First of all, the venue was spectacular (I'll be writing a review of them shortly). We were in a lovely garden setting. The weather was still hot at 5pm. Our group of Marin-ites enjoyed tasty cocktails, a medley of gourmet treats, and lawn games (ping pong, bocce, etc.). But at the nucleus of this whole event was Bar Car - a fully renovated 1965 Airstream trailer which has been converted into a fully-loaded mobile bar. Greg (the owner) parked on the lawn and wow-ed the crowd with his inventive cocktail creations. My friends and I fell in love their tequila-based El Jardin. Very refreshing AND potent! Bar Car is a very clever concept. First and foremost, the vehicle is certainly a conversation piece. But more importantly, Bar Car is a very useful service for your private affair. Because let's face it, it ain't a party unless there's booze. And these guys do it all. They bring the bar; they customize the menu for your needs/budget; they make the drinks; they clean up; and then they drive off. It's a pretty self-contained operation. It's one less thing for you to worry about as you plan/host your party. I can certainly see these guys being a big hit at weddings, corporate functions, and/or house parties.
