They diagnosed and fixed my mower quickly, and overall I had a great experience. Both the mechanics and office staff were professional, helpful, and easy to work with. There was one younger front desk team member who could improve on communication, but the rest of the team stepped in to make sure everything stayed on track and that I was well taken care of. I also really appreciated that they worked with me on the cost. My issue wasn't covered under the Cub Cadet warranty, but they still gave me a fair deal on the service, which went a long way. Had a leaky hose on the tractor, which they installed when I bought the tractor from them. It was a slow leak on the first one didn't notice until I was lifting heavy items. took it to them, and they made me another one. I installed the new hoses, and it leaked right off in the same place the other one did. I went back and changed the design to a lot simpler design, just two banjo fittings. They made me up the hoes but installed the wrong banjo fitting, 3 strike your out. I wouldn't recommend them to make up hydraulic hoes from my experiences, read more

Just picked up a new 6' mower. I showed up just before closing and their employees stayed an hour and half late to set it up and load it for me. Last time I was in (winter, when it snowed a ton) they made me chains the day of, specifically for my tire size. They were super busy and still had them done in a few hours. I have been doing business with T&C Tractors for a couple of years and up until this past week I was very happy with them. I have spent thousands of dollars on equipment and service. However, this recent experience is so bad that I will seriously consider taking my business elsewhere. I had an issue with my riding lawn mower, I called asking if someone could come out to look at it (I am only 5 miles away). I was informed they dont do that. I tried to talk to the guy about the issue and he asked no questions, just 'you have to bring it in'. I did not have a way to do that so I set up for them to pick up and deliver. Come to find out it was a VERY minor issue that could have been resolved over the phone (it was at the most a 5 min fix). I pointed that out to them. No response. They charged me $200 for their 'service', $75 of which was for the pickup and delivery - which brings it to my next issue. I set an appt to bring it back today. I asked them to let me know if there would be any way for them to bring it back sooner. I called this morning and was told we will be bringing it to you about 5. I called at 5:30 (they close at 5) and someone did answer. He claimed what they told me was they would have to 'fit me in' for today (they did not) and it wasnt going to happen because he had to leave. CORRUPT DISHONEST. INCOMPETENT. Do NOT take any MTD product here (Cub Cadet, Troy-Bilt etc.) Especially if it is under WARRANTY. Town and Country ("T&C") is the only "repair shop" in Snohomish County that is contracted with MTD to work on warranty defects for MTD products, so I took my push mower here accordingly. Big regret. After dropping off my mower, I was told "Do not call us, we will call you" -I never received a call back at all. After 3 weeks, I called and heard Mike's "bad oil" SCAM. That might work on some people, but not me (and a brand new mower). In effort to avoid honoring the warranty on a brand new mower (less than 2 hour cumulative use in its entire lifetime), T&C REMOVED THE CLEAN OIL FROM MY NEW MOWER & REPLACED IT W/BLACK DIRTY OIL!!! I have 2 independent witnesses that saw the mower after it seized and checked the oil (as did I) prior to dropping it off at T&C. One being my neighbor that drove me to drop it off at T&C. Both witnesses commented on how clean the oil was (It was brand new). There was no question in my mind that T&C was/are engaging in fraudulent and deceptive business practices, so I had another mechanic take it apart and examine it. It was confirm with 100% certainty that T&C removed the clean oil and replaced it with dirty oil. Not only did the black oil sample not match the unused oil still in the bottle that came with the mower when purchased, it was a mixture of several oils and the mechanic noted that when rubbing his finger on the piston covered in dirty oil the clean metal shows through. This means that the clean oil was lubricating the compartment when the black oil was dumped in. (Mike, you messed up big time). But, WHY?? Well, I learned that T&C earns a bonus from Troy Bilt for limiting the number of warranty claims they accept. Additional Facts: -Mike @ T&C refused to provide me a copy of the mechanic's notes when requested (I now know why he refused that request). -T&C did not even submit a claim to Troy Bilt as Mike told me they had. -T&C never even took the engine apart to diagnose the problem causing the lack of compression, they merely siphoned the clean oil and replaced it with old, well-used dirty oil after holding onto it for 3 weeks without any phone call. Conclusion: Town and Country is a corrupt business. Their scam may work on most of the older folks that patronize their establishment, but not this time! You got caught! read more

