After researching Indy Movers, the trucks are not listed on the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration website which is a big red flag. I reported Indy Movers to this Administration. I also have reported the company to The IN Attorney General's Office and their investigation is pending. I have unsuccessfully tried to get my money back. I had to call Thomas Carter 3 times and email several times and send text messages to get a break down of the $4365 charge. I received no inventory list from him after he went through my apartment. There was no written contract provided. All red flags. When he did finally send the break down of charges, he said the remaining $4365 was due that day which was 25 days before the move was scheduled. Red flag. After finally coming to my senses, I realized this was a shady company and would not allow them to move me. Also, if you look on the Indy Movers website when you google Indianapolis movers - a completely different website than if you google Indy Movers comes up - there is a picture of a professional looking white moving truck. That truck picture was found on a legitimate movers website which means to me Indy Movers photo shopped that picture. He said he would be using a U-Haul truck to move me. He owns a U-Haul business and the U-Haul address is what is on his business card. The Indy Movers website, when you google Indy Movers, shows an address of 9020 Pendleton Pike, Indianapolis, IN 46236 which he doesn't even own or go to. Very deceptive business and business owner. This experience has been a nightmare not to mention that it caused a real financial strain on me to lose that money and then have to pay a reputable company that I went with. Hopefully with the help of the Attorney General's office I will get my money back.

The bins were clean when they arrived, and the provided labels made packing easy. We used the 3-bedroom package, which came with 55 bins, which was plenty for us. It also saved us from having to go out into the stores during the Covid-19 lockdown, buying cardboard, taping, disposal etc. The bins come with a dolly that makes it easier to move through doorways. The only downside to the sturdy bins is that it's pretty easy to pack them with too much stuff, and they will become heavy quickly! The bins were able to be stacked up floor to ceiling in the moving truck, which saved us tons of space. If we ever move again, I'd definitely use Bin It Indy.

We hired Soft Touch Moving in June 2025 to pack, move, and store our belongings in their…read more"climate-controlled" facility for four months while our new home was being built. About 4 hours into the re-delivery of our belongings by their crew, we discovered that much of our furniture and personal property which had already brought into our new home appeared to be covered in mold. The contamination affected our brand-new home and required professional remediation. As a result, we were displaced and forced to live in a hotel for 50 nights while the issue was addressed. The owner, John Craft, acknowledged to us that our belongings had gotten wet and remained on their moving trucks for a period of time during the hot and humid month of June. Despite assurances from the company's insurance carrier, we have received very little communication or resolution. More than seven months later, we still do not have our belongings and have had to retain legal counsel to pursue claims against both Soft Touch Moving and the insurance company. This experience has been incredibly disruptive to our lives. Based on our experience, we would strongly caution others before trusting this company with their belongings.

They charged us an extra $100 dollars because they said that the 3 hour window counts for 30 minutes of travel, yet we still completed the entire move within 3 hours with my help and multiple breaks by them.

They also moved items to different piles in the apartment, then more piles outside of the apartment door to the hall, then to the elevator and then took things down. Not to mention they took a 30 minute lunch break that I was also billed for at the end of the day. Also in the process of moving, several things were damaged. This included several big furniture items, dishes that were in boxes that had caved in from having several other boxes stacked on top of them even though the boxes were very clearly labeled fragile on top, and worst of all, there were several scrapes on the walls of my brand new house that had just finished being built two weeks prior. The worst of which is the tire marks going up the side of my stairs from where they tried to drag the dolly up the them. My original estimate for this move that they gave me, based on the number of rooms and furniture items that I had, was for $450 and that I would need the minimum number of hours they require for any move of 3 hours. I know this was just an estimate, but when I got the actual bill at the end of it, it was almost $1200 plus the $100 security deposit which is nearly 3 times the amount I was quoted, which is a ridiculous amount to be off by. I had the same number of items moved last year in 2.5 hours with no damages and the same amount of people the year before when I moved into my apartment. The customer service rep was unsurprisingly very unhelpful and did not seem to care much about any of the things that went wrong during this move. So due to the poor quality of the moving experience, I now have wasted several hours getting the information for the claims, repairing and buying new items, and getting my brand new staircase repainted. We paid a very large amount for this service and also paid extra for their insurance coverage specifically to protect our valuables. During the packing process, they broke several items worth thousands of dollars. When we filed a claim, instead of taking responsibility or honoring the insurance we paid for, the owner was rude, dismissive, and outright hostile. We were essentially told "too bad, you should've packed it yourself," and "if you didn't want it broken, you shouldn't have hired us." That is completely unacceptable, especially from a business that charges for professional packing and insurance. Not only did they fail to protect our belongings, but they also refused to fairly address the damage and spoke to us in a shockingly unprofessional and offensive way. We trusted them during an already stressful time after a flood, and they made the situation much worse. I strongly warn others: do not use this company if you care about your property or expect basic professionalism and accountability. Paying extra for their insurance meant nothing, and the way we were treated afterward was insulting and outrageous.
