Both my sons attended Tots-N-Us throughout their preschool years for FT daycare, as well as summer camp sessions. Overall, I'd rate this place a 3/5 or a "C" on a test. Though the staff is friendly, and they do an above-average job with instruction, the place is extremely expensive and offers no sort of discount for families with multiple children attending or ones who have attended for many years, returning day after day. My son was dismissed from the program with zero conversations with the administration staff. As a parent I worked closely with his teacher to understand how to help advocate for my son through early intervention with speech and OT. His teacher was wonderful and I have nothing but amazing things to say about her. I was a parent who knew my child needed additional services and fought hard for them. Tots only did things like suggest he move to the 3s classroom (when he wasn't close to 3 nor potty trained which a requirement for them). That's setting children up for failure. Again, any conversation was had directly with his teacher never with one person from the administration. I found a new daycare for my son that would be better suited for his needs and let Tots know that I'd be withdrawing him in ~8 weeks. I was met with a response of "well I'm not sure how much you heard but we want your son out of the program much sooner". That was the extent of his dismissal conversation. The main teacher was great. The turnover of the other 2 teachers in his classroom was over 4-6 in less than 2 years. The administration should advertise that they don't accept children who might need additional support. Would never recommend anyone send their child here. 2 stars... If it were just his teacher, she'd get 5. read more

Unfortunately we had a horrible experience here. My son got a new teacher in the toddler room and we were in the midst of being told he needed to be potty trained so he could move to the older 3s room which were kids his age . So, we began potty training and this is when he started to have small tantrums every now and again (as any NORMAL 3 year old does) and that's when my son was being pinned as disruptive and having issues with transitions amongst other things. We were told to come for a meeting with the director and owner where we discussed things we could do to help him. It seemed that we needed to find ways to help him cope, rather than them being a qualified daycare that deals with TODDLERS (babies) and should know how to find ways to redirect him and move on with the day. During this meeting we also got told to try to get a speech evaluation amongst other suggestions. We did everything they asked and more. Instead of getting the help we needed from them, we were now just getting calls every other day to just come get him whenever he was upset. I'd come there and he'd be happy as a clam, but we were just told 'he is inconsolable'. In hindsight, I realize now they were probably just trying to get us to pull him out as most people can't leave work constantly to get their child who is crying. Then as weeks went by and this continued - we had an evaluation scheduled with the school district and they came into the classroom to do it. That day the evaluator called us to tell us it went really well, and he was smart and saw no major red flags. While the very next DAY we were told by tots-n-is that our child was no longer welcome at the daycare and to find somewhere else that better suited him. I was DUMBFOUNDED. My husband even suggested he wasn't being stimulated enough and could we try putting him in a different classroom with kids his age and a different teacher and were immediately shut down. They realistically did not want to work with us to come up with a solution. I believe this is just a business to them and they want the easiest children possible and do not have the best interest of the children at heart. They also clearly do not have qualified people who can handle TODDLERS. Part of me also thinks maybe they didn't want people coming into the class weekly if my son DID qualify for services. If your child is the slightest inconvenience to them... BEWARE. It's also disgusting that these places can leave working parents without any child care. We are lucky enough to have other options while we wait to get into another daycare opening. My suggestion is bring your child elsewhere! read more