I called Town and Country Implements today and spoke with 'Colby' in parts. I was looking for a bevel gear for my Kubota tractor. To my surprise he said they had one in stock. I told him I wanted to buy it and have it shipped to my home out of state. He stated that he would get with his shipping agent and call me back with a final price. I agreed and hang up. Time passed and no phone call so I called back to see what happened. This time a 'Bryan' was put on the phone and told me that Town and Country wouldn't sell me the bevel gear. He stated they were in short supply and they needed to keep it for a potential repair job on a customers tractor. I asked him if I was willing to pay north of $1000.00, then didn't that make me a customer? Very poor customer service and skewed thinking on their part. Hopefully they never get to use it! In the summer of 2019 our Kioti tractor purchased from a private party had the water pump go out. We contacted Town & Country since all others were reluctant to work on it. They told us we were in the queue and they would call us for a pickup in about a month. We waited well over this and then contacted them. I was informed there was not actually a queue we were in and we could have waited till eternity for the call. They picked up the tractor and then we were actually in line. It sat there a few weeks and they got to the water pump. It was a very quick repair, but there were parts issues so our tractor ended up being gone with them another month or two. While it was there my husband asked them to change the oil and check the fluids etc. This was a mistake as they took this as authorization to exchange all the fluids, most of which were were nowhere near in need of work. My husband choked when they called to inform him of the over $800 service they had done in addition to the pump bill. They insisted that there was no issue with what they did, it was standard, and we just had to pay it. Any car shop we have ever dealt with calls and informs the owner of work to be done and the expected bill before that work is completed. This was completely inappropriate. We had some issues with double/incorrect charges for pickup and delivery, which were able to work out. When it was returned there was an O ring that was leaking as an odd size was used, but my husband was able to fix that. The hydraulics were crackling right after it came back, so my husband called and someone walked him through a number of checks on different connections and filters. The issue could never be discovered and he told him it was probably air or water getting in somewhere, but it wasn't really an issue. Still, it was not doing this before the tractor went in. We use our tractor lightly and it was within a handful of uses over a few months that we noticed the tractor completely lost power and became barely usable. The clutch was slipping. After the bad experience with T&C we searched for an independent mechanic, which was very difficult as apparently they have a reputation for not playing nicely with other mechanics. We finally found one willing to split the tractor and do the repair after months of being in denial about a broken tractor, waiting for the mechanic to have free time, and trying an external adjustment. When we collected the tractor the mechanic informed is that while there was likely wear and tear on the clutch (under 300 hours on the tractor) the fluid had been overfilled by a gallon which was absolutely the reason for a complete failure. At the time we had not assumed the clutch issue was related to the service the tractor received, but T&C definitely killed our tractor and caused a $2500 bill years before it should have been needed. Avoid this place at all costs and take it into account when you purchase a tractor that depending on the make, you will have a hard time finding someone else to service your machine. read more

Had a PTO shaft issue on my brush hog- the spring that connects it to our tractor broke. Brought it in on a Friday about 30 minutes before closing- the service guy at the counter begin to work on it right there- said hold on - let me see if the guys in back can help. Came back 20 min later with it not only fixed but they also had greased up all the fittings and the shaft. They easily could've said, "Sir please drop it off and we'll get to it in a few days to a few weeks". Instead, they fixed it on the spot. $3.00 part and $25 for labor which I was happy to pay as I couldn't fix it and I was back to mowing that evening vs two weeks from now. Worst service repair experience ever took in my log splitter that should have been covered under warranty ended up with a $150 estimate that turned into a 300 dollar bill and still a broken machine after a month and a half in the shop took it back in a couple days later to experience some verbal abuse and false accusations followed by threats of a full refund and take your s*** somewhere else!! then when I said there you go that'll get you a good reputation. became oh no problem we'll fix it... another month and a half goes by before I called Troy Bilt and told them about the situation. A half hour later they got back to me and told me they did not appear to know how to use the phone... my machine was fixed and waiting. then get a phone call from their mechanic Dave a half hour later saying I would get a partial refund for what should have been covered under warranty the first time and I still had to pay for what they misdiagnosed followed by more verbal abuse when I questioned them and then was hung up on After all that I sent my dad to pick it up to avoid police intervention. He was told he had to wait for the manager which immediately claimed he knew for a fact it was used commercially. Dad said you are digging a really deep hole and better have some facts to back that up. The manager immediately turned around and got a full refund. Thankfully I've been a service tech for nearly 20 years and could tell I was being lied to and cheated when I questioned them it was clear they did not know the answer so they lied more something about oil shear.. read more

