I've lived here for almost a year and this has to be the worst experience living in an apartment building ever, the building on the inside is disgusting and the elevators are always stinky and have trash on the floor. half of the time the elevators don't work and it gets super annoying especially with groceries. On the topic of things being out of order ; the washing machines that they supply are always out of order or steal money from the prepaid card they give you. The doors to the entrance are always cracked or damaged as well as the gates to the parking lot.The water is always being shut off at least once a week because instead of investing into these issues they invest there money onto a flower painted on the entrance of the building. It was embarrassing bringing people over when it's always a mess around the building. The pictures on the listing are deceiving, there's a reason there are pretty much no pictures of the inside of the building because it's a mess and it looks like a run down motel. I'm surprised i haven't seen any rodents considering how filthy it is. I wouldn't recommend anyone to live here as you can get a way nicer apartment somewhere else for like 100 bucks more each month. Do NOT be deceived when you come in to look at a unit- I was promised a remodeled apartment with stainless steel appliances and what I got was a rickety little kitchen with a crooked oven unit. The AC doesn't work at all, and I've seen numerous tenants with wall units hanging out of their window for that very fact. This place is disgusting- there is constantly vomit, urine, and mounds of cigarette butts in the elevators and it smells SO BAD. There is trash everywhere, and they're trash valet comes to collect late in the night, being extremely loud. Every time I take my dog to the "dog park" located in the back parking lot there is feces literally EVERYWHERE- no one cleans up after their dogs. The tenants are loud and disrespectful, and management doesn't seem to care less about the state of this complex. I'm embarrassed to have visitors. I've heard nothing but horror stories about this place, and now I see why. read more

Management here is a joke. Nothing ever works. Hot water, elevators, so called "gated parking". Mailroom has broken into mailboxes that they are "replacing". Not a good place to live with pets. At all. The dog run is always covered in poop left by inconsiderate jerks...and the complex people (Even the ON SITE maintenance guy (who have a dog themselves) won't pick up the poop. they fail to give a real 24 hour notice of entry to your apartment, so the safety of your dogs is actually brought into question, when you don't know if these people will just send exterminators with keys into your unit WHILE YOURE SLEEPING IN THE NUDE! Save yourself. Look at the google reviews. They paint a pretty accurate picture. EDIT #1: I have been here for 10 months, and have had THREE "semi annual inspections" to "check the air filters and smoke detectors" in the last AMC owned and operated place I lived, they did ONE inpesction a year... it was the only time they ever stepped foot in my unit unless I asked for maintenance done. This place will say "it's semi annual time" even though they said that 2 months ago. These people are predatory, and retaliatory. Had to call the health department to address the literal HUNDREDS of dog shit piles around the facilities... told the manager I did that and NEXT MORNING BEOFRE 9 AM EVERY POOP IS CLEANED. You shouldn't have to threaten legal action for them to even pretend to care about your dogs... they need to learn to stay out of peoples units because it just pisses off their residents. read more

I have lived here since 2015 when it was called The Terrace, then it was The Argyle and now Towers On Main...many names, property management groups, employee's throughout this time...There have been good times & bad, ups & downs, but this building was built in 1961 & has her issues, but I am hopeful AMC will be the turning point we have been waiting for..Alliance, Allresco and the previous made many mistakes that AMC is now trying to clean up..I love the neighbors, the open courtyard atmosphere and the eclectic building minus some of the old parts that will hopefully be up graded. Residents past and current have been promised many things to never have them come through, but I feel AMC has a game plan to right the wrongs of the past when the ball was dropped..The current staff in management, security, maintenance, etc has been fast to respond to requests and helpful and listen...There is too much to squeeze in from the past 3 years, but in conclusion I feel positive changes are coming...I look forward t seeing the good overshadow the bad of the past read more

Some would say I'm crazy for giving such a high mark to this complex, but having lived here for 18+ years, my story is different! Let's start with the positives: location, location! Near to two Trax stations and a fire station 5 blocks away make the Towers on Main a good place to live! Penny Ann's Cafe is downstairs and worthy of Best in Salt Lake recognition! The newest and brightest star added to the list is Property Manager Victoria Green ! She is a no nonsense, but extremely talented person, that has made this apartment complex better than it was when I first moved in! She is fearless in her pursuit to make the Towers-on- Main, the best and most affordable place to live! Amenities include, Pet-friendly, Clubhouse, fitness center, pool, and BBQ facilities, key-card access, and a gated parking area! read more

