Total Wine has been my go-to place for buying wine for years. The selection is huge - whatever I'm in the mood for, they have options across every price range. I like that I can order online for in-store pickup, and the process is quick and hassle-free every time. What I really love is that everything ties back to my account, so I can easily go back and rate the wines I've tried. It makes it so much easier to remember what I liked (and what to avoid) next time I'm shopping. The Vacaville location was an easy stop right off the freeway on my way from Sacramento to the Bay Area. I went to total wine and more to get a last minute Mother's Day gift for my mom! Thankfully, they were open late and I still had plenty of time to shop the evening before. I was surprised at how big of a selection they had of wine and other beverages which were all separated by category. I saw many local winery's in Napa among their wine selection which is cool to see places nearby in store. I came here because I had gone wine tasting at Caymus in Suisun and the employee helping us told us that their wine was sold cheaper at this place so I came to get the Walking Fool for my mom because I had enjoyed it. Kevin, saw me searching for wine and asked if he could help me find anything. He showed me some wine based on things I was looking for and wines that he enjoyed. He also took me to the wine tasting spot and I was able to try 3 different wines which I thought was a cool attribute of this store! I have never had such a negative experience inside a Total Wine & More. Our transaction required a manager approval, to which our cashier called multiple times with no response. After about 5 minutes someone showed up and we were rudely interrogated by the manager, Chris. I could not believe the way we were spoken to. Nice selection of liquor. They don't carry all the same items found in similar stores. However it might be the place for hard to find and rare spirits. Just expect to pay a little more. The place appears spotless. Parking is ample. The location is where the old Saks Fifth Avenue store was. The cashiers seem nice but the manager (I guess) with the nice gray beard not so much. When I moved to Vacaville in 2022, one of the stores I missed dearly was Total Wine. I lived right down the street from one when I lived in Sacramento. I was happy when Total Wine arrived to Vacaville a few months ago. I finally made the trip today! The parking lot had very few cars. Which means, I can grab what I need, and be out with minimal to no wait on line. Yesssss!! I came to grab my favorite wine: Il Dica Imperiale...a beautiful, sweet red wine blend that is great to enjoy alone or with meat + margarita mix/tequila (National Margarita Day is on 2/22!!) The store was huge, had plenty of shopping carts + baskets, huge, clean, and well stocked. The brotha at the register was super pleasant and grabbed a box to store my goodies in! Food- Not sure there is much here more than pub grub. Picked up a pre-order so food didn't really factor in to any decisions. Service- It's a huge place (was an "Off 5th" Saks 5th Ave outlet) and it was large so there is a bunch of space here. Ambience- cold and bright. JUST THE WAY YOU WANT IT. They have a walk-in cooler (probably more than one) which I found on accident. Plenty of Pliny so no one should have to start a tracker website for it. Will need to come back for a tasting or two. Had no idea they have a humidor. Not my thing but good to know it's there. If there is a larger alcoholic beverage order, this is going to be the place for it. Or locate your epic bro artisan swill...you'll have a better chance of finding it here than at most places. read more

Truly a great addition to Vacaville! This Total Wine boasts as the 2nd largest in the network. My guess is at least 25,000 sq ft of libations! It's probably an overstatement to say they carry everything under the sun, but that's not too far off. Selection aside, you can be assured of extremely competitive pricing. One notable example is 1.75 L Titos regular price of $26.42. Wow! There's two tasting areas, one for wine and one for beer with 2 hour blocks throughout the day. A seminar area is also set up at the back for upcoming educational classes on wines. The humidor is a crown jewel in my opinion and probably the biggest in the county. At the very least it has the best selection by far. I'm talking hard to find sticks from EPC, My Father, Padron, Montecristo, Oliva, Rocky Patel, and so much more. The have gift sets ready to go and several accessories to enhance your experience. They offer 10% off box purchases as well. This place is a total vibe!! They have so many selections it's almost overwhelming. I enjoyed walking down each aisle to see what was available. They literally have something for everyone. They have a cigar area, a wine tasting area and an area for classes which is pretty cool. What an amazing experience I had! I met Anthony and Tom in the bourbon section. They were amazingly helpful and kind. I got over to the wine tasting area, which takes place Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Earl, kept a group of us entertained as the pours kept coming. I loved his knowledge of the wines and his welcoming personality. Earl sells the entire store so easily. I look forward to when the wine classes begin in January. Oh, what fun it's going to be. Brianna and Jim rounded out my visit by letting me know about a few more things. This location was highly organized and clean. There was a plethora of employees to help at every turn. Initially I loved this place for their wine selection. However, I'm also a beer drinker and have been highly disappointed on their quality of IPAs. I searched through various brands and several are expired over a year. Some listed BBD 4/2024. Another issue is, although their staff are very friendly, most know NOTHING about alcohol. When they approach and ask if I need help, I feel like I need to explain everything and it's faster if I find the bottle myself. One service gal didn't know what absolut vodka was. SMH. Also when I've done pick up orders, I received the wrong year of wine (ordered online) and had to argue with the front to get me the correct bottle. This is a reoccurrence and It's always a headache. So I definitely won't return here and will head to Bev Mo (across the street) for fresh IPAs. No questions asked, no headaches. read more

This was my first time in this store. This Total Wine and More store took over the old Saks 5th Avenue store across from the Nut Tree. This store is huge and has a great selection of alcohol as well as non-alcoholic drinks. They have a cigar room if you are into cigars. They have some snack food section so you can pick up some snacks with your alcohol. All the employees I encountered were super nice including the lady at the wine bar and the checker. This review is regarding an amazing wine recommendation we received at Total Wine in VV today. For starters, my husband and I have very refined and picky palates. We don't have exceedingly high expectations of pricey wines, but we sure as heck will pay good money for a good quality bottle. So we hunt for small production wines here when we don't feel like going through our stash. Today, we wanted to try something we haven't had before. We gravitated towards a 2016 Taub Family Vineyards Beckstoffer Cabernet Sauvignon. However once we spoke to the associate/wine educator about the AVA we favored, he gave us such a solid recommendation. He has a similar palate and his description of the notes sold us. Needless to say, we went home with both bottles and are currently enjoying this 2015 Alpha Mare Red Blend (the last bottle they had!). We didn't catch his name, but thank you so much! This bottle is everything you said it was. The nose matches the beautiful characteristics you said it would have. It is so balanced and has such complex flavors. I had such a great experience in this place! Well two actually lol! I came in the day after it opened and the staff was extremely friendly! The place is beautiful they did a great job of transforming it into a charming spot to grab some wine! The second time I came in here we had just left dinner and had wanted to grab some wine before heading home - the staff again very friendly... we tasted from a Russian river winery and then headed out to pick up a few bottles of wine. Went in and was looking for some very basic whiskeys but I could not find. The new whiskey person / guy in charge of the area that started 3 months ago was training a young lady in the area. I went out of my way to find someone to help me find Wild Turkey Rare breed. They didn't know whiskey so they radioed him and he was rude and didn't know much. He said Rare breed must be rare and didn't even bother to look up. I also inquired about others whiskeys and once again didn't even bother to look up. Turns out rare breed isn't so rare and it was in stock according to their website. I found it across the highway at store where they actually came up and asked if there was anything they could help me find. First I'd like to say thank you for coming to Vacaville! I've been here about three times since they opened and each time I see something I didn't see from my previous visit. Food- I'm not sure there is much I saw a few options for cheeses and salami near the wine. They have a cigar room if you like that sort of thing, it seems cool.
