Chef Henry and his team delivered an unforgettable experience for our private dinner of 12 celebrating a 40th birthday. The food was *beyond* delicious, and each dish showcased exclusively sourced, high-quality ingredients that took the evening to a whole new level. The Fiscalini cheddar in the shrimp and grits was a standout, the Bloody Butcher Cornbread was rich and so full of flavor (I think we were all considering licking our plates clean), the Roasted Root Vegetable Salad was beautifully balanced (it had the most delicious Thumbelina carrots I've ever tasted), the 24-hour braised oxtails were melt-in-your-mouth tender with the best glaze to it, and the banana pudding with crumbled cookie was the perfect sweet (but not too sweet) finale. For the second time, Chef Henry and his crew created a delicious meal for a special occasion at my home! I highly recommend him for any event, of any size. We had several dietary restrictions in our group he had to work around (gluten, soy, onion, to name a few), and he did a brilliant job without sacrificing any flavor - every person could eat every offering! My only complaint was there were not enough left overs, which is really the best complaint to have with my friends and family. Of special note: the rice cake with wild mushrooms and sesame crusted ahi tuna were truly amazing starters. The New York Strip main was also a giant hit, served with roasted veg and creamy potato. We had a small intimate wedding with just small group of people at the Berkeley Rose Garden last minute and we hired Chef Henry to cater our little happy hour after the ceremony. The food was so amazingly delicious. It was so nice walking up the aisle and walked out straight to Chef Henry food table and start munching. Chef Henry makes delicious food! My partner wanted to do something special for my 40th birthday party a couple years ago, and had Henry come and make some delicious (heavy) appetizers for us and our guests. To give you an idea: chicken and waffle skewers, blue corn bread, korean short ribs, brisket sliders. Everything was incredible. Henry came to our house with the raw materials partially prepared, and finished everything in our kitchen, setting up a beautiful display of food for us all to eat. Two years later, when my partner was also hitting a milestone birthday, we invited him back, and he somehow exceeded our expectations again, along with Rodney, who assisted him (and me, too, as I was setting up for the party). Beyond the food, Henry is just a really kind dude, genuinely loves creating delightful food, and is fun to chat with here and there as he's preparing things. WOW! The caterers were by far and away the BEST part of my wedding, bar none. They were so friendly and inviting, and the quality of the food absolutely blew me away. We requested a Mexican spread: taquitos for appetizers, and for dinner, fresh tamales and a loaded taco bar. Every element was incredible and the guests were raving about it all night. We also ordered a tres leches cake and churros from a different company, and even though it was not their responsibility, they happily cut the cake and churros for us and served everything - the service was totally above and beyond. They arrived on time and were polite, prepared, and professional. Their vibes were immaculate and our guests had fun interacting with them! Since our wedding, my husband and I have spent the last few days gushing about how great they were, lol. I even had my friends texting me about how good everything was. Chef Henry is amazing! He came to my house this weekend and cooked a 5 course dinner paired with wine for 10 people. He developed the menu and I let him run with his ideas because they were excellent. He brought all of his own cookware and plates for our guests which made everything really easy. The food was delicious and was presented beautifully on the plates. His homemade pasta was wonderful, as was his ribeye, and stone fruit salad. He made a delicious homemade strawberry shortcake and it was a perfect way to end a memorable and special dinner party. Due to the pandemic we followed public health guidelines and kept our wedding to only a gathering of 20 and everyone had to test negative, including Chef Henry and his team. We also didn't want a sit down dinner so we asked Chef Henry to help create a series of appetizers paired with wines that would start light and finish heavier to there was plenty of food and folks could mingle for hours without being confined to a table. Here is why we highly recommend you use Chef Henry, whether for a small intimate dinner party or for a much larger wedding event... 1. RESPONSIVE, ATTENTIVE AND 100% RELIABLE: One of our biggest concerns was finding a Chef and Caterer that would perform and deliver as promised. Chef Henry responded to my inquiry within minutes and after a short discussion about what we were looking for he offered us a menu to select from. Then we asked him for some additional custom items we wanted and he totally came through. He listens, asks the right questions, take care of all the little details we didn't even know to ask and then delivered on everything. 2. I had a 80's Prom Night birthday party with my mostly lesbian friends of 35 guests. We're older crowd 40 to 60 yo with a few dietary needs.