Got a written quote for a zero turn mower for $3,399 by the "manager" Mike. Had my wife pull our trailer and meet me there which was an hour drive. As he is writing up paperwork, he says "Oops, that mower is actually $4,200 dollars....my mistake. We live an hour away....so yeah, that just happened. To add to the insult, he blamed a stroke from a couple years ago that gave him dyslexia and makes 1's look like 2's to him. SMH. read more

Being a new owner of a lawn mower, my husband and I made a rookie mistake of getting oil in the air filter of our lawn mower. Lowe's in Monroe told us to take it to Town and Country Tractor. My husband didn't have a very good interaction when he brought the mower in and talked with a "younger" guy and the guy treated him like he was stupid for making that mistake as well as getting mad that it was leaking gas all over his shop even though HE was the one to turn it in a way that it leaked. HOWEVER, When we went in to pick up our mower we talked with Mike and had a very friendly conversation! He helped us get our mower to our car and also was super friendly to us, giving us tips on what to do in winter time etc. All in all I feel like I can understand the concern that other people have had, but we haven't experienced it 100% yet. read more

BAD service on my wood chipper. Estimate for specified work was given at $200. Bill came to $300. What work? Clean the carburetor, change the oil, spark plug, air filter, replace one belt, and sharpen all blades. That was it. Less than $50 in parts. Upon challenging the bill, I was told that his guy spent two whole hours doing the work. (... Maybe I should have engaged the services of a plumber, or a lawyer.) Needed ALL of the blades sharpened. Only the two, easily accessed chippers were sharpened, but one blade was installed BACKwards, making feeding impossible (I disassembled, reversed, re-assembled). ALL of the flails were left untouched. Carb was cleaned, but when re-installed Mike broke the choke lever ... but slipped it back into place. First time I went to fire it up, it fell off in my hand. Go back? Never. Recommend them? Ditto. read more