PARENTS PLEASE BEWARE OF THE TOT-N-US TODDLER ROOMS!! Hopewell In August I asked this group suggestions on daycare as many do, multiple suggestions came from parents for the daycare program Tots n us in hopewell (which was great and greatly appreciated since it was in the area we need) their were many great reviews as well. I enrolled my child right away in the toddler program and he was assigned to Miss Angela's classroom a young teacher in her early 20s who seemed very polite and friendly at the time. My son who at the same time just started to receive Early Intervention for speech,OT and SI, in the beginning they were coming to our home but for better scheduling decided to have services done there at the Daycare ......this is where oblivious to me that this was going to a big mistake.. on the 1st day his OT arrived Miss Angela reported back to his father at pick up how well my son took to his OT teacher & her herself(Miss Angela) asked questions whether my son therapy was something to do with autism (BIG RED FLAG!) His father just briefly said no no diginose had been made in regards to that but he has a few sensory seeking behaviors we are helping with , I didn't take this to heart at the time because alot of people don't realize just because one needs early intervention doesn't necessarily mean that they are autistic or anything else just delayed I thought it was just an innocent question..fast-forward to last 2 weeks my son it turning 3 and all of a sudden the head of the toddler program Kim is approaching early intervention teachers about his services if my son is a right fit to move into the 3 year class and asking if his services are getting increased ( THEY HAVE NO PERMISSION FROM US TO DISCUSS THIS) we the parents had no idea there was any concern from the Daycare about him moving up it was only when his early intervention teachers reported back how they felt uncomfortable with there approach even after they reiterated my son was more than capable of moving up, that it would be harmful to his development to hold him back. Kim within a day of this interaction than approach his father to ask to set up a private meeting (no information was given in regards to anything very vague) I called Kim the next day to find out what this meeting was about and was told she can't say over the phone immediately alarmed I contacted all of his Early Intervention teachers to ask if there is anything isvgoing on with my son that I'm not aware of that he does that's concerning in the classroom I was told no, but they proceeded to tell me how everytime they show up Miss Angela approaches them with normal toddler behavior that she would like corrected an example (playing humpty Dumpy on a foam toddler chair that's as low to the ground as a dog bed ) my early intervention teachers also than reported that they believe my son is being single out and that Miss Angela keeps using terms like autistic when referring to my son and they have to keep reminding her it is not there job to diagnose but to help with speech or sensory seeking behaviors....after I found this out I called Kim and disclosed that this was inoperative behavior and confirmed a time to meet up and discuss, my sons 1st day back after being off from daycare and we received a phone call from Miss Angela stating my son is spitting please come pick him up, we explained he was playing Raspberries with his father and friends the night before and thats what he was doing, please redirected ( it wasn't hard at all for us to) that our child doesn't even know how to blow let alone spit. I left work early that day now concerned with this teacher and my son being in her classroom, upon pick up I asked her how he was doing with the potable potty lid I had brought in 2 months ago(his father is the one who drops and picks up usually) Miss Angela replied well it's to small for him (it's not!) And they haven't used it, that my child is to fearful of the potty (this is not true I took videos that night and the next few days of him using all 3 of our toliets) ...NOW ALARMED that my child has been neglected of having to us the bathroom for the 9hrs he is there a day and I say neglected what I really want to say abusive because it's of there knowledge that this is what they are suppose to be doing in this classroom that my son is reliving himself in a pull up. I immediately called my 72 year family member to watch him the next day on his birthday because I did not want to send him there (she had no problems with him) unfortunately the day after I had to send him in so he could receive his Early Intervention services and had no other choice since I am an essential worker In the medical field, he would be kept home after this until our meeting with now Kim, Miss Angela and now the site director......on Monday I disclosed all of this information above and ask for my child to be placed in a different classroom because of the neglect, and labeling of my child from a teac read more

I would have rated much higher except I recently found that they publicly post on their Facebook page pictures of students and to my knowledge have no permission to do so. Even if they were to get permission I would be especially concerned with any child care facility that would even consider posting student pictures anywhere on the Internet, private or otherwise. It is without doubt that either the people posting or condoning the posting are either completely unaware of the dangers, are fine with the dangers or are just plain dumber than dirt. Perhaps a combination of all three. I did attempt to contact the school about this and to date they have not responded so I have to believe they do not take opposition to this ridiculous and dangerous act seriously. Perhaps even dumber would be any parent that would allow posting of their children in this manner. People NEED to wake up to the dangers of posting children's pictures online. Clearly everyone's experience is going to be different, but my son is in Miss Natalie's Toddlers room at Tot's N US in Hopewell, and he has grown by leaps and bounds since his arrival roughly 6 months ago. His language skills are tremendous, his attention has increased, his motor skills have increased... past what I thinks developmentally standard. The staff is loving, consistent (which is huge) attentive, and communicative. Their activities are creative and constant. Miss Peggy, Miss Ali, Miss Destiny, Miss Toni, Kim, Cheryll... there's a nurse even! ... all of them... are so loving and generous of spirit... and the place is CLEAN! My child hasn't been sick once since he got there! I honestly feel very lucky to have found them. Again, everyone experience is bound to be different, but I am a huge fan, and for or family, this is a perfect fit. read more

My son attended tots-n-us for an year and a half. My son has a speech delay and they were not helpful and inclusive at all. There were multiple times that he was denied water in a hot day after he didn't communicate his needs. Always a problem at pick-up. Since my son left, no problems with current daycare and a happy child. I think the state needs to check them out. read more

