Standard of care for results of trauma CT is 15 minutes. It has been five days and still no report. The only thing I got out of them was that they thought that I might have cancer on the abdominal CT, then nothing in spite of numerous calls. I had an abdominal CT in 4/24 at the hospital a block away. I told them that they needed to compare the two CTs. They did not think that it was in their job description to do the comparison. With my 5 rib fractures, I had to drive to the hospital, wait for them to burn a CT, take it to Hunt and wait for them to copy. Now, five days later, I am still waiting for results and concerned about the possible cancer diagnosis. The staff was courteous, but the radiologist(s) were lazy and negligent.

They are literally shaking me down for all of my money. "If you have insurance, estimates are based on your current out-of-pocket costs that are provided by your insurance company on the date we verified your benefits. " Fraudulent billing practices cleared by legal chicanery. Notice the that the line item is hospital fees and not actually the billed service.

She also provided me info from QR code which was very helpful. The whole appointment took less than 30 minutes and I was on my way. Appt. time was at approx. 1:30 on a Wednesday. The tech that performed that scan refused to give my mother oral contrast because the scan was ordered STAT and "they don't normally do oral for STAT CT scans." I am a CT Technologist at a large hospital in Dallas and it is common practice to use oral and iv contrast on a base line abdominal scan especially for abdominal pain. This tech jeopardized my mother's diagnosis because she didn't want to take the time to give my mother oral contrast for an hour. If the order's STAT status was an issue, then she should have called the ordering physician to notify a delay and/or have him change the order to urgent. But any tech doing a scan on their own should be aware of how to protocol certain exams based on symptoms and diagnosis. Very subpar service. Hopefully the scan shows enough information to give my mother insight on her intestinal ailments.

It is bringing up a lot of emotion to even write this because of the way I was treated. I came in, nearly being carried by my husband because I could barely walk. When I got to the room, I was bawling, shuddering with tremors, and could barely get a word out, let alone explain what was going on. Instead of listening to my husband, he decides to force me to speak and gets irritated when I can't get much out. The nurse asks me what typically works for me in situations like these because I also suffer from multiple chronic and painful illnesses, so I answered that it just depends. Sometimes a medication will work for certain pain, sometimes it won't, and I didn't know how else to answer. So they ask about Norco. I said no, because I'm already taking that daily for those chronic illnesses, so it's not likely to be effective. The doctor ignores that, gives me 1 Norco, which was no different from what I had already tried before going in. I told him after 20 minutes that nothing changed and he sent in the nurse, who then told me he would give me something for anxiety and to relax. Bitch, I was NOT having anxiety. I was crying from excessive pain and I hope you experience every single BIT of pain I do every single day. You know exactly who you are, Mr. Football is More Important Than the Patients I am PAID to give a shit about. So, we obviously left 'against medical advice' when he refused to even speak to my husband, and he had to practically carry me out in tears again to go start the process OVER again elsewhere, where I got immaculate care. SO, anyone thinking of going here, save your time and money and drive out to Greenville's ER if you have insurance. Trust and believe these people do not care one iota about you. I'm not sure if this is a teaching hospital or what, but no one here on staff seems to know what…read morethey're doing. My father came here because we thought he had sepsis. He had multiple tests done and when we asked what the results where, it's was always "I don't know". One of the nurses asked if I wanted to take a photo of the results so I could know what was on there and I was like "Isn't it your job to explain that to me? I can't understand that". Our nurse was very nice, but she also barely spoke English so there was many misunderstandings about my father's treatment. Everyone is kind, but very clueless. Couldn't help us figure out how to turn the lights on in the room as well.