Several years ago we used these guys and we couldn't remember why we went somewhere else. The shop that we switched to has closed for good and we needed work on our tractor so we called them. We delivered the tractor to them and were told 2 weeks for repair. No problem until it came time to get tractor back. We got a call it was done. We were having issues getting help to get it picked up. We drove to monroe and paid the repair bill and made arrangement to have the tractor delivered by them because we couldnt pick it up ourselves. At that time we were told that they could deliver friday morning. At 2:30pm on friday we called to check on the delivery and were told it would be delivered by end of day. Received a call at almost 5pm to tell us it would not get delivered today but be delivered monday morning "first thing". We called monday at 8:30am to verify a delivery time and were told "No" that they have a schedule to keep and they were not sure when delivery would be. Mike got on the phone and explained that his schedule for today was full last tuesday and he would have to "fit us in". Then said probably by 3pm. In the process of this call I realized why we stopped doing business with these people. The number one reason was not anything to do with the delivery. It was the HORRIBLE customer service(Or should I say NO customer service skills what so ever). HORRIBLE communications skills (again... lacking) AND Mike's HORRIFIC attitude. Mike as an owner of a business I wish you well. I commend the people that work for and with you because if it wasn't for them YOU would be OUT OF BUSINESS. Good luck to anyone who does business here. If you do need to do business here..... pack your patience, and if for some reason you need to call them and Mike ends up on the other end of the phone..... hang up and try your call again. We had shopped around looking for a tractor for our property. We found that the team at Town and Country were willing to take the time to talk to us about pros and cons of the different tractors they had available. We ended up getting a Kioti DK40SE. After about 120 hours, we had to have it serviced due to the shift lever pin shearing off. The cost of picking up the tractor and repairing it was very reasonable (less than $300). Before they returned it, they were checking to make sure everything worked correctly and discovered the shift lever wouldn't go into high. This would require opening the transmission to fix and could have cost thousands of dollars. Needless to say, I was a bit disheartened. The team at Town and Country also owned Kiotis and felt that this wasn't something that should be seen on a tractor with so few hours on it. They contacted Kioti and because they had such a good relationship with Kioti, the company said they would cover the cost of opening it up and finding out what was wrong. They discovered that one of the washers had cracked in half and was blocking the shifter. Not something that should have happened, but I was happy that Kioti stood behind their product to fix the problem and very happy that Town and Country was willing to approach Kioti on their customer's behalf to get this fixed. The team even went the extra mile to make sure any parts showing any wear were replaced. The tractor came back as good as new. It took about two extra weeks for the transmission service, and Mike and Dan were willing to give me a loaner so I wasn't completely stranded. It's great to be able to support a local, family owned business, and I would highly recommend taking the time to talk to them if you're looking for a new tractor. read more

I want to be able to have a shop and team I can trust to ask questions and get service. I do not want to be running around trying to find a shop that will service equipment purchased from a big box store. I recently purchased a Kioti sub compact tractor for my property. The guys were great. They didn't try to oversell me and were very accommodating. Within the first few minutes of mowing, I ran over a hidden flat piece of metal that bent a blade. I called them up and they told me to bring it by and they'd help me out on the spot. Mike impressed me then as a straight-talker - what made sense to replace or repair and what didn't make sense given the age and probable lifespan of the tractor. Fast forward 15 years and I've replaced the cub with a John Deere, I still visit town and country for Stihl, hydraulic and other parts. Still straight talk. Summary: Over promised ... way under delivered. Unfortunately the worst customer service I've ever experienced!!! I took a Honda walk behind mower in due to the transmission not engaging. Older mower but it has served me well over the years. I thought the problem was a cable, but I was open to hearing that it may be the transmission. Prior to dropping it off, I asked how back logged they were in service; I was told they were busy, and probably 4-5 days before someone could look at it. When I did take the mower in later that day, another person said that 4-5 days was unrealistic, the reality was they were at least one to two weeks back logged. I was disappointed but agreed to leave the lawn mower in their care. I did inquire if they had all parts in stock, should the transmission be the problem or simply the cables, so I didn't have to wait another week while they order parts once the problem was diagnosed. They assured me they had parts regardless of any problem they found. I left a deposit for the work they would be doing. After a week and a half I was told they had at least 30 mowers ahead of mine. After two weeks, I was told they had 10-12 mowers ahead of mine. After 2 and a half weeks, they said the mechanic was finally working on my machine and it needed a transmission which they had to ORDER. 3 WEEKS plus... and $330 later I have my mower back. Oh.... They "serviced" the mower while it was there. "Service" includes sharpening the blades....... the blades were never touched. I would caution and warn anyone prior to making a decision to have Town & Country Tractor provide service on any piece of equipment to reconsider. If there was a lower or negative score option, I would have chosen something lower than "one star". Not open on Saturday... They do not take American Express read more

I would not recommend this place to anyone. The sales Manager Dan is the only reason why they get a star and their hauling guy was pretty fantastic so he can share Dans star. The service department/mechanics need a serious overhaul. We were quoted $2000-$2400 for a repair that cost us...less that $200 with a private mechanic. The findings of the mechanic at T&C were only half right as no Valves were bent, and the side cover was never opened (per our mechanic). So he spent one hour doing???? read more

