I moved into an apartment on the second floor. Everything went as smoothly as possible with the weather. They were polite, courteous and organized. Overall a positive experience with the recent move - they're the most reasonably priced in Indianapolis and did a nice job loading and unloading all the items. The only reason for 4 stars is that they came with a truck that didn't have a liftgate while I communicated in advanced that an upright piano would need to be moved. It's not safe to move a piano by hand and roll it into the truck (for movers and the piano), so I'd have preferred if they used a liftgate instead. read more

I needed to move in-city very last minute and hollered at the guys (and gals!) at Tough Guys. They came and packed the rest of my house up, moved my stuff into a storage unit and into my new apartment the DAY AFTER I got in contact and were prompt and fantastic. How can I give them no stars at all? i confirmed 2 days prior to my move and it was all good. An hour before my scheduled move, I received a message on here- no phone call, no text message, no email- just a message stating they were canceling my move and could not reschedule. So unprofessional!! I was prepped and waiting around for them to show up. This app doesn't ding my phone for notifications, I assumed they would have contacted me via phone call/message. This is a lousy excuse for a moving company! Don't waste your time or energy considering this company, move on! I'm still waiting on my refund for my deposit. Very accomodating, straight forward, easy to work with. I had to change my moving date few times and they were so kind in adjusting to my needs. They did not try to make more money, rather gave me what I needed. They also moved my stuff pretty quick and were very careful with my belongings. Be careful hiring this company. If you have any items that are valuable and they damage it, the owner Chris will not cover your loss. We hired them to move a couch, loveseat, dresser and gun safe. The gun safe was described (weight and measurements), so he would know what his crew would be dealing with. His quote stated 3 guys, but only 2 guys showed up. They dropped the gun safe and damaged it beyond repair (confirmed by a dealer for the safe company). The safe cost $1200 and Chris said we would need to contact Yelp first. We did and Yelp was willing to give us $476 for the damage. When I reached out to Chris for the balance, he said we did not opt for the additional insurance coverage. Well he never mentioned anything about maybe needing additional insurance coverage for the job. He admitted that his crew damaged the safe, but is not willing to pay for the damages. So be very cautious if you are considering his service. FYI- there is no legal address for this business and he will not provide one when asked. Pretty sure he operates out of his house/car. Not a very reputable person. And don't believe his BS about how they value their customers. Other than that, the move was completed. I would only use his company if you are moving low value items, because if they destroy them, you won't feel any significant monetary loss. Oh, one other point, the company was opened under a false owner name. That way he can shield the actual ownership. There are ways to identify the actual owner, but it takes a litter knowledge. read more

I had to change my review because at first this company I thought was a legitimate good one turns out I spoke too soon. they absolutely put me in the worst position I could ever be in my life to where i almost lost all my possessions and would have lost everything had it not been for the person that bought my house being the sweetest person in the world. first off they keep reassuring me that they're going to get my move done by midnight cuz I stated millions of times I needed it done by midnight. they reassured me a bunch of times and then they said they'd be here between 3:00 and 5:00 p.m. they didn't show up until between 6:30 or 7:00. they sent three guys that at first seemed nice and started moving to big things upstairs and disassembling it and then 6 hours later hardly anything was done they didn't do their job! they grabbed all the little stuff so they wouldn't have to do the big stuff. The movers tried to get me to hire them outside of the company and said they'd give me cheaper rates and stuff and then turned around and told their boss that I was trying to bribe them and try to get them to you help me outside of the company which was a bold-faced lie and thankfully I had to proof through text messages. I'm going to post pictures on exactly what these people put me through. we were charged almost $2,000 for 8 hours and they didn't hardly do anything at all they didn't get any of the stuff that I asked them to get originally besides the bedroom upstairs that's it. on top of that they kept grabbing couches no cushions China cabinets just the bottom part not the top they weren't grabbing complete sets of things at all. it is now been almost a week and I still don't have all of my stuff because of these people hiring U-Hauls trying to hire more movers trying to get as many friends together as I can to help having stay at an Airbnb so that cost me money. this was the absolute worst experience of my life at the darkest time of my life which is unfortunate because I really needed a light at the end of the tunnel and these people did not provide that for me. I hope nobody hires these people and goes through what i went through. not only that I thought the communication was going well until I was hearing one thing from the movers and another thing from dispatch. and dispatch lied to me and said that the guy had a job to go to right after my job so he had to leave Even though I just told them that they did not finish their job that they were hired for at all they didn't even get half of it done. and it turns out that that was a lie too. they just wanted to leave because they didn't want to do their job. I know this because one of the workers actually told me that the guy didn't have a job after that that he just refused to do his job and straight told him to get his own U-Haul if he wants to help me but he wasn't helping me and they were leaving. I was so kind to them I even bought them a whole pizza and fed them because they said they hadn't eaten. it's people like this that disgust me just pure crooks. and then whenever I ask for help to finish the job because they didn't do their job and sent the company proof that they didn't do their job they stated that I didn't send them pictures of proof although I did and then said they can't extend their services at this time because I couldn't provide more pictures because obviously I had to be out of the house by midnight like I had stated before to them.... it's like they ignored the urgency of my situation and did not care about me (their customer) AT ALL! pathetic excuse for a company. no reprocusions to the workers worker for lying about their customer multiple times and making my big move a depressing and dark experience. Also these movers had the nerve to go to a broken window that could not open because it being broken and forced it open without asking me or getting my permission and then didn't tell me that they left it open and didn't even try to close it just left it that way in the middle of winter with no screen on it. what kind of bullshit is this? pictures with captions for all of it to show what I'm talking about this is the most honest review you will ever see. read more

