The nurses/techs were very nice, and the doctor took me seriously and listened to everything I had to say. Sometimes I have had to wait 15-30 minutes or more because their beds were full, or because they had someone who was sicker than me they needed to see first, or if an ambulance came in, which is totally understandable. This is an emergency room, so whoever is having the most serious situation takes precedence. I would recommend this standalone ER for anyone who is having a medical situation that can't wait to see their family doctor or go to an urgent care (like if you broke a bone or something). But I will say that if you think you are having a stroke or heart problem you would want to try and go to a real hospital, because if you check in here for that sort of thing, they will stabilize you and all, but then immediately call an ambulance to transport you to an actual hospital with a cath lab like Lakepointe. I know because that happened to my friend's mom, and she got taken care of and is fine now, but she did get a bill for the ambulance ride, when if she had just gone to the regular hospital ER instead, she wouldn't have had to be transported. But if it's a life or death situation, then you can definitely go here because, I mean, it is an emergency room after all and they'll make sure you stay alive. Anyway, definitely recommend this standalone ER.

It is bringing up a lot of emotion to even write this because of the way I was treated. I came in, nearly being carried by my husband because I could barely walk. When I got to the room, I was bawling, shuddering with tremors, and could barely get a word out, let alone explain what was going on. Instead of listening to my husband, he decides to force me to speak and gets irritated when I can't get much out. The nurse asks me what typically works for me in situations like these because I also suffer from multiple chronic and painful illnesses, so I answered that it just depends. Sometimes a medication will work for certain pain, sometimes it won't, and I didn't know how else to answer. So they ask about Norco. I said no, because I'm already taking that daily for those chronic illnesses, so it's not likely to be effective. The doctor ignores that, gives me 1 Norco, which was no different from what I had already tried before going in. I told him after 20 minutes that nothing changed and he sent in the nurse, who then told me he would give me something for anxiety and to relax. Bitch, I was NOT having anxiety. I was crying from excessive pain and I hope you experience every single BIT of pain I do every single day. You know exactly who you are, Mr. Football is More Important Than the Patients I am PAID to give a shit about. So, we obviously left 'against medical advice' when he refused to even speak to my husband, and he had to practically carry me out in tears again to go start the process OVER again elsewhere, where I got immaculate care. SO, anyone thinking of going here, save your time and money and drive out to Greenville's ER if you have insurance. Trust and believe these people do not care one iota about you. You should absolutely fire the useless doctor you've got up there. Seems like maybe the little tyke would have preferred to be in the NFL. He should have availability to watch it 24/7 because he's the worst doctor I've ever been to, which is saying a whole hell of a lot with my medical history. I will never come here again and I actively tell everyone I can to avoid it at all costs. I hope you get shut down. You deserve it, especially after reading these other reviews. Genuinely, seek a different career. You suck at this one. Thanks!

She never for once made a statement that showed she believed anything I complained about. She kept insinuating that it was in my head and the employees did not engage in unprofessional behaviors. I told her that if she does not have camera with sound on it then she cannot verify if what I am saying is wrong. She was not there and did not go through what I went through. I have never felt so uncomfortable before in my life and I did not deserve to be mocked and made fun of. All I did was come in for mammogram and was humiliated and used for amusement. Instead of staff working they were preoccupied with socializing and fraternizing. This is unacceptable and management should worry about retraining their staff and maybe employing more professional ones. Instead they don't feel their staff is wrong in anyway and think the customer is the problem! I was not happy with the conversation that Nora had with me and as a manager she is not going to do anything to rectify the situation. Instead she called to offer an insincere apology and told me that she is sorry I felt that way I did. Do better! Pls. Unacceptable!

Excellent service. Had written orders for MRI, delivered and they got approval and did it same day…read more 5star

We were in a bad accident Friday night and the ambulance took my granddaughter and her boyfriend to…read moreLakepointe which is now Baylor Scott and White. My husband and I followed in a Rowlett police car. I have read some not so good reviews about this hospital but they were so kind and supportive with our kids. They were very attentive and went out of their way to make the children feel comfortable. Everyone was checked out thoroughly and we were all able to all go home with bruises and abrasions but we are all ok. Everyone from the receptionist in the ER lobby to the nurses and Doctors who were on duty that night were awesome! Shout out to the EMT's, Rowlett police and to the other emergency services that showed up that night to help us, thank you! You were all so nice, helpful and supportive.

While there were a few nurses who were genuinely kind, attentive, and made me feel comfortable…read moreduring recovery, the guidance and support surrounding my baby's feeding -- one of the most critical parts of newborn care -- were completely inadequate and filled with misinformation. Immediately after birth, my baby showed no interest in feeding. I was told by multiple nurses that this was "normal" and that babies born via C-section often have amniotic fluid in their stomachs that keeps them "full." I asked repeatedly if it was normal for him to go so long without eating and whether I should begin pumping to stimulate my milk supply. Each time, I was brushed off and told to "just keep doing skin-to-skin." I was never offered a hospital-grade breast pump or given any meaningful guidance on how to ensure my baby was getting the nutrition he needed. For over six hours, my baby barely ate. When he finally did, it was only for a few minutes and extremely painful. I continued to express concern about how long he was going between feedings, but every nurse I asked insisted this was fine. I was told his stomach could only hold "a teaspoon" at a time -- a statement that I now know is completely false. Not one person took the time to properly assess the situation or explain what steps I could take to encourage feeding and support my milk production. What makes this worse is that even the lactation nurse, whose specific role is to assist with breastfeeding and milk supply, did absolutely nothing to help me. She did not attempt to guide me through a feeding, observe a latch, offer techniques, or explain how to stimulate milk production when the baby wasn't eating. I was left to figure it out alone, in pain, and increasingly anxious about my baby's lack of interest in feeding. By discharge, my baby had fed poorly the entire hospital stay, and I continued to experience significant pain during feedings. I specifically asked the discharge nurse to check for a tongue tie because of the pain and shallow latch. She looked briefly and said there wasn't one. The very next day, my pediatrician immediately identified a tongue tie and was shocked it had been missed. A pediatric dentist later confirmed my baby had a stage 3 tongue tie and a top lip tie, both of which were severely restricting his ability to latch and feed. At that first pediatrician visit, I also learned my baby had lost 14 ounces from his birth weight over the 3 days since delivery -- an alarming and preventable amount of weight loss. The pediatrician explained that newborns should be eating every 2-3 hours and can typically hold about an ounce per feeding, not a teaspoon as your staff claimed. Because of this misinformation and lack of early intervention, we are now having to breastfeed every two hours, supplement with formula, and pump constantly to rebuild my milk supply and help my baby regain weight. This experience has left me angry, heartbroken, and deeply disappointed. I trusted the hospital staff to guide me -- especially as a first-time mother recovering from major surgery -- and instead, I was given inaccurate information, dismissed when I voiced legitimate concerns, and denied the help that could have prevented my baby's early feeding struggles. The repeated misinformation, lack of urgency, and failure to provide basic lactation support were unacceptable and potentially harmful. I am requesting that this incident be formally reviewed and that action be taken to ensure this does not happen to another mother and baby. Staff should be retrained on newborn feeding protocols, early milk stimulation, and the identification of oral ties that can seriously impact feeding. The role of lactation support also needs to be evaluated, as the lack of assistance I received from the designated lactation nurse was inexcusable.
