there was no clear indication of the relationship between my sibling and my parent). I would also like to note that my sibling was still on the store grounds and obviously the same age as when he or she entered with me. The "rules" of this establishment are inconsistently enforced and discriminate against individuals based on their ages. Again, if you are 30-35 or younger, I would recommend shopping elsewhere. Awesome prices and selection. Aisle after aisle of booze! I hit this place up before hosting company and for holiday gift-giving as they have cuter (smaller) versions of popular spirits. They have a great variety of mix-and-match craft beers including a ton of IPAs then wines galore including malbec, champagne, prosecco, and rioja which I use in sangria.