Rip off! Was quoted $150 for pick up of riding mower to be serviced for oil change, new blades, and belts. Received a call over a week later that it would now cost $600 for repairs we never asked for. Then after saying no, they had the nerve to charge us $160 to replace one spark plug and left engine dismantled. I would never recommend them and am reporting to BBB. read more

Not sure about the other reviews, but I bought my Cub Zero turn mower there 2 years ago after a long discussion with Mike from Service and Mike the boss. I was a bit apprehensive about the cost but they were right, and I got half my Saturdays back. These guys are great! Not only did they stop me from buying something too small for my needs, they back up their sale with really great service and customer support. Just 2 weeks ago, this expensive mower I bought started having some drive belt and fuel problems, and although it took a few days as it's springtime and everyone is having work done it now runs as good as the day they delivered. Total fuel system cleaning and adjustments to the drive belt system and the bill was 1/2 of what I expected. AMAZING! I've also noticed that the pricing for Cub Cadet parts and accessories is so darned close to the prices on Amazon that there is no reason to ever buy anywhere else. Was in the process of fixing my massey ferguson tractor. I contacted town and country an was pleased with a quote I was given over the phone. I stopped by to work out papers and make a deposit, when I spoke with the representative at the counter. He had no clue what I was there for. I was asked all the specifics about my tractor again which I gave over the phone the day before. Including all of business information. When in the store was told it would three times what I had been quoted. When I mentioned the difference in cost the representative simple said the person over the phone had no authority or knowledge to which they based my quote. So why have someone who is ignorant to your business answering you phone system. Will not be recommending these people to anyone I know, and definitely not having them work on any of equipment. read more

I needed to replace my 17 year old lawn tractor so I decided to go with Town & Country Tractors since it was a small business. When I called them at the end of July for a price quote, I was told they had one in their warehouse -- I was instructed to give them a heads-up before I came up to take a look at it prior to purchasing. I was told they needed to get it out of the crate and put it together. When I called a week later I was told that the lawn tractor I was interested in had been sold. I was told that they could order one from the factory for me and it would be in in about a week or so -- if I wanted to give them my credit card to pay. I agreed and we set up a Sunday delivery between 10 and 11:00 am. That Sunday at 11:00 am I called to see what had happened. I was told the mower was on the truck and the driver was running late from a previous delivery but would be at my house in 30 minutes. About five minutes later I received a call from them asking me if I was going to be around for the next two to three hours. I told them I would be there and was thanked for my flexibility. Around 3:30 pm the truck arrived with the mower. The driver unloaded it gave my son-in-law and daughter a quick "tour" of the machine. He stated that he had just washed it and that some interior rubber discs (?) were still wet and that it may effect the starting of the machine -- but when they dried out it would no longer be an issue. After he left, I sat in the seat ready to take a test "ride". My son-in-law had lifted the hood to show me something when I noticed orange rust inside the flywheel area. Then I happened to glance down at a small cubby like area in front of the hood beyond the steering wheel and saw old dried bird droppings. Then I noticed a white streak of poo down the steering wheel. This was NOT a new machine from the manufacturer just out of a crate. On Monday morning I called the manufacturer and found out the machine was produced in 01/2018. When I called Town & Country I was told that I did not know the "whole story" -- though it was never offered. I was also told this was a "bad fit" and that they would come out and pick it up and credit me so I could go elsewhere and buy one. Which is exactly what I did. I have never experienced such blatant lying and BS in my 67 years. I don't know the "whole story" -- that is true -- but I do know they tried to take advantage of me thinking they could slip me an old model that probably sat outside on their lot for a year. If you deal with these guys -- make sure you pay attention because you may be a "bad fit" too. read more

Worst experience ever, talk about arrogance. If you spend $20,000 there you probably get good service, not a good place for the little guy looking for small repairs and parts. The manager(I think Mike is his name) is one of the rudest individuals I have ever met in my life, embarrassed me at the parts counter then said they could order the right parts for me like I didn't know what I was doing. I would suggest one of the smaller repair companys in the area, a much more pleasant experience then this Arrogant over charging shop. There are mobile service companies also which charge about what these people charge just to pick up your machine and do better work, that's my experience. read more