I would not recommend Tough Guys for your move. There are a few reasons why I'd say this: 1. Movers didn't arrive on time: communicated just a few minutes before the move that they would be late. They were 90 minutes late. 2. Damage to the goods: movers didn't handle my stuff carefully. As I am opening more and more boxes, I have been finding damaged goods inside. This is my 6th move in 5 years and I have been packing stuff very carefully each time. And damage just happened this time. So really bad handling of goods. If you care about your stuff, please stay away from Tough Guys. 3. Total duration: committed 4 hours, ended up in consuming 7+. Tough Guys will not get on a video call with you to confirm the amount of material you need to move. So their quotation is based on per hour rate and they quote less time initially to make the overall quote look better but in the end, their movers deliberately waste time to ensure you pay more. 4. Time wasting: movers waste the time chitchatting and calling their manager multiple times during the move and just don't get to the business quick. Overall I was pretty disappointed with this service and would not recommend anybody to go with them. If you don't bother about your stuff getting broken/damaged, you're fine with hiring Tough Guys. read more

DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM. They are EXTREMELY unprofessional. They arrived an hour late with no prior warning. They were scheduled to be here at 10am today,I called the owner Chris at 10:13am asking when they'd be arriving and he said that usually the movers will contact you 30 mins before their arrival time to let you know they're on their way. At 10:18am Michael texts me and says they're running late and will arrive at 10:45-10:55am,they arrived at 10:52am. It took them one hour to put everything in their truck. The man with Michael went to use the restroom so I gave Michael the coordinates to the storage unit. The other guy came out after about 10 and it took them another 10 minutes to leave because they were smoking a joint. The storage unit was about 45 minutes away and on the way there Michael text me and says they're going to go eat. So I had to wait at the storage unit for THIRTY MINUTES while they took a break in the middle of the job. And then they charged me for an extra hour. So if you are looking for a professional service do not add tough guys to your list. Reimbursement does not bar a negative review of a bad experience. They did in fact charge me for an extra hour AND THEN reimbursed the hour. read more

They got things done fast, and I was ready to leave a great review. Unfortunately, one of the movers came back demanding more payment because of a "two hour minimum." However, our signed contract did not cite a two hour minimum. It said $105 for one hour with $25 driving fee...(see contract attached). Ended up paying $230 in total for 40 minutes of work. The guy said it was a typo mistake on the company's end, but we had a signed agreement following a verbal phone call discussing the quote. This company's signed contract and word are as good as snake oil. read more

After checking around decided on Tough Guys mostly based on lower price and availability. I needed one item, a large very heavy 500 pound commercial freezer, moved to another location. Although the move was delayed a bit I wasn't in a hurry so worked out fine. All communication as well as their availability was quick. On the move day Christopher and another gentleman were able to complete the move timely and professionally. Both were very friendly and polite and were careful with the item.