THIS PLACE PROMOTES BULLYING!!! I took my four-year-old daughter here for a month and a half. In that time, she was made fun of, and poked in the face by another boy. We told the teachers and nothing was done. The next week, she was punched in the face and stomach by the same boy. Again, nothing was done. We had to take our child out of the daycare because of this. The director Ms. Tracy is extremely sensitive and soft, and was upset that I sternly told her that bullying is unacceptable, and that her school promotes bullying. They were still willing to allow the boy to interact with my daughter in the yard after she was punched on two occasions, and poked. Then there was victim blaming going around, as the President of the school stated that my daughter should not be near the boy anyway and that they held hands at one point. I'm hoping that this lady doesn't have a daughter, because this is a HORRIBLE message to send. This daycare doesn't care about the safety of your child. If you don't want your kid getting punched in the face unprovoked, you probably shouldn't take them to this mini UFC daycare. read more

My child attends here and I am aware of what is going on, it is wrong and the owner should be aware and take action. I am upset the owner was not made aware of these incidents but at the same time these parents could have made it an effort to make sure that the owner did know and not by the way they did. It is funny to me though not one person is mentioned the parents of the kids that are doing the bullying. They should be shamed just as you are all shaming the school. When I see children acting up or being bad I immediately blame the parents because that's where it begins. So many parents these days leave raising their children to schools and church, when it starts right at home. If you can not raise your child to act right at home how can they act right in public? Parents can not let their children do what they want, they need discipline and guidance and they need it from their parents above all. This facility is a wonderful place, my child absolutely loves the school and all the staff. My wife and I have had our own incidents with our child as well with my child being bullied. We discussed it with staff and were pleased with there responses but it seems in my opinion they need to take it farther. What I mean by that is reach out to all parents and let them know they need to discuss with their children about personal space and keeping their hands to themself. I believe there should be a three strike policy for these kids who are bullies because of their parents failures not of their own. These children are so young and it is not their fault they are acting this way and it is also not the staffs fault either. I do believe it will be the staffs fault if they do not do something about it though. With that being said the parents should be punished into the stress of having to find another daycare/pre-k and having to explain to their child why they can no longer attend this one any longer. I have pretty much read all the comments and I understand the frustration of this girls parents. From my understanding this is going on in one classroom, which is the classroom my child is in and it is not really happening throughout the school. I do not like the negative attention this put on the school how ever and I believe the parents had other options before going to this extreme and I personally think it is wrong to share your child's life with the world when they do not have a say in that, I just wish parents would think before post. My wife and I plan to set up a meeting with the director to discuss what their approaching to bullying is going to be moving forward and offer suggestions. The school needs to act because I know If they do not a parent like myself would get the state involved and even make a great effort to reach the parents of the child doing the bullying because at the end of the day they deserve the most blame and should be ashamed they are raising a child who acts this way. I do not know if the school does discusses the issue of the child doing the bullying with their parents but they need to. I do not know exactly how this situation with these particular incidents turned out and unfortunately this is all one sided and I know when people get to typing sometimes can lose their cool but people need to remember this is one classroom not an entire school. I wish people would state whether their child even attends this school or even if they have children before writing reviews because if neither apply to you why are you speaking, this is why things like this should not be shared with the world. I do not think these parents understand their child who does not have a say deserves privacy and should be protected from this evil world we live in. Let me put it this way now I know, this mom's name, what this mom looks like, where she works, what her child looks like, where she attends school, I can form my opinion of this mom by her photos, and I am not even on any social media websites. Think about it! So again please think before you post, especially pictures of you children. Do not openly give information so many evil people are looking for and protect your children from this world as long as you can. I would still recommend this school to anyone and personally think it is the best daycare/pre-k in our area. Do not be drawn away because of these bad reviews of people who are not even stating if their children attends this school or not. You are all forming opinions of one moms social media post, who in my opinion did not do all she could before shaming this wonderful school and the staff. Tots N Us has become a second home to our daughter. The teachers in the 18 month room have been nurturing, loving, and understanding. I would highly recommend this daycare because of the staff that it employs. They seem to be fully invested in the children that they care for. The children learn songs and stories. My daughter really enjoys the teachers, and often asks to go visit during vacations. I am pleased that we chose this daycare. read more