I don't know where to begin with this place. My boyfriend and I moved in several months ago, our first apartment was one of the 17 that got fully flooded. Our belongings (along with others) were ruined, there were literally holes in the walls from water coming through it, water coming down the other walls and raining from the ceiling. Our neighbor's ceiling came down on them in their bed. Management said it was OUR responsibility and we were to call our own insurance companies to settle our damaged property. This was THEIR fault, because it was THEIR property's pipes that broke and flooded the apartments. The only time it's not a property management/landlord's responsibility is when it's pipes underground (city pipes) or from a natural disaster... this situation was NEITHER of those things. They gave us an ultimatum to either move out, paying for 2 months of rent plus an additional $1500 (so the total was $3000) or move to another apartment in the complex. We moved to another one, our toilet didn't work for a WEEK and only when I started to make a huge stink about it by serving them with legal documents did they take action to fix it. The dog park area is always full of feces, it stunk really bad in the summer, the cops were literally always at our complex I'm pretty sure management had to give them a key to be able to get in whenever they needed to due to how frequently they're present there. People are definitely on hard drugs who walk around and try talking to you. There are a lot of retried vets there who are super sweet, but there are a few who have severe mental issues and shouldn't be living on their own because they are endangering themselves and others. There is literally no AC, I promise you this. It doesn't work and the management's suggestion was to buy our own AC's and fans. Wow. Thanks for dumping so much money into the cosmetic parts (like the coverings by the bbq pits, bbq pits, the clubhouse that has central air SMDH, the parking lot). Why aren't you all fixing all of the countless problems with EVERY SINGLE apartment unit? There is always water damage present in all of the apartments, because they're so old and they aren't being repaired correctly, yes they all have mold and there are MULTIPLE cases open against this place with the health department! People also have a lot of problems with cockroaches and bedbugs here, so that's a sweet bonus. The washer/dryer machines don't work, you'll be lucky if there's three of them working or even half. Plus the laundry room is absolutely disgusting and there's always flooding on the floor on the south side right outside the laundry room door in the hall by the elevator. One of the elevators was basically permanently broken also, so there's only two functioning elevators (one of them gets broken by kids constantly). My car got ran into the first day I lived there, other people's cars get hit too, I talked to other tenants who's cars were broken into. I've seen people getting physically assaulted there, the pool filter doesn't work please don't even swim in it, your rent is always a different price every month it doesn't make any sense at all. Their inspections are a joke, they say it's to check the air filters and smoke detectors or whatever. Um, what air filter? we didn't have one in either unit and our neighbor's unit had a MOLDY one in their duct! They have photos to prove it. I also have neighbors who are dealing with black mold as we speak and are stuck in their lease with this place. I could seriously go on and on and on about how terrible this place truly was to live at. Thankfully, I was able to have a real conversation with the manager at the time and she was gracious enough to let us out of the lease without penalty, and I truly appreciate what she did, this doesn't have to do with her specifically. But please please PLEASE DO NOT LIVE HERE. Anytime you see "MOVE IN SPECIAL" in an ad for a place, just do yourself a huge favor and avoid it like the plague. I literally begged people I saw going on tours here to not live here because I didn't want anyone else to get stuck at this place. I'm so grateful that I don't live here anymore. read more

For months my boyfriend and I have been terrorized by our neighbor. What started off as loud music constantly quickly escalated into a violent situations. At all hours of the days and night he would play his music so loudly from the 4th floor you can hear it walking through the gate on the ground floor. He's thrown glass out of his window and destroyed the cafe owners car, thrown his belongings into the poolside, and continued to break his windows. He has also tried to walk into our apartment multiple times (thankfully we keep it locked), flooded our apartment by leaving sinks on in his own, and has been arrested who knows how many times since living here. The worst came when he tried breaking in and my boyfriend stopped him. He then swung and attempted to assault my boyfriend who thankfully was able to keep him pinned to the railing until other neighbors could intervene until the cops arrived. Even then he was somehow allowed back into the apartment, and it was only after he trashed his apartment again did the complex finally decide to get rid of him at the end of the month. Still every day we're dealing with his music, and every day I have to call the office and ask them to have him turn it down. Besides that, the security and emergency Mainteance people never answer their calls, half the washers and dryers don't work, the courtyard is constantly full of dog feces, the ceilings leak every time it rains, other tenants complain constantly of bugs (cockroaches, flies, spiders), apartments flood often, and other tenants and I have often experienced black mold randomly growing on the walls. The office constantly switches its managers out, so just as one person finally starts getting a handle of the situation they're suddenly gone and the new people have no idea what you're talking about. If you see the other reviews, they're absolutely right about what a god awful place this is for your pets, security issues, and you'll definitely be facing water problems. I can't even tell you how many times I've tried to go to shower before work either in the morning, middle of the day, or late at night and the water has been shut off. Some of the Mainteance guys are cool and you can tell they're trying their best. Some of them you can tell they don't give a shit and you'll get no help. read more

I moved in the Towers on Main (aka Argyle apartments) apartments 2 months ago and have been pleasantly surprised. I was drawn to it because the pictures showed me a "campy" 60's style apartments with floor plans named after the 60's Brat Pack and I thought, how cute and clever. Well, the Towers on Main have updated everything and it is still a cute, nice, clean place to live. The thing about apartments is that they can be expensive and I find the Towers on Main reasonably priced. The amenities include a clubhouse, a gym, swimming pool and sun deck away from the pool, so a person can enjoy the quiet and not get splashed. It is a gated community that accepts pets and the neighbors are very nice. It is quiet on the weekends and there is a cafe right next door. The apartment is right along bus routes with easy access to downtown SLC. People may look twice at the apartment due to its age, but there have many updates to the complex and trash valet. Yes, someone comes around every night to pick up your trash, so I don't have to lug it downstairs. No bedbug problems, as the walls between the apartments are concrete. This also keeps the apartments cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Oh, and the complex has an elevator, so anyone on the sixth floor will find it easy to move in, no six flights of stairs!!!. internet access is available and I love the new fridge and stove. Yes, The Argyle was campy, but Towers on the Main is a breathe of fresh life for this apartment complex. Thanks Towers on Main Staff for all your hard work.
