Mike called me in advance to talk about what kind of day we wanted to have, what we like to drink and if we had any special ideas in mind. He had a great working knowledge of: which breweries had the best views; who had what kinds of products; what sort of food was served where; who had live music or special events and so on! He seemed happy to accommodate any requests we had in designing the tour, but was equally capable of crafting a great day with no help from me. It was nice to feel like I could be as much or as little a part of those choices as I wanted and know it would still be a great day. Our tour was also with Mike - who was on time, communicative, friendly, a good driver and an overall great guide. We had a wonderful day full of fantastic beer, some tasty cider, great food and good music. I would absolutely use Hudson Valley Beer Tours again in the future!

Geoff ended up running our tour and was so nice and patient. We are a bit, um, loud sometimes but Geoff made sure to get the best angles with every group picture and even picked up our untimely food order so we wouldn't miss the last tasting. He was also extremely knowledgeable about local wine! **THE EXPERIENCE** It was a gorgeous fall Saturday. I highly recommend taking this trip in October, as the foliage was breathtaking. Milea Vineyard, our first stop, felt like a mansion, and the tasting room was sunlit and gorgeous. Clinton Vineyards was more of a country farmhouse, and our group had a private tasting with the owner, Phyllis, who is a super interesting woman. The last, Milbrook, was a bit busy, but the property has a cute lake and food, and before the tasting, you can check out the vineyard and store. Again HIGHLY recommended! Especially for a bachelorette party, birthday, or girls weekend getaway!

Despite my best efforts in the past to do Fall train rides, which turned out to be disappointing only because there was never any good colors on trees, this by far is the very best fall foliage experience I've ever had in my life. You get great views of the tree color transitions and just great photo opportunities. It does get cold on the water so bring a jacket. Experience is as excellent as last time with beverages and snacks for purchase. If you enjoy fall colors, great scenery and boats then you have to do this at least once.

I think this is an awesome distillery and I can see it being even more fun in warmer weather! This place is know for whiskey and rye. It's cool because they do sampler in a little vile glass which I think is creative. Their cocktails were also super delicious! The service was great! It's seems that they definitely have regular customers that come in. It's not too big of a spot but there was a lot of seating both tables and around the bar.

Update Sept 10, 2020:…read more I've taken off 2 stars to reflect a lack of communication from the company to clear up an issue. I've emailed both email addresses and called multiple times. No reply/answer. So the package of pre-season tours I bought cost $120. It was for two 2- person tours, with an regular value of $240. First, the coupon code generated never worked. I had to call and email to get them to confirm that I actually got booked for the tours I wanted. Thankfully, they got back via email fairly quickly. But, I also realized that the prices online were $25-30 per tour per person for their regular tours. So, my preseason coupons were actually MORE expensive than had I just booked it regularly online. Technically, after two tours x 2 people I would still have at least $10 left on the account. Or do I still have $130 left since regular value was $240?? If they made a mistake with their promotion, fine. I just wanted an explanation. I'm not looking to get more than the original 4 spots out of that coupon. However, after multiple emails and calls. I still haven't gotten answer. That's just not professional. And I'm also not looking to get back the $10 that may still be on the account. We had a great time. And I left the tour guides a generous tip each time. The company needs to look into their promotions and make sure their customers are getting what they're paying for. And, it needs to answer emails. I can understand being understaffed, esp during Covid, and being unable to answer your phone all the times. But, emails...no answer for 2 weeks now. Inexcusable.

Parking at the Macks Lane end can be challenging depending on the time of day, with a couple of spots and enough room to park on the side. There's enough room while getting out, and plenty of space to move around while getting to the trail. At the Johnson-Iorio Memorial Park end, there are plenty of spots to park at. Depending on your direction, the trail has an uphill/downhill gradient along the way. It's a workout for sure when going uphill. It's very easy to trip with so many rocks and tree roots on the ground, so please take caution. The trail is well indicated by its color and is shown on the tree barks hung up. Of course, the maps are provided at each trailhead for convenience. UPDATE: The white trail which I recently took is a cool trail, doing a loop that connects with the yellow in a different spot not too far from that starting point. It is steep in this section, which requires small steps along the way. There is also a shortcut to cut over to the other side to make it shorter (don't recommend it). Also, on the way, there are ruins, which were once a big Mansion that was abandoned in 1949, with unknown information on how it got destroyed. Pretty cool history. When in doubt, take a rest, it's needed.

This free park/ estate has many…read moreinteresting attractions including a villa you can tour, miles of walking paths, gardens and an event venue. When we arrived on a gloomy Saturday there was only one car in the parking lot. We were not sure it was even open but it was. The staff member was very friendly. I had no idea of the history of this place and its connection to the famous inventor Samuel Morse. I wish we lived closer so I could spend more time in this area exploring the history of places like Locust Grove.
