Watch out! These people are scam artists! I was walking by and the guy at the door asked if I wanted a foot massage. After looking at the menu, I picked the 60 minute foot massage for $60. I confirmed with the guy that that's what I wanted. He led me to a massage chair where a male masseuse was waiting. He began working on my neck and shoulders (my foot massage place at home always begins with the next and shoulders then move down the arms and then to the feet) so I thought this was part of the massage. Mid-way through a girl sat down and began working on my feet while the guy continued on my shoulders. I wondered why they had two people working on me but thought maybe they just wanted to get people through faster. But at checkout, the lady at the counter charged me $96!! I said no the sign said $60 for a one hour foot massage. She told me that I received a neck and shoulder massage for an additional $36. I said that is NOT what I asked for and I thought that was part of the foot massage. She kept insisting it was $96 for my service. After a huge argument with her, I paid her what I asked for - $60 for a one hour foot massage - and left. So beware! They will get you in for one service but try to sneak in something you didn't ask for and then charge you for it! It's a total racket!! read more

The man who gave me the chair massage had strong hands that had me totally relaxed in 10 minutes. He worked me from my neck to my waist. After 3 straight days of walking around the city, it was definitely time to get a foot massage. I was surprised at how many Chinese spas are around the French Quarter -- We're talking about a dozen within a one-mile radius, according to Google Maps. If you're exploring the area, you'll probably get stopped by one of these employees soliciting you for a massage. I decided to make my way over to Touch Point, since it was so highly rated on Yelp. I had a pretty normal Chinese spa experience. But I will say that the massage area is in one big open area, so don't expect any privacy in your session. They also leave the front door open, so employees can swoop you right in if you've taken the bait. If you're getting a massage during peak hours, you'll likely hear all of the street noise ... people drunkenly yelling and cars honking (Bourbon Street is only two blocks down). You'll also hear their employees standing outside going "Massage?" to people walking by every 30 seconds. The hubbub kind of adds to the New Orleans experience though. My therapist was very sweet and didn't ask for more money after I tipped her 25% (Sometimes, Chinese places will get greedy). She allowed me to pay with a card, but just know you'll be footing the transaction fee as the customer. read more

30 minute foot massage, yes please!! We needed a break from Bourbon Street to relax them barking dogs. This was a gem of a find by my better half. Chairs are comfy, the massage is incredible and the pitter patter of the rain outside was the icing on the cake for the most relaxing 30 minutes of my entire weekend in New Orleans. I thought the same thing as many people here - why are there so many foot massage places? I googled and, based on comments here, as well, I thought this business would be legitimate. Sadly, I went through double scamming. To give credits where credits are due. The staff was super pleasant and caring. The foot massage was good. The body massage - not so much. Although my body was thoughtfully taken care of, with no pain or any extra force applied, I didn't feel so rested or relaxed afterwards. By the end of the day, I felt as if I had no massage, at all (and I had it during the evening hours). Overall, I feel that I was tricked because I didn't feel the expected benefits from a massage. My boyfriend also had the combo deal and shared the same opinion. Our rude awakening in fact happened at the check-out. The cashier pointed out that we can add a tip to the price and asked us how much she should charge my credit card. I clearly said three times how I want to pay the exact price; however, she kept pretending to be clueless and kept pointing at the tip jar. I felt scared because she was acting as if she was about to make a scene in front of other customers and workers, so I added a tip. I don't even know if she liked the tip or not - she made a really weird face in the end. Overall, I give this place a 1 star because of the customer treatment. The massage service itself wasn't that good - I would at least price it much less for what it is. Furthermore, tip shaming is simply unacceptable and it's not a sign of a good business - simple as that. It's really a shame - we really supported their business well by taking their best massage package. The last thing I thought I'd be doing while hanging out in the French Quarter would getting a massage. My feet were absolutely killing me after walking around forever that I did a quick search on the Yelp app, which lead me to Touch Point. I had very low expectations, but it turned out to be a nice distraction and was a great way to kill an hour or two. This is one's average run of the mill Chinese massage parlor. They're slowly finding their way to all parts of the US and certainly the French Quarter is no exception. Most of the masseuses are usually from some part of northern China (in this case, northeast) and the massages themselves are usually relegated to body and feet at affordable prices. An interesting component about Touch Point is that they have a room full of comfy, reclinable chairs instead of lie flat beds / massage tables. People who are really looking to relax in a chair while getting a rub can totally get a chair massage. I did one and passed out. The foot massage was the real winner though. I had some burly man absolutely smother my feet with his bear paws and really dig in to the point where I was screaming in silence. (#1) I was sore initially but felt 1000x better moments after walking the streets. The only thing I'm not particularly crazy about is the fact it's one giant room. This means one can hear the snores, the groans, the farts, etc. and since not everyone is sober (#2), it can get interesting real quick. I've been impressed with staff, they managed to go from a skeleton crew to a full room of masseuses massaging away. No one has to wait too long before being paired up with someone. Lastly, they accept credit cards.
