WOW, Skot & Napkins Catering & Event Planning (not to be confused with Napkins restaurant) made my 65th birthday party so amazing & unforgettable! My professional background is hotel management/event planning/catering so I can be a very exacting client. I had decided I wanted to serve heavy hors d'oeuvres so my guests would get enough to eat (because we were going to be drinking & dancing into the evening), but I didn't want a buffet dinner menu. I wanted innovated, new takes on food. Natural, not processed. A foodie experience. I was not disappointed. Skot & his staff DELIVERED AMAZINGLY! When I met with Skot, he listened to my ideas (what a concept), looked at the recipes I wanted to incorporate in my menu, made suggestions and recommendations then explained how it would all work. He offered his opinions and thoughts, which I wanted. (I had met with one caterer who just keep shaking his head 'no', arguing & explaining why I needed to do it HIS way, after all HE was the one with experience. Yes, that went over big.) After hiring Skot, I no longer had to concern myself with my menu or staffing, equipment rental, linens, dishes, glasses, etc. Skot ordered and managed it all after getting my approval of what was going to be used. All deliveries & pickups happened as scheduled. His staff arrived, dressed appropriately, on time with pleasant attitudes and knew what they needed to do. I didn't have to get involved. It was amazing. Skot was there to answer any questions I might have or new information I might need to convey. During the cocktail hour Skot's staff passed a selection of hors d'oeuvres, I'm still hearing about the amazing tomato soup shot glass with grilled cheese sandwich square, which was one of Skot's suggestions. He was so right. It was delicious. After about an hour Skot's staff announced food was available in the dining room. I had ordered flowers and candles, but Napkins was responsible for laying the table & it was beautiful. Small chafing dishes and trays arranged around the table. Skot's staff replenished the food though-out service and continually policed all areas where guests roamed for discarded dishes and glasses. At the end of the evening they packed up all the rented glasses, dishes, linens, flatware, cleaned the items of mine they used, stored any food, emptied garbage & left my home in order. Perfect. My party was at the end of April and I am still getting compliments about it, the food, the staff and how courteous & accommodating they all were, how beautifully the food was presented, but most importantly how delicious & innovated the food was. I will definitely use Napkins again and highly recommend them for any type event you may be planning. They are so professional, which allowed me to enjoy my party and not worry about anything. My daughter and future son-in-law we're married at a winery in Napa. So what can I say... The whole experience was amazing. We were married on 8/31/14 and Skot and his crew were more than I could have ever dreamed of. From the initial meeting with Skot I knew he was the right fit for me. He is very particular and professional but with a laid back approach that I really enjoyed. It was never stressful or disorganized. He always knew what was going on when. He helped me organize my rentals for tables, flatware etc. and even told me I should rent some bar tables that I didn't think I needed, but he was right and they made the space so much more of a wedding space. Day of the wedding. They all got there and got to work. Had everything set up beautifully by the time our guests arrived. The passed appetizers as well as our stationary one were a big hit. (They even set some aside for the groom and I to enjoy!) Dinner: we did a family style meal which can be a pain at a wedding for that many people(115). But it went flawlessly! The food was phenomenal! I am 36 and have been to many weddings. We all know what mass produced food tastes like, and this was NOT that!!!! It was all so good! Better than I ever imagined. Staff: Skot has people that he brings in with him who are all great! Barry: who was the floor manager for our wedding as well as taking care of the groom and I as we ate. The nicest man ever. So professional and very sweet at the same time. The whole experience was just perfect! I did some research and he had the best price for what we wanted. He kept in touch with me regularly and came at our house for a tasting. We loved the food so we went with him. He reviewed my rental order to make sure I had everything we need and proposed some ideas which we accepted and were really happy about it. Everybody gave us good comments for the appetizers. Moreover, we had two entrées so everybody was pleased wit the food. The servers were just so nice with us. They kept some food for us because we went for pictures. Where to begin?! I never write reviews, but Napkins catering was so awesome that I had to l share the wealth! My husband and I used Napkins catering and event planning for our wedding last month. Simply put, everything was amazing. We checked out a few different caterers for our wedding, but as soon as I met Skot and Jeff, the decision was clear. Not only was the food that they prepared for our tasting delicious, it was apparent that they understood what they were doing and how to do it well. I moved to Solano County in December and shortly thereafter got engaged. I was not familiar with any catering services in the surrounding area so I went to YELP and searched for caterers. Napkins catering was one of many that I contacted to discuss food options and costs for our July 2013 wedding.
